untitledThe episode begins with Robin’s alarm clock going off at 8:00 AM, and all the Titans run to the living room, expecting presents under the Christmas tree. In the past two years (soon to be three), they have gone without presents, and today, they find themselves receiving no presents again, so the Titans get suspicious. Robin says there is only one reason why they weren’t getting presents…they were on the Naughty List! They journey into the North Pole, sneak into Santa’s workshop and disperse. Raven and Starfire ask a gingerbread man where the naughty list is, but after a while, they start devouring everything in his house. Meanwhile, Beast Boy visits Santa’s reindeer and ends up upsetting Rudolph with insults, as he drives away in Santa’s sleigh.5616cde899678Over in the toy factory, Cyborg gets in with the elves and asks where the naughty list is, but the noise makes the leader elf angry. The leader elf asks what was happening, and Cyborg blames another elf, who is then carried away by Jingle and Jangle, as Cyborg gets away.ccca2714f77aa99b2c25018f1ea2fcb2Meanwhile, Robin investigates in Santa’s office, standing over Santa’s Naughty List, attempting to erase the Titans’ name from the list. Surprisingly, it doesn’t erase as he expected, so he tries rubbing out the Titans’ name first, uses white out and then a mini bomb, but eventually gives up from the failures. He is then interrupted by Santa’s dog, which intentionally barks to get Santa’s attention. Santa comes over and scolds Robin for his actions, but the other Titans eventually arrive to complain about how they didn’t get their wish for presents for the past three years. Santa states that presents are not the true meaning of Christmas, resulting in the Titans blowing up his toy factory. Forced against his will, Santa quickly confesses that the true meaning of Christmas is presents, and ends up taking the Titans in his sleigh, who help him give all nice and naughty people presents.

SECOND CHRISTMAS
The episode starts with the day being Christmas morning. The Titans get up and start celabrating. First they open their presents having Cyborg getting robot parts, Robin gets some capes, Starfire gets a Tamerain toy, Beast Boy gets a yarn ball, and Raven gets a golden, limited edition, Pretty Pretty Peguses doll. Next, everyone puts some “Ugly Christmas Sweaters”. They all commet on how ugly they are, and Raven says yet there still festive. Beast Boy notices that it’s snowing out. And everyone goes out to play. At night, everyone pigs out on a Christmas dinner. Everyone then yells “WE LOVE CHRISTMAS!”
But the next day, as soon when Christmas ends, Robin takes down all the Christmas decorations and tells everyone that he has a workout ready for them. As he removes the Christmas tree, Beast Boy tells him that Christmas isn’t over, but Robin breaks free of his grip, rudely tells him that it’s over, and walks off. The other sad Titans decide they don’t want to wait 364 days again until Christmas. Starfire announces that she plans to return to her home planet to celebrate the great Kergoff, as she does every year the day after Christmas. She says it is like a Tamaranean Christmas and is the most important holiday for her people. As soon as she leaves the room, Beast Boy, Cyborg, and Raven complain about how jealous they are that she gets to celebrate a “Second Christmas”.
When Starfire hears them say the the words “Second Christmas”, she pops back into the room, asking them if such a holiday really exists. The Titans decide to lie to her and tell her it does exist, and make her do all of the preparations for “Second Santa”. They say if she truly believes, Second Santa will come and give them a Second Christmas Miracle. Robin walks into the room, and Starfire asks him if all of this is true. He tells her that no, it is not true, but Beast Boy convinces her that he is just a grouch who hates Second Christmas. Every time Robin tries to tell her that the Titans are playing a trick on her, she should punch him in the face, which she does.
After a day of celebrating, Starfire lights up the entire front wall of the Tower with neon Christmas lights. Robin tells them that they are insane, and the Tower’s generator can’t handle that much energy. Nobody listens, however, and Starfire punches him in the face again calling him “the grouch.”
Later that night, Cyborg, Raven, and Beast Boy are proud of themselves, and decide that it is time for bed. Starfire decides she wants to stay up to see Second Santa. The three start to feel bad, but decide to go to bed anyways. Starfire goes to the roof, waiting for Second Santa by flying the Second Christmas kite and singing a Second Christmas song. Starfire begins to blame herself for Second Santa not coming, and nearly cries. The other Titans appear on the roof, and Robin forces them to tell her the truth. After hearing that they made her miss her home planet’s festival, Starfire begins crying, and when Raven asks if she’s okay, she becomes furious, and starts throwing starbolt-enhanced snowballs at them in a rage. Even Robin is attacked for “being the grouch”. While the battle on the roof ensues, the Tower’s generator finally overheats, with a gigantic explosion lighting up the entire island. The Titans lay unconscious in the hospital in their beds and in hospital gowns (expect Cyborg and Raven) while the Tower was being rebuilt.
The Titans and Silkie wake up in the hospital, confused. Robin checks the clipboard at the end of his bed, and realizes that the tower’s explosion put all six of them in a coma for 363 days. Starfire claims that she was a fool for believing in a Second Christmas but Robin comforts her by saying that it was a Second Christmas miracle. They are all suddenly filled with excitement, realizing that tomorrow is Christmas Eve, and they didn’t have to wait a whole year after all. Starfire looks out the window to see the real Second Santa, who provided them with a Second Christmas miracle.
Teen Titans was always a love it or hate it series and this reboot series is the same. The Christmas episode is funny and sweet in places. Being only a little over 10 mins it gets to the story straight away and is quite well paced. its a decent special to watch at Xmas.

