power-rangers-zeo-episode-29-a-season-to-remember

The episode starts with an old man telling his grandson a story about the Rangers during the holidays. He sadly did not tell of the time the Rangers actually met Santa. The Rangers and Raymond (a recurring character during Zeo) are throwing a party at the Juice Bar promoting different holiday traditions. They are celebrating Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and probably others. Power Rangers once again does a good job of showing off all the holidays. The Machine Empire led by King Mondo are the big bads this season. Of course they don’t understand Christmas since they are robots and stuff. Mondo sends Prince Sprocket to mess with the Rangers’ minds. Sprocket makes them not respect other religions leading them to argue. It’s a bit comical listening to Tommy tell Raymond to go pick a Christmas tree instead of worrying about his Jewish stuff. Tanya is pretty hilarious too being really angry that nobody is respecting Kwanzaa. Mondo also makes all their holiday items disappear making everyone want to cancel the party. Mondo’s plan is working until a little girl convinces the Rangers through a bad song that diversity and having friends is good. Mondo’s plan is foiled.I liked the different holidays aspect. It’s good to see Power Rangers go above and beyond just focusing on Christmas. I liked that old school holiday special feel of an old man telling his grandson the story. It’s sweet. We find out in the end that Tommy is the old man and that he’s married to Kat. They make a cute old couple.

It’s Christmas time in Angel Grove and, in the Angel Grove Juice Bar, everyone inside is in the spirit. Rangers Adam, Billy, Rocky and Tommy watch the goings-on as Kimberly and Aisha hold a minor pageant within, leading children in singing “We Wish You a Merry Christmas”. As the pageant ends, the girls rejoin the guys as bar owner Ernie approaches Tommy and offers him to put up the star and finish up the Christmas Tree. However, Tommy spots a despondent little girl and lets her put up the star in his place. Aisha talks to Kimberly, who tells her that this was the first Christmas she was going to spend without her mom (an earlier plot had Kimberly decide to stay with Aisha when her mom moved to Europe). Aisha reassures her and gets her to join in with the decorating as bullies-turned-junior police officers Bulk and Skull enter, lamenting in the duties as Santa and an elf respectively. When Kimberly attempts to put up some mistletoe, Tommy arrives to help her, only for Bulk and Skull to barrel through and Skull steal a kiss from Kimberly, much to her displeasure. However, not all is happy. In his base on the Moon, the villainous Lord Zedd shows his displeasure over the holidays and vows things will be different. Rita Repulsa demands to know how he’ll do that, noting he says that every year. However, Zedd corrects her, pointing out how could she know since they’ve only been married a year; he produces a special top that would hypnotize the children of the world into doing his bidding – basically, by taking control of children, Zedd rules the future of Earth. Rito Revolto comments that Zedd’s idea is pretty good, while being entranced by the spinning top. Zedd gives Rito the top and tells him to get to the North Pole and force the elves to make more of the toys, while taking Santa hostage. Deciding to make a pun-related gloat, Zedd says “Santa won’t have to check his list twice, because all the children of the world will have been naughty, and won’t that be nice for me.”In the Juice Bar, Aisha and Kimberly practices another song, “Menorah, Menorah”, with the kids as Aisha notices the kid from earlier. Aisha’s curious as to what’s going on though Kimberly is just as clueless. When the song ends and the kids leave, the two confront the girl over her half-hearted performance, but she brushes them off saying that it wasn’t worth it as she wouldn’t have to sing for. In the North Pole, Santa enters his workshop to check on his elves and their work. The head elf shows worry over not meeting their deadline, but Santa reassures her. However, Rito appears, flanked by Tengu Warriors, and declares that he’s taking over and wants the elves to make the tops. Rito introduces himself, with Santa commenting that he’s been very bad; Rito takes it as a compliment. Santa and the head elf stand up to them, but Rito’s numbers easily overpower them. In the Juice Bar, Kimberly confronts the child and finds out that her dad can’t come to the pageant because he’s stuck at work. Kimberly reassures the girl and cheers her up before bringing her in. She catches Tommy under the mistletoe once again and they try for another kiss only to be interrupted by their communicators – Zordon needs the Rangers.
Arriving in the Command Center, Zordon lets the teens in on Rito’s takeover, confusing the teens over why Zedd would do this. Learning of the toys, the team agrees that they have to stop them; however, Zordon warns them that, because of various factors like a cross-current of holiday magic and the North Pole’s unique polarity, their powers will not work on the North Pole. They realize that and take the chance anyway. Upon arriving, the Rangers make it to the workshop to see Santa tied up and Rito and the Tengu pushing the elves into working. As the team thinks up of a plan, Zedd spots the teens and sends Goldar to assist Rito and to get rid of the Rangers. In the Juice Bar, the little girl confronts Bulk and Skull in trying to find Kimberly; both are shocked to her Kimberly isn’t around, since she never bails on helping others. Skull reminds Bulk it’s time to slip into their costumes; Bulk says they’ll go outside and let Santa know about Kimberly’s disappearance. In Santa’s workshop, the Rangers huddle and come up with a plan, which begins with Aisha and Kimberly getting the head elf’s attention and letting them in on their plan. The two, then, get Rito’s attention and lure him outside while the head elf rallies the other elves. Outside, the Rangers make their presence known and Rito realizes that his powers don’t work either, which greatly upsets him. When Goldar finally arrives, the Rangers attack by launching snowballs at the two villains, forcing them to retreat inside the workshop, where they’re tripped up and taken out. The Tengas try to aid them, only to be tripped up by marbles. The villains defeated, they’re tied up in ribbon and teleported back to Zedd and Rita. The head elf realizes that the takeover has put them behind schedule and Billy offers the Rangers to aid the elves in getting them back on track by wrapping up the rest of the presents and loading them into Santa’s sleigh, which they accept. The teens are able to finish everything and, for their help, are given a sack of presents to give to others at the Juice Bar. In Zedd’s base, Zedd and Rita are happy to receive at least one gift this year. To Rita’s anger, the box is full of their hypnotic spinning tops – “What a gyp!” Wearing a Santa hat, Rito sheepishly give Goldar a new sword as a Christmas gift. Taken aback by Rito’s gesture, Goldar can only thank him gladly. Rita and Zedd, however, are left disgusted. Looking out to earth, Zedd declares that he hates Christmas with a “bah humbug!”, the quote echoed by Rita.
At the Juice Bar, Bulk and Skull have donned their costumes and are tending to the kids to hear their wishes, finding themselves dumbstruck over one kid’s massive list. The Rangers return with the gifts and Kimberly gives the girl a special gift – her father, who apologizes for missing out and promises her that he would stay with her. The girl approaches Bulk and asks what she’d want for Christmas, only for her to say she already has her gift thanks to him, leaving the two feeling warm inside (and Skull breaking down into tears). Kimberly and Tommy finally get their kiss under the mistletoe and she is reunited with her mom for the holidays. After one last song, “Silent Night”, everyone gathers around the stage and let out a “Merry Christmas”.
One of my all time favorite Christmas specials, it’s got a great story to it and its loads of fun to watch every year around Christmas.

