After The Hillickers (Three Finger, Saw Tooth and One Eye) escape from the Glensville Sanatorium, now along with the help for their father of the serial killer Maynard, start a murdering rampage near the city of Fairlake, Greenbrier County, West Virginia, where they first murder news reporter Kaleen Webber.
Meanwhile, five friends: Billy (Simon Ginty), his girlfriend Cruz (Amy Lennox), Lita (Roxanne McKee), her boyfriend Gus (Paul Luebke) and Julian (Oliver Hoare) are on their way to Fairlake, West Virginia to celebrate the Mountain Man Music Festival on Halloween. Along the way, they almost run over Maynard, who attacks them. Billy, Gus and Julian attack Maynard out of self-defense, but are all apprehended along with Lita and Cruz by Sheriff Angela Carter (Camilla Arfwedson) and her partner Deputy Biggs (Kyle Redman Jones). While Sheriff Carter leaves to take them to the police station, the Hillickers appear and kill Deputy Biggs.
After being locked up in the police station, Billy confesses to Sheriff Carter that he owns his friends drugs, and he stays at the police station while they are released. Meanwhile, The Hillickers drive to the city, killing a guard at the power plant and shut down the town’s electricity, since the town have no citizens involved due to an another location, where it take place for the festival instead. The teens register at a motel to stay. On her way to visit Billy, Cruz is chased by Three Finger, who kills her. After leaving the motel, Julian goes back to the police station, only to learn Cruz did not return.
At the motel, the Hillickers capture Gus when he answers the door. Lita is attacked by Saw Tooth, but she manages to escape. The Hillickers proceed to break Gus’s legs, and then dump him in front of the Sheriff’s office. Sheriff Carter attempts to save him, but The Hillickers run over him with their pick-up truck, killing him. Sheriff Carter frees Billy, and gives him, Julian and prisoner Mose (Duncan Wisbey) shotguns after deputizing them. The Sheriff manages to communicate with someone via shortwave town asking them to call for backup, but the man on the other end thinks the message is a joke. Lita manages to make it to the Sheriff’s office, but is almost killed when Mose shoots through the door as she tries to open it. The Sheriff warns Julian and Billy not to go looking for Cruz, but they ignore her warning and go in search of her anyway. They wander the streets and find Cruz’s dead body; while trying to get the body to the Sheriff’s office, they encounter the cannibals and are captured put them in a field. Three Finger kill them both with a snow blower. Sheriff Carter sends Mose to go search for the deputies, but he unknowingly runs over spikes in the road and crashes. He awakens to find himself captured by The Hillickers and they burn him alive.
After hearing Mose’s accident over the radio, Sheriff Carter tries to go for help but discovers her husband bound in a car and tries to help him. She discovers too late that its a trap and he dies, she is then knocked out and captured by Three Finger. After Sheriff Carter leaves, Maynard convinces Lita that if she releases him, he will let her live. However, after releasing him, Maynard proceeds to stab Lita’s eyes out and threatens to rape her. Maynard then leaves the jail to meet up with “his boys”, and Lita stumbles out the opened door. Carter awakens in the jail cell with her hands tied to the ceiling and Maynard gives Carter the option of her death, which is to be burned alive by fire or from a shotgun with the trigger tied to her feet, which will go off if she steps down. They then proceed to burn down the cell. As her feet begin to burn, Carter eventually triggers the shotgun, killing herself. Lita is then seen walking down the road, unable to see, asking for help when a truck stops. As Lita climbs in the truck and thinks she is saved, the occupants are revealed to be Maynard and the Hillickers. The film ends with Lita screaming in terror, as the tow truck leaves them away into the night.

Its the fifth movie in the franchise and they get more and more fun! I personally love these movies, if you’re a massive fan like me you know exactly what to expect, blood and guts and total carnage all true R rated style and there is plenty of the red stuff in this movie, the story is different to previous films and helps it evolve into several more sequels hopefully, Doug Bradley is very good in his role probably his most sinister since Hellraiser with some cool dialogue, the deaths are all well thought up and surprisingly its not too predictable, great trashy horror fun made for the fans only!