Five years ago, the original Teen Titans (consisting of Dick Grayson as Robin, Speedy, Kid Flash, Beast Boy and Bumblebee) rescue Princess Starfire of planet Tamaran from her captors sent by her evil older sister Blackfire who had staged a coup and forcibly took the throne. As she is no longer able to return to her world, the Titans offer her a home on Earth as one of them.In the present, Dick Grayson (now called Nightwing) rejoins the Teen Titans to track down a terrorist cult led by Brother Blood who plans on capturing the team to absorb each of their unique abilities with a machine that he has tested on Jericho (whom his assistant and lover Mother Mayhem quickly shoots afterwards). Brother Blood hires the mercenary Deathstroke to deliver the Titans to him, which he obliges to do for both the money and get revenge on Damian Wayne for foiling his evil plans a few years ago and replacing him as Ra’s al Ghul’s heir before Damian turned against the League of Assassins. Deathstroke monitors the Titans through his double agent that joined the team a year prior named Terra whom he rescued after her parents turned their whole village against her and tortured her. When Damian grows suspicious of Terra’s behavior and starts tracking her, he is captured by her and Deathstroke, thus revealing herself as a spy to Damian.Terra acts cold and distant towards the other Titans despite their welcoming attitude, but eventually warms up to them over time. During the night celebrating her one year anniversary with the Titans, she shares a tender moment with Beast Boy and kisses him. The next day, Deathstroke kidnaps Blue Beetle at the soup kitchen he works at, Beast Boy at a convention where he thought he would do a podcast with filmmaker Kevin Smith, and Starfire at the apartment shared by her and Nightwing. Dick discovers what happened to the other Titans and is attacked by Deathstroke at his apartment. He manages to escape by faking his own death, while Terra captures Raven in Titans’ Tower.Deathstroke and Terra bring the Titans to Brother Blood, but since the machine cannot operate properly without a sixth Titan (as Slade had failed to capture Nightwing), Slade hesitantly offers him Terra instead. Brother Blood starts draining the Titans of their powers and ascends to godlike status, but they are rescued by Nightwing. Nightwing and Robin fight Deathstroke while the rest take on Brother Blood, who has absorbed all of their powers. The two villains are stopped by the intervention of Terra, who is thoroughly hurt and enraged at Slade for his betrayal. Brother Blood is depowered by Raven unleashing her inner fury as a demon, and killed by Mother Mayhem while Deathstroke is buried underneath multiple rocks thrown by Terra. Too ashamed to face her former allies after betraying their trust, Terra decides to bring down the entire area. Beast Boy attempts to assist Terra in escaping the crumbling fortress, but Terra pushes him back and is buried underneath multiple layers of rubble. Beast Boy digs her up and she dies in his arms.In the epilogue, Beast Boy goes on Kevin Smith’s podcast and talks about the Titans with the host. He mentions that the team has a “wonderful new member” and that he will always miss Terra. In a post-credits scene, Jericho is shown to have survived the bullet Mother Mayhem shot at him earlier. The action is exciting, the screenplay is very well written and the animation keeps a solid level; but what I liked the most was to feel the Teen Titans as an authentic team, well balanced and united despite their differences with each other. To sum up, I enjoyed Teen Titans: The Judas Contract very much, and I will now be expecting their next movie with enthusiasm.