CHRISTMAS 2017 REVIEW: ALPHA’S MAGICAL CHRISTMAS

CAST
Jason David Frank (The One Warrior)
Amy Jo Johnson (Flashpoint)
David Yost (Degenerate)
Johnny Yong Bosch (Marvel Anime: Blade)
Karen Ashley (Sawed)
Steve Cardenas (Power Rangers Zeo)
Romy J. Sharf (The Item)
The Christmas special begins in the Command Center decorated for Christmas with Alpha 5 walking in as the special’s title is shown on screen. As the opening credits appear on screen, the frame story starts: Alpha 5 breaks the fourth wall and tells the audience that he’s just putting the final touches on his Christmas tree before the big day arrives. He then goes on to tell the audience that he feels quite happy about Christmas that year (the actual year isn’t stated, but it is implied to be 1994 based on Rocky, Adam and Aisha appearing on the Viewing Globe) even though he didn’t feel that way at the beginning of the day.
The rest of the special then goes into a flashback (comprised of both stock and original footage) where Alpha 5 is telling Zordon that he just can’t get into the Christmas Spirit. Zordon tells Alpha 5 to cheer up as it’s Christmas Eve although it does seem too quiet without the Rangers. When Alpha asks where the Rangers are, Zordon responds that they are at the North Pole helping Santa Claus get ready for his annual trip. To cheer Alpha up from his sadness over being ignored by the Rangers, Zordon presents a Christmas tree and then teleports in several children from around the world to do activities and sing carols with Alpha. Soon the Rangers teleport in, but they can’t stay long.
At the end of the special we cut back to the same area we see at the beginning, where Alpha says goodbye and that he, Zordon, and the Rangers hope we have a very merry Christmas and a happy new year
The Special is cheesy and out of continuity but it’s good t ohave for any Power Rangers fan, and is fun to watch at Christmas. It’s available as a special on the Christmas Power Rangers dvd and on the Season 1-3 set in America.

MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS – LIFE’S A MASQUERADE
The gang is helping to decorate the Youth Center for the Halloween costume party. Bulk and Skull end up having to help, Zack goes after Angela again, and Tommy helps Kimberly paint. Bulk and Skull’s antics once again end with Bulk getting hit with a bucket of paint. Rita Repulsa goes ahead with her plan to mine Super Putty, but needs to distract the Rangers. Finster creates a Frankenstein Monster. It’s sent to Angel Grove.

The five main Rangers convene at Billy’s house, all wearing costumes. Tommy is still finishing his costume and plans on catching up with them. Bulk and Skull try on costumes in hope of finding ones that will win the the big prize at the party, but just end up going in their usual punk outfits. Alpha shows up at the party because he wanted to party and hang out with the Rangers, and this costume bash would be the perfect opportunity (Alpha is soon surrounded by fawning girls, to Zack’s consternation). Frankenstein Monster crashes as well, but no one seems to notice, not even Alpha and his new fan club. Finster heads the mining of the Super Putty at some cave. Frankenstein Monster gets violent after its foiled attempt to catch the Rangers. It chases Bulk and Skull outside of the Youth Center. Billy follows the monster to the cave. He morphs and battles the beast with little success. He regroups with the others at the costume party as Rita erupts from the surface of Angel Grove on top of a giant ball of Super Putty. At the Command Center, Zordon fills the five in on Rita’s plans. Tommy is ambushed by Putties outside the Youth Center. The other five morph and go to confront Frankenstein Monster. It’s very powerful and the Rangers are barely holding out when Rita makes Frankenstein Monster grow.
Image result for POWER RANGERS LIFES A MASQUERADEMegazord duels with the monster and Tommy is finally able to morph and join his friends. Neither Dragonzord or Megazord have luck with fighting the creature so Dragonzord Battle Mode is formed. With the The Power Staff, the Rangers finally kill Frankenstein Monster after he initially manhandles the Dragonzord Battle Mode.Back at the Juice Bar, the Rangers celebrate their victory over Rita once again. Tommy runs off to change into his costume. Kim tells Alpha that he is a hit at the party, calling him by name in front of his new fawning fan club. Bulk and Skull show up to pick on the young robot, calling him a tin can. Tommy shows up in his Frankenstein Monster costume at the party. Ernie declares the winner of the costume contest to be… Alpha! Bulk tells Skull to grab a can opener, as he wants to learn what Alpha really is. Alpha states that his identity is one mystery that will have to remain unsolved, and he walks off with his newfound fan club.
An excellent first attempt for an Halloween episode, choosing Frankenstein as the monster was brilliant.
MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS  – TRICK OR TREAT
Kimberly boasts to Trini and Tommy that she is going to be competing on Trick or Treat, the most popular game show in the country, and possibly win a new car. Unfortunately, her opponent just happens to be Skull, whom Bulk claims is going to be unbeatable. Up in the Moon Palace, Rita Repulsa has received word that her new monster Pumpkin Rapper has been planted and is ready to grow. As Trick or Treat begins, the host explains the rules. Each contestant asks him a trick question, and stumping him earns a Pumpkin Point. The one with the most points at the end wins. While the other Rangers are cheering for Kimberly, Tommy (who couldn’t go to the show due to having previously signed up for a karate tournament) stumbles onto a pumpkin patch full of rotten pumpkins in the park. Rita panics and has Putties sent down to deter Tommy from finding her monster, but he fights them off and informs Zordon of the attack before heading for the tournament.
Image result for power rangers trick or treat
Kimberly quickly takes an impressive lead on Pumpkin Points, while Bulk helps Skull cheat by giving him hints from the audience. Just when she is one point away from winning, however, the other Rangers gesture to Kimberly that Zordon is calling and she is forced to fake a fainting spell in order to be taken off the set, making Skull the winner by default. Once they arrive at the Command Center, Zordon fills them in on the situation. After morphing, the Rangers arrive in the park and investigate the pumpkins. They suddenly latch onto their heads in an attempt to suffocate the Rangers, but Kimberly avoids getting caught and uses her Blade Blaster to free them. The pumpkins suddenly rise up and turn into pumpkin-headed Putties, and Pumpkin Rapper awakens to challenge the Rangers with both his electrified vines and his horrible rap-lyrics. Zordon is forced to summon Tommy into battle, costing him his spot in the tournament but saving the Rangers in time. With Tommy holding him down, the Rangers squash Pumpkin Rapper with the Power Blaster. Kimberly and Tommy shrug over being forced to lose their respective contests, but console themselves in knowing that they’re both winners. Bulk and Skull soon arrive to show off their new car, but their ride comes to an end when a representative of Network Standards and Practices declares Skull’s win as forfeit due to his and Bulk’s cheating and takes back the car.
The second Halloween episode is one of my all favorites, making a Kimberly episode was just brilliant and I really liked the Pumpkin Rapper monster. The game show part was funny too.
MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS – ZEDD’S MONSTER MASH
As the teens enjoy Halloween with some of their young friends, Lord Zedd instructs the putties to crash the annual Youth Center Halloween Party by disguising themselves as kids. Then, as Tommy takes the disguised putties trick-or-treating, Goldar kidnaps him to a secret location to battle the most vicious Halloween monsters.
A Simple Halloween episode but a fun one, Tommy vs Monsters of the past, also the first mention of the peace conference, so it makes the episode important.

MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS SPECIAL – LORD ZEDD’S MONSTER HEADS
Lord Zedd obseves a Halloween party on Earth that the rangers are attending, and he seems impressed. Goldar suggests sending the Putties down, but Zedd turns around in anger; no, they will not be attacking the rangers today. They will give them a break from fighting evil for now, and let the humans of Earth have some peace for once. Instead, they will be having their own Halloween party, and there is no one better to do so than a Master of Evil such as himself. Previously destroyed monsters are recreated to serve as the guests for the party. Everyone has a good time, finally enjoying a day were they weren’t dealt a defeat by the Power Rangers. Fireworks go off outside the palace bringing the story to an end and closing it on a high note.
Doomstone
This Special was a direct video sold in the USA and is found on the series DVD, its mostly recycled footage with newly dubbed lines, its worth seeing but it is better to stick to the normal Halloween episodes.
POWER RANGERS ZEO – IT CAME FROM ANGEL GROVE
It’s a dark and stormy night at Angel Grove High School, and Adam is staying late to study while Tanya is asleep and Bulk and Skull are on night patrol. When Tanya gets up to leave, Bulk and Skull warn her that it’s a full moon tonight and that unusual things can happen under it, but Tanya just laughs and agrees to walk them home. As he studies, Adam is distracted by the television as it begins playing a favorite old monster movie of his, The Bride of Hackensack, and he ends up falling asleep on the sofa.
Later, Adam is rudely woken up when a black cat runs into the room. Adam chases it, only to run into Rita Repulsa and Lord Zedd as they stand in the darkened hallway of the high school. They tell him that while he slept, the Machine Empire took over the planet and brainwashed his friends. Adam’s only hope is to follow the cat as it leads him to a powerful sorcerer, and he must also collect the cape of a vampire, the hair of a werewolf, the wrappings of a mummy, and the eye of a cat in order to earn the sorcerer’s trust and turn back the Machines. As Adam steps through a door, he finds himself in a black-and-white world and meets a vampire named Tomacula as a familiar-looking bartender serves drinks to him and his friends… except Tomacula wants something a little more fresh from Adam’s veins. King Mondo suddenly appears to taunt Adam and send down Cogs, and Adam grabs Tomacula’s cape while he’s distracted.
A voice suddenly calls out as a rope appears. Adam climbs it and appears in a forest where he meets Lord Henry. He and the villagers are on watch for a werewolf in the area, but Adam finds out that Henry himself is the werewolf. When Henry falls into the bushes, Adam grabs some of his caught hair and flees. After meeting with the local Burgermeister, Adam is directed to a nearby cave where a professor is researching the tomb of Prince Bulkenhotep. The mummified prince wakes up and chases them until Adam helps him unwind by pulling his wrappings off. Adam leaves the cave and arrives inside a strange laboratory, where Dr. William von Hackensack and his assistant Eye-Gor are at work creating a zombie bride. Suddenly, the cat reappears and transforms into Valencia, queen of the witches. She demands that Adam submits to her power, but he takes her cat’s-eye pendant and she melts away.
The four items gathered, Adam finally reaches the wizard Zordonicus, who forces him to choose one of his friends to fight the evil Drill Master. When Adam asks himself what Tommy would do in his situation, Zordonicus accepts it as Adam’s answer and sends Tommy into the battle. Tommy struggles against Drill Master, but he ultimately triumphs over the monster. Adam demands that Zordonicus revert the world to normal, but the sorcerer reveals himself to be King Mondo and sends monsters to destroy him. Adam is suddenly jostled awake by Tommy, Kat, Tanya, and Rocky. As it turns out, Adam had slept through the whole night and suffered through one big nightmare. While Bulk and Skull pass through chasing what looks like the cat from his dream, Adam sees a TV commercial for an encore showing of The Bride of Hackensack. The other Rangers plan to watch it later, but Adam decides to pass on the offer as he’s had enough of scary movies.
An excellent episode one of the best Halloween specials and indeed one of the best episodes ever.
POWER RANGERS TURBO – CARLOS AND THE COUNT
While on his way home from Bulk and Skull’s Scary Film Festival, Carlos is ambushed and bitten in the park by Divatox’s latest monster, Count Nocturne. The next day, Carlos slowly starts to develop the attributes of a vampire, and the other Power Rangers quickly try to cure him and take down Count Nocturne. Meanwhile, Bulk and Skull are determined to slay Carlos before he turns his friends into vampires too.
This was a good showcase episode for Carl, it’s a fun episode seeing Carlos as he transforms into a vampire and Justin trying o prove to the others that Carlos is a Vampire.

POWER RANGERS OPERATION OVERDRIVE – RONNY ON EMPTY – PART 1 & 2
hqdefault
Ronny throws a Halloween party and everyone helps out. All except for Will. When Moltor and the Fearcats work together at powering a new robot, they capture Ronny and Will. Now the two of them must escape while the others go to Egypt in order to find the next jewel.
Another fun Halloween episode, I know overdrive is not well liked among PR fans but I liked it, this 2 parter also plants a few seeds for future episodes so it is an important one