“Haters going Hate”(Starfire). The line said by Starfire in the episode Dog Hand, which sets up the general feeling amongst the viewers who have declared this show an abomination, due to not following the original’s compelling story and characters we cared about. Like many, I loved the original Teen Titans, which pretty much was up there with series like Static Shock, Batman Beyond, Justice League, and Batman TAS. The original Teen Titans will forever be a part of our childhood, and we as fans will go out in all lengths to defend the honor of the show, but many are missing the point to Teen Titans Go. In doing so, they are missing what seems to be a promising comedic spin on our Titans.Let’s start by stating that this revival of Teen Titans was never meant to follow or be like the original series. Those who thought otherwise did not read up enough on the show’s premise and details. Teen Titans Go takes our Titans and puts them in a skit. Teen Titans Go is a comedic take on the daily lives of our heroes, and has taken a break from all the serious action and storytelling that we all loved in the original. The mistake that fans do is that they take the show too serious and continue to compare it to the original, thus eliminating any chance for the show to strive. Once the public separates the original from the new, then the show’s genius will take off.
Now, you’re probably saying that there is nothing special or great about the show. It’s not funny or the animation is too grade school. That is all fair, perhaps the show is not your cup of tea, but here are some reasons why the show does excel. First reason; believe it or not, this show does a great job by paying tribute to its old counterpart. The episode Pie Bros highlights a familiar villain known as Mother Mae eye, which the old lady uses her customers as the secret ingredient to her delicious pies. Many Teen Titans Go episodes highlight concepts and villains that were present in the original, and put them into a comedic light. Raven’s daddy coming to visit, Jynx hanging out with Raven and Starfire or Speedy challenging Robin for Starfire’s love are but many episodes in which there are hints of our beloved series, but you have to have an open mind to see the hints to the original.
The argument of it being way too kiddy can be true at times, but many miss the wit that the show presents in subtle moments. The episode La Larva de Amor pokes fun at milk mustaches. At one point we have Cyborg look like Mr. T. Raven sports the Gandalf look from the LOR, and Beast boy does his Chewbacca impression. In the episode Tower Power, Cyborg references to VHS, Different Strokes, and The Pointer Sisters. Not to mention that stereotype on Mexicans in the episode La Larva de Armor. These jokes and pokes would fly over a child’s head. Teen Titans go has a little fun for all ages.Lastly, the characters on this show make it all worthwhile. The original voice cast is here and that authenticates the shows respect for the original. Robin is portrayed as being a control freak and has moments of rage and insecurities, sounds familiar. Raven is still emo and has her sarcastic wit that feels like Raven of old. Cyborg and Beast boy are still pals, and they have their fun. Starfire is still innocent at times and loves her Silky. You see, the Titans are still there, but they have transformed into Toon versions, and are put into a new world where doing laundry can be a great evil foe.Everyone has their tastes and by no means is this show perfect. However, the mistake is that going into a premiere with the expectations of a show being just like the original will set you up for disappointment. It’s happen to a lot of revivals that are good, but are ripped because it’s not the original. Teen Titans Go takes a step back from the original and focuses on lighter and wittier moments that make this show hilarious at times. The original will forever be superior, but this new take has its brilliance, you just need to let go for a moment and let the show take its course. Defiantly the show is worth a look or two.

7c729ccb6000d2c5a180d8a53eb014b2Jump City is attacked by a Japanese ninja called Saico-Tek. The Teen Titans manage to capture him, having their tower damaged in the process. Under interrogation, Saico-Tek reveals the identity of the one who sent him – Brushogun – then he ruptures the room’s fire extinguisher system and mysteriously vanishes. Subsequently, the Titans head to Tokyo, Japan, to search for his master. Upon arriving Tokyo, after overcoming the language barrier (Starfire kisses a Japanese boy and learns how to speak Japanese, much to Robin’s shock and jealousy) and fighting a Gorgo-like giant reptile, the Titans meet Tokyo’s own supernatural defense force – the Tokyo Troopers – led by Commander Uehara Daizo. He shows the Titans around the Tokyo Troopers headquarters, and when Robin questions him on Brushogun, Daizo claims that Brushogun is nothing more than an urban legend.cbr-thorlokibloodbrothersclip118-1024x577Left with no villains to pursue, the Titans can do nothing else than to enjoy Tokyo as tourists. Beast Boy follows a girl around and is eventually lured to a karaoke bar, while Cyborg goes to an “all-you-can-eat” restaurant. Raven searches for book stores to read and incidentally finds a book describing the origins of Brushogun. Robin and Starfire explore Tokyo, then while sitting on Tokyo Tower they finally start to express their feelings for each other. They are about to share a kiss together, when suddenly Robin starts to focus on Brushogun again, and tells Starfire that they are heroes and can’t be anything more. Upset, Starfire flies away with tears in her eyes.Investigating alone, Robin is attacked once again by Saico-Tek and they get into a violent fight, which ends with Robin pummeling the ninja into the ground. When Saico-Tek does not rise, the crowd watching believes Robin has killed him. Despite his protestations of innocence, Robin is apprehended by Daizo. Elsewhere, Beast Boy and Cyborg are being chased by Beast Boy’s fangirls from the karaoke bar (because they’re infatuated with his performance) and the chefs from the restaurant (because Cyborg’s bottomless appetite aroused their ire). Starfire, alone by herself, when a little girl manages to help her overcome her depression as she finally realizes that Robin does in fact have feelings for her.thor_loki_bloodbrothers_preview_01