POWER RANGERS SAMURAI – PARTY MONSTERS
In the Nighlok Heaven, a Nighlok knocks on the door and gives the password. He is greeted in the Spookeasy Club and their Halloween Party. The Nighloks are having a party and wishing each other Happy Halloween. Negatron is bummed that they are all ghosts. They decide to share each of their stories against the Rangers. Madimot is the first one to reveal his story. At the Sanzu River, Master Xandred is depressed from his failures. Back at the Party, the Nighloks continue their party. Dreadhead shows off his Red Ranger pumpkin followed by his story. Antberry shares his story against the Blue and Gold Rangers. Yamiror goes next with his story. Back at the Sanzu River, Octoroo and Dayu try to cheer up Master Xandred.
The stories continue with Desperaino and Rofer. Negatron gets his chance to share his story. Moogers join the party with their own costumes. One of the Moogers is dressed as the Samurai Megazord. Steeleto and Vulpes share their stories. The Sanzu River punch bowl is now emptied. Splitface shares his story of his Mega fight.
Dreadhead talks about his battle against the Beetle Cannon. Rhinosnorus shares his brief story about exploding behind the Blue Ranger. Tooya shares his story against the Red Ranger. The Nighloks reveal how they were defeated. The party ends before Master Xandred can pay a visit. Octoroo states that the party was for those in the Nighlok obituary only.
This maybe part clipshow, but i’s good to see the monsters given a showcase episode which is fitting for Halloween it is also great to see what happens to Monsters after they are defeated.
POWER RANGERS SUPER SAMURAI – TRICKSTER TREAT
Master Xandred and Octoroo deploy a mind-bending Nighlok named Trickster, trapping the Power Rangers in a series of horror movies. The Rangers must figure out what is reality and what is illusion. Will the Rangers escape the nightmare?
Good use of recycled footage, with a new monster that used to his potential.  A very different Halloween episode than use too but a fun one.
POWER RANGERS MEGAFORCE – RAISING SPIRITS
The Mega Rangers are at Ernie’s as Emma plans to make pumpkin pie for them while Gia, Troy and Noah are carving pumpkins. Jake later arrives showing them a fortune teller’s tent (which wasn’t there that morning).
The fortune teller is actually a monster named Glytcher, who can make machines glitch. After giving the Rangers (minus Emma) a bunch of visions of past monsters, Glytcher finds out who the Rangers are.  They morph and fight him but are outmatched even with Robo Knight helping them. Emma later finds out and has Ernie watch the pie for her as she helps them and together, they destroy Glytcher, who grows due to a Zombat. They form the Gosei Great and Gosei Grand Megazords to destroy the monster. At Ernie’s, Ernie presents the five with the pie which was baked for 650 degrees for 3 hours though it was supposed to be 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Jake wants to try it but the pie explodes. The Ranger later say “Ernie!”. A great Halloween episode, yes it may be part clipshow but it is still good and the storyline is again fun. Maybe a Emma episode but there  are some nice Jake and Gia moments.
POWER RANGERS DINO CHARGE – THE GHOSTEST WITH THE MOSTEST
Image result for POWER RANGERS DINO CHARGE THE GHOSTEST WITH MOSTESS
This episode opens up on Sledge’s ship, where Wrench has just completed his resurrection platform. With it, he can bring back any monster the rangers have destroyed. His first target, is Duplicon, who Sledge wants to send to the proper authorities, to collect his bounty. However Duplicon escapes, and makes his way to the prison cells where Curio is, wishing all of the captives a Happy Halloween, and expresses his excitement for going Trick or Treating. Duplicon crashes into Curio, right in front of Memorella’s cell. As Sledge aproches, Memorella uses her powers and reads Sledge’s mind. It’s here, she pitches Sledge an idea he can’t turn down: Memorella will capture a ranger and read its mind, then Duplicon will turn Memorella into that ranger, allowing her to walk into the base, and take the energems. This is a much simpler task as today is also the Amber Beach Dinosaur Museum’s Halloween Party, allowing Memorella to walk right in through the front door without a problem.
Back at the base, Kendall is finishing the touches on the Dino Cupid Charge, dressed as Cupid. The six rangers show up, all in the same bed sheet ghost costumes created by Chase. As the rangers go enjoy the party, Memorella makes her move and captures one of the rangers, and Duplicon transforms her. Kendall calls the rangers back to the base, after detecting alien DNA, and seeing the security footage.Realizing one of the rangers is a fake, Kendall starts interrogating the rangers with a lie detector, by asking them about their experiences. However as Shelby is being asked why she decided to dress up as a princess to fool Fury, Kendall realizes that Memorella is disguised as Koda. Simply because Koda always calls her Kendall, and not Ms. Morgan, as the others do. This theory is proven true as the real Koda slides through the base, having escaped. Koda takes back his energem and Memorella escapes.
The rangers track her down and the battle begins. Using the Cupid Charger, Shelby makes the Vivix fall in love with Memorella who hold her down, while Ivan deals the finishing blow. Sledge infuriated orders the magna beam be fired, and Memorella is supersized. Ivan volunteers to fight Memorella with the Ptera Charge Megazord. However, at Ivan’s request, Tyler joins the fight, using the Pachy Zord, and creates the Ptera Charge Megazord: Pachy formation. Using the wrecking ball, the rangers are victorious.
Back on his ship, Sledge is furious with Duplicon, not only with his failure, but the fact he and Curio went trick or treating as Memorella did all the work. Duplicon tries to explain he didn’t, but Curio comes in with a transport pod full of candy.Infuriated even further, Sledge locks Duplicon up in his stinkiest cell. Back at the Dino Bite Cafe kitchen, Shelby is trying to get the jammed Cupid Charger out of her morpher, when Tyler asks why Shelby did the princess routine. As she tries to explain, Shelby accidentally shoots Chase, where he falls in love with his own reflection.
Dino Charge has just been plain awesome from episode 1 and this Halloween episode is no different, t’s part clipshow but the clips are useful to the story. Kendall looked amazing as always. Great  episode and although it only aired a we ago it’s become one my of favorite episodes

REVIEW: MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS: THE LIVE STAGE SHOW

MMPR Live

CAST

Jason David Frank (The One Warrior)
Johnny Yong Bosch (Blade Anime)
Karen Ashley (Sawed)
David Yost (Degenerate)
Steve Cardenas (A Brothers Badge)

As the stage show begins, the audience is directed to the view screens, where, while working their routine scan of the planet Earth, Alpha 5 and Zordon are alerted to a large teleportation anomaly created by the evil Lord Zedd. Then, as their signal is suddenly shut off, a newscaster named Keith Devon alerts the audience that a huge UFO is about to crashland near their city. The UFO, which was disguised as a meteor, is revealed to be piloted by two aliens who wish to learn the Evil ways of Lord Zedd. They find themselves rapping on the large doors of a dark cave, which Lord Zedd has made his base of operations while on Earth. After revealing his plan to his underlings—Goldar, Rita, Squatt, and Baboo—he orders his Putties to invade the city, in an attempt to lure the Power Rangers out into the open, so that he can capture them and weaken their strength, two by two.

Back at the Command Center, Alpha 5 and Zordon discover that Lord Zedd himself may have landed on Earth—but not in Angel Grove. Alpha 5 discovers that the communications have been jammed, so Zordon enters the Morphing Grid to attempt to overcome the jam so that the Power Rangers can be alerted to the gravity of the latest situation, while Alpha is sent to the coordinates where the UFO had landed, ending up in the random city, where he is ambushed by Putty Patrollers in the park. With help from the audience, Alpha is able to alert the Power Rangers, who morph and teleport to Alpha’s location, ultimately driving off the Putties to protect their friend, but then Zordon explains that Lord Zedd is indeed in the city where the Rangers have transported themselves, so our heroes teleport out and begin their search for Zedd’s temporary base on Earth.

Back at Zedd’s cave, the Emperor of Evil praises the Putties for luring his enemies out into the open, and then uses his staff to produce a fire monster named Lumitor, who can scorch his enemies just by coming in contact with them. Zedd sends Lumitor, Goldar, and more of his Putties to begin another assault on the city, which lures the Rangers into battle with Zedd’s army and results in the Putties’ capture of Adam and Aisha in the middle of the commotion.

Once back at Zedd’s cave, Adam and Aisha attempt to escape, but their exit is blocked by the two space aliens from the UFO. To make matters worse, the two Rangers cannot teleport out while inside Zedd’s cave, and they are soon imprisoned in cages. Meanwhile, at the entrance, Kimberly, Rocky, Tommy, and Billy are trying to gain access inside the cave, when they are alerted by Alpha not to go inside yet, as the communications have been jammed again to prevent the Rangers from being warned by Zordon that going in will mean that the Rangers will be captured themselves. Under Zordon’s orders, the Rangers regroup at the park to await instructions from him.

Inside the cave, Zedd is having fun the only way he knows how—by tormenting the Rangers he has imprisoned and ultimately transforming them into cockatoos. However, the other four Rangers are informed of this and are also instructed to destroy Lumitor. Billy suggests using the Firebird Thunderzord as a cloud seeder, and the Rangers take the Thunder Megazord and White Tigerzord into the city, where they encounter a giant Lumitor and battle him to a virtual standstill. After the Thunderzords change battle modes later on, the Mega Tigerzord launches the Firebird Thunderzord off its right arm, seeding the clouds and causing it to rain, which ultimately results in Lumitor’s destruction.

Meanwhile, in the park, Goldar, Squatt, and Baboo are preparing their trap to capture the other four Rangers, creating a monster they call “Hollow Monster”, who cannot be destroyed except by loud sounds. The Rangers, after they arrive, learn this information thanks to Saba (with a little help from Adam and Aisha, who remember that cockatoos can speak human language sometimes), and ask for the audience’s help. With help from a collective scream, the Rangers force the Hollow Monster to fall apart—literally.

After that adventure, the Rangers discover that Squatt has seemingly been left behind, and they order him to lead them to Zedd’s cave in exchange for his freedom. With help from some trash-talk by Saba, Squatt is tricked into opening the main entrance for the Rangers—or so they think, because soon, the Rangers are once again ambushed by Zedd’s army, which include Goldar and the Putties, as well as the UFO aliens. Then, Zedd makes an appearance himself, larger than life, and dares the Rangers to beat him now that they are cut off from Zordon and their Zords. Billy encourages the audience to reflect Zedd’s magic back at him with special reflectors. After a few moments, Zedd is weakened enough for the Rangers to strike the final blow, which breaks their enemy’s hold on the cave, while also restoring Adam and Aisha to normal. With that done, the Rangers finish what they started, ultimately defeating the Putty Patrollers, as well as the UFO aliens. All of the Rangers’ enemies retreat, and Zordon praises the Rangers for once again doing the impossible. But then, Alpha 5 alerts the Rangers to another situation in Angel Grove. After a short goodbye to all their fans in the audience, the Rangers teleport out and back to Angel Grove.

This was great to see when it first aid on Sky One in the UK and thankfully it was put on the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Shout Factory DVD’s. the costumes maybe crude looking for the villains, but it is aimed at children and is still fun to watch for any power rangers fan.

The Second Power Rangers unlike the first actually does fir into the series, set Before Power Rangers Turbo. Though the movie has had mixed reviews I personally enjoyed it. On the distant planet Liaria, a wizard named Lerigot is fleeing for his life from unseen enemy forces. In desperation, he uses a magical key in his possession to teleport away from them.  In the city of Angel Grove, Power Rangers Tommy Oliver, Adam Park, and Rocky DeSantos are training for an upcoming martial arts charity tournament, but Rocky’s lack of focus while training causes him to fail a jumping kick and land on his spine, critically injuring him. Elsewhere in the city, their fellow Rangers Katherine Hillard and Tanya Sloan are on a school bus helping the children of the Little Angel’s Haven orphanage. Among the kids is a young boy named Justin Stewart, who is stuck in the orphanage due to his father always working and never being around. Kat tries to cheer him up, but Justin shrugs her off.eb41510440d497aff7286336ca6da338--power-rangers-turbo-power-rangers-movieBack on Liaria, the alien pirate Divatox admonishes her soldiers for failing to capture Lerigot and orders her subordinates Rygog and Elgar to find him immediately. They trace the wizard’s path to Earth, and Divatox deduces that he is seeking refuge with Zordon. Their Subcraft immediately lifts off from Liaria and flies towards Earth. At the hospital, Justin comes in to visit Rocky but hides under his bed as the other Rangers come in to pay their sympathy to him. Their communicators suddenly go off as Zordon summons them to the Power Chamber, unaware that Justin has overheard them. Inside the Power Chamber, Zordon and Alpha 5 explain that Lerigot is being pursued by Divatox as part of her plan to awaken and marry the fire demon Maligore, who sleeps on the island of Muranthias. In his panic, Lerigot has landed in the African wilderness and is now at risk of dying from heatstroke. Tommy and Kat agree to locate the wizard and bring him to safety. As they arrive on Earth, Divatox has Elgar capture two humans “of purity and strength” to be used as sacrifices for Maligore. Elgar brings her Bulk and Skull, security guards working under Jerome Stone who had gotten lost on their way to the International Dance-a-Thon when they were captured. Disgusted at his poor choice of sacrifices, Divatox orders Elgar to try again and throws the pair in the Subcraft’s hold.