The Mayor of Tokyo announces Robin’s arrest and orders that the other Teen Titans must either turn themselves in or leave Tokyo at once. Starfire calls the other Titans for emergency. They are about to regroup when Brushogun sends out his minions to destroy each of the Titans. Cyborg is beset by a giant yellow robot who keeps trying to eat him. Beast Boy is attacked by a pink cat girl who turns out to be the girl he was following earlier. Raven is pursued by a ghostly figure in a graveyard, and Starfire is assailed by a small blue robot boy in the sky. Robin is transferred, but during the ride a slip of paper bearing the name “Brushogun” fits into the armored car carrying him and explodes, freeing him. Now on the run, Robin co-opts the identity of a Shinjuku mugger to collect information that Brushogun is in fact real. He is eventually found by the Tokyo Troopers, which leads to a car chase. Robin is surrounded front to back when Starfire comes to his rescue. Starfire takes Robin to a shrine hideout, where they try to kiss again when suddenly Cyborg, Raven, and Beast Boy, who have come back safely, barge in on them.thor_loki_bloodbrothers_preview_03

As Raven relates from the book she found, Brushogun was an artist who dreamed of bringing his beloved drawings to life using Japanese dark magic. The spell ultimately turned against the young artist, and he was transformed into Tokyo’s first super villain, Brushogun, a being of paper and ink – capable to bring any creation he could imagine to life – until he suddenly disappeared. With this knowledge, Robin deduces Brushogun’s hideout: the comic book publishing factory that they encountered earlier in the film. Breaking in, the Titans discover the withered form of Brushogun, trap-wired into a cursed printing press that taps into his powers to create the enemies the Titans have faced. He reveals that he had sent the first Saico-Tek to the Titans to lure them to Tokyo in order to stop the real culprit who had enslaved him: Daizo himself. Having used Brushogun’s power to create both his Tokyo Troopers and the monsters that they captured in order to gain a reputation as a hero.

A battle ensues, culminating in Robin facing Daizo. With no options of escape left, Daizo hurls himself from a catwalk into the ink reservoir of the press, taking control of Brushogun’s magic and transforming himself into a giant, hulking mass of ink and machinery, with Brushogun at the center. As the other Titans battle the creatures Daizo hurls at them, Robin frees Brushogun. As the old man peacefully fades away in his arms into the afterlife, his powers disappear and Daizo is left defeated and exposed. With the battle concluded, Robin tries to explain his true feelings for Starfire, but getting the message, she silences him. The two romantically share their first real kiss as the other three Titans look on, with Cyborg stating, “Well, it’s about time”. Later on, with Robin’s name cleared, the Titans are awarded medals of honor by the mayor for their actions of unlocking the truth, and the inhabitants of Tokyo welcome their new heroes. Robin and Starfire are seen as a romantic couple, Cyborg earns his own “all-you-can-eat” meal, Beast Boy remains popular among the girls from the karaoke bar, and Raven has been made a mascot for Japanese confections. Robin remarks that even superheroes need a vacation once in a while, to which Beast Boy declares that he wants to go to Mexico on their next vacation. This prompts Raven to slap him on the back of the head (albeit offscreen). The end credits roll as each of the Titans sing their theme song.7ac3d0b87cd0f6efe59723f44ab2d202

This film is more than just a longer version of an episode. The plot is much more complex and thematic than you would find on television. The art is beautiful; the Tokyo backdrops are particularly pretty. This is a magnificent addition to the ‘Teen Titans’ franchise, and will definitely not disappoint fans of the series.