After a long and dangerous search through Africa, Tommy and Kat find a passed-out Lerigot and revive him with supplies from their Power Boxes, then take him to the Power Chamber to recover. They are soon contacted by Divatox, who demands that Lerigot be surrendered to her immediately. To emphasize, she reveals that she has captured Lerigot’s wife and child, Yara and Bethel, as well as former Power Rangers Jason Lee Scott and Kimberly Ann Hart (both captured while they were scuba-diving), and that she will kill them all if the wizard does not surrender.

On the beach, the Rangers are unable to stop Lerigot as he willingly surrenders to Divatox, and her forces throw back what appear to be Jason and Kimberly into the water as they take him away. The Rangers quickly discover them to be nothing but their empty scuba-suits. Back in the Subcraft, Jason and Kimberly are put in the hold next to Bulk and Skull as they await their fate as Maligore’s sacrifices.  Zordon explains that Lerigot’s magical key is required to ensure safe passage through the Nemesis Triangle, which prevents all ships from reaching Muranthias. A vessel known as the Ghost Galleon can pass through the Triangle, but the Rangers’ current powers will not suffice for this journey. Instead, Zordon creates a new form of power to protect them — the Turbo Keys and Turbozords. Now the Turbo Rangers, Tommy, Kat, Tanya, and Adam quickly adjust to their new Turbozords, the Red Lightning, Wind Chaser, Dune Star, and Desert Thunder, though Rocky’s Mountain Blaster must stay behind due to his injuries. The Rangers arrive at the rendezvous point where the Ghost Galleon awaits its passengers. Before the Rangers board, the Mountain Blaster arrives with its driver… Justin. He explains that he had followed the Rangers to the Power Chamber and was given Zordon’s blessing to become the Blue Turbo Ranger. Now five-strong, the Rangers load the Turbozords onto the Galleon and begin their journey,  Though the Rangers’ Turbo Keys renders the Galleon invisible to Divatox’s Subcraft, Divatox spots them through the periscope and deploys Putra Pods to climb aboard the Galleon and destroy them, though they are fought off. Down in the holds, Jason and Kimberly attempt to escape by pulling apart a bulkhead, a dangerous plan that very nearly drowns them. While Kimberly escapes with Bulk and Skull, Jason snags his shirt and is unable to follow before Divatox seals the bulkhead with the emergency hatch and leaves him trapped. She is displeased that Maligore is going to have to deal with one sacrifice.

After forcing Lerigot to have her Subcraft pass through the Nemesis Triangle, Divatox is shocked to see the Rangers still tailing her, and a call for advice from Rita Repulsa proves useless. The Subcraft fires torpedoes at the Galleon to destroy it, but the Rangers escape to their Turbozords and drive on the ocean surface to reach Muranthias. Kimberly is also found by the Malichians, though Bulk and Skull are left to fend for themselves. Upon making landfall, Divatox convinces the native Malichians (who have Kimberly in their possession) to lead her to Maligore’s temple where they worship him.  Morphing with their Turbo Keys for the first time, the Turbo Rangers give chase to the temple, where Divatox is preparing to throw Jason and Kimberly to the Pit of Eternal Flame and awaken Maligore with a pre-nuptial snack. She sends her Piranhatrons to delay the Rangers as the sacrifices are made and Jason and Kimberly are reincarnated as Maligore’s evil minions.

Turbo A Power Rangers Movie RangersThe Rangers are barely able to keep their own friends from killing them, but Lerigot and Yara use their combined power to restore the pair to normal, allowing the Rangers to draw their Turbo Weapons and focus on the Pirahnatrons. Divatox throws Elgar to the Pit as a new sacrifice, awakening Maligore as he begins throwing the Rangers around effortlessly.3237330e901780d08b3fc4168e9a8a35When Maligore grows in size, the Rangers summon their Turbozords to unite into the Turbo Megazord. After a fierce fight, Maligore is destroyed by the Turbo Megazord, and Divatox flees for her life while swearing revenge on the Power Rangers as the volcano erupts. After recovering Bulk and Skull, the Rangers return to Angel Grove in time for the martial arts tournament. Tommy ultimately wins the tournament, winning a sizable charity donation to the Little Angel’s Haven as well. The Rangers later return to the Power Chamber to see Lerigot and his family off as they go home to Liaria.Turbo A Power Rangers Movie MaligoreAn excellent entry into the power rangers franchise and served as a gateway to Power Rangers Turbo

Power Rangers: Zeo is possibly Power Rangers at it’s best (or Power Rangers in Space). Although the original costumes, command center, zords, and villains have become the main icons for Power Rangers, I personally love the costumes, zords, the power chamber (wow, it looks so cool), and the new villains. The Machine Empire are very entertaining villains, but we get the feeling that they’re also very evil. During the first portion of the show, before we get much storyline, the episodes are absolutely fantastic. It’s great. We then start to move away from individual episodes to having more storyline in the overall show when Tommy goes on a personal journey, and we find out about his brother. We then get a bunch of episodes about the mysterious gold ranger, and as soon as we find out who he is, Jason returns and gets the powers. We then see the Machine Empire changing leaders around, until the final couple of episodes. Power Rangers: Zeo also includes my favorite Power Rangers Christmas/Holiday special, one that celebrates the many different holiday.

Power Rangers: Turbo is considered by many fans to be one of the worst. However, I think it had some fantastic episodes, and even though it wasn’t always as epic as previous seasons, it was still very enjoyable. With Turbo, they’re up against a whiny woman with her clumsy henchmen, and they have new car-themed powers. Although the new villain, Divatox, is nowhere near as menacing as the Machine Empire (or even Rita and Zedd), she and her henchmen always entertain the audience. Their car-themed powers might seem to be a step down from the previous season, but their equipment proves itself to be very useful for these newer situations. Also, a lot of fans might have complained about the newest member of the team being a twelve-year-old boy, but he actually proves himself to be extremely competent. I also think it had a great movie to start it out, which isn’t included in this boxed set, but you should buy it. We have some pretty good episodes at the beginning, and then there is a switchover of rangers. Except for Justin, the kid, all the previous rangers are replaced. The new team is TJ, Cassie, Carlos, Ashley, and, as already mentioned, Justin. We don’t get major introductions to them before they become rangers although Carlos and Ashley appear in a couple of episodes beforehand. However, we get to know them well when they become rangers, and there are some pretty good episodes here. The story-arcs are not my personal favorites, but the individual episodes are mostly great, especially around the end. Although Turbo is not a favorite amongst fans, I find it to be very enjoyable, and a great set-up to the next season. It ends with a two-parter called Chase Into Space, where all of the rangers, except for Justin, leave Earth.

Power Rangers in Space is possibly my favorite, and a favorite for many other fans as well. Zeo is definitely a close second for me, but Power Rangers in Space takes things to a whole new level. The four rangers that replaced the previous rangers in Turbo join up with a ranger from outer space, named Andros. They have high-tech (mostly computer-based) powers, and they regularly travel space. The storyline is large. Power Rangers: Turbo ends where Zordon (who gave them their powers at the beginning) is captured by the monarch of all evil. Power Rangers in Space begins where the villains for all of the previous shows are together at a feast. We are introduced to the new villain, Astronema. Although she is joined by Elgar, the most clumsy henchman, from the previous season, we get the addition of Ecliptor, possibly one of the most impressive henchmen that we’ve seen so far. He’s show to be stronger than any of the other henchmen they’ve been up against, and his relationship with Astronema is much more complex than what we have had so far in Power Rangers.

We are also introduced to Darkonda, possibly the most evil of the villains we’ve had. He and Ecliptor also are rivals with each other, and we get something much more complex than heroes vs. villains. It gets even more complex when we find out that Astronema is Andros’ long lost sister, Karone, and Ecliptor even helps her help the rangers. However, the two of them are brainwashed, and we then get evil power rangers. There is a fantastic story-arc here about the psycho rangers. In previous seasons, we’ve seen evil power rangers, but those rangers were fairly easy to defeat. The psycho rangers, however, are difficult to defeat. Another major part of the storyline is their search for Zordon throughout space. This season ends with a resolution to all of the previous seasons of Power Rangers resolved. Usually for closing seasons (which this was partially meant to be), they regularly bring back people from all the previous seasons to reflect on the show. However, I’m, in many ways, glad that they didn’t do that. There was a little bit of that, but mostly not. This was an amazing season, and it ended the continuous storyline.

Lost Galaxy really has a lot of good upside to it, despite some of its flaws and occasional spotty writing. This season was one of the darkest, with more casualties in this season than any other season, with notable casualties including Kendrix and the Magna Defender (first two rangers to be killed in battle), and the Magna Defender’s son, Zika. Lost Galaxy has a strong cast with some very likable characters such as Leo, Kai, Kendrix, Karone, Maya, and the Magna Defender. While I typically don’t like seeing copy and paste story arcs from the Sentai counterpart, I felt the story surrounding the Magna Defender, Mike, and Leo which was coppied from Gingaman, was well done and fit in really well with the Lost Galaxy story, especially considering Leo’s character, how he cared for his brother, and snuck onto Terra Venture initially. Also adding to the story was the excellent team-up with In Space, the story surrounding Kendrix’s death (unfortunate due to her actress Valarie Varone having leukimia), and Karone’s story as her replacement. Many of the villains are awesome and sympathetic, such as Trakeena, Villamax, and Deviot. The final battle was pretty good as well. Fight scenes were awesome and even the American footage was good during this season. This season’s theme song was also really cool.