Having won three victories, Robb Stark offers the Lannisters peace in exchange for the North’s independence, sending Theon Greyjoy to gain Balon Greyjoy’s support and Catelyn Stark to seek Renly Baratheon’s. Cersei Lannister rejects Robb’s terms. Meanwhile, Tyrion Lannister exiles Janos Slynt, head of the Gold Cloaks, to the Wall, promoting Bronn to commander of the watch.
Catelyn arrives at King Renly’s camp to negotiate an alliance, and Brienne of Tarth wins the right to join Renly’s guard. Catelyn and Brienne witness Renly’s murder at the hands of dark magic sent by the ‘Red Lady’ Melisandre, an emissary of Renly’s brother and rival claimant to the Iron Throne Stannis Baratheon. Catelyn and Brienne flee Renly’s camp and rejoin Robb’s army as Renly’s supporters switch their allegiance to Stannis. Meanwhile, Theon betrays the Starks by siding with his father and seizing Winterfell by force. Robb receives news of Theon’s plans and sends men to retake Winterfell, while inside the city the Starks’ allies form plans to sneak Bran and Rickon Stark out.
Robb learns that his mother Catelyn has secretly freed Jaime Lannister, now escorted by Brienne of Tarth, in order to ransom her daughters Sansa and Arya; he also enters into a romantic relationship with Volantene healer Talisa Maegyr. Yara Greyjoy arrives at Winterfell to bring Theon back to the Iron Islands, after his botched attempt to recapture the Stark boys.
Tywin Lannister leaves Harrenhal, which allows Arya, Gendry and Hot Pie to make an escape with the help of the enigmatic Jaqen H’ghar. In King’s Landing, Cersei attempts to blackmail Tyrion by abducting the prostitute, Ros, whom Cersei believes to be his secret lover. Leading the defense against Stannis’ attack on King’s Landing, Tyrion destroys many of the attacking craft with an exploding ship full of wildfire, and is forced to lead a counterattack as King Joffrey Baratheon and his bodyguard Sandor Clegane each desert the battlefield. Stannis’s forces make it inside the castle, but Tyrion leads his men behind the Baratheon forces via underground tunnels and attacks. Baratheon is defeated when Tywin’s forces arrive at King’s Landing shortly after.
Following Khal Drogo’s death, Daenerys and the remnants of her khalasar find refuge in the city of Qarth, where they are taken in by the merchant Xaro Xhoan Daxos. However, Xaro conspires with the warlock Pyat Pree to kill most of Daenerys’ servants, kidnap her dragons and assume control of Qarth. Daenerys is lured into a showdown with Pyat Pree at the House of the Undying, where her dragons kill Pyat Pree. Daenerys seals Xaro in his own vault as punishment for his treachery and leaves Qarth with Jorah and her remaining servants.
Whilst on a ranging beyond the Wall, Jon Snow captures a Wildling, Ygritte, who soon leads him into a trap where he himself is captured by Ygritte’s fellow wildlings. Amongst the wildlings’ prisoners is fellow ranger Qhorin Halfhand, who convinces Jon to kill him in order to gain the wildlings’ trust so he can get close to their leader, King-beyond-the-Wall Mance Rayder. The rest of the rangers set up camp at an ancient fortification, the Fist of the First Men, where they come under attack from an ancient enemy, the White Walkers.
Season 2 is superior to Season 1. This show is quite extraordinary and just gets better and better as it progresses. Although the climax of each episode means the end, it’s not without some amazing cliffhanger which makes you crave for more.

If you have read the books then you will have the added advantage of going into this series with some serious background knowledge, which, given the expanse of Martin’s literature, can only be a good thing. It is good to see the characters portrayed on screen by, what can only be described as, an excellent cast. My personal favourites are Sean Bean  who plays Lord Eddard Stark, the proud, strong and brave Lord of Winterfell, the icy kingdom of the north. And, Peter Dinklage, who gives, as ever, a wonderful performance as Tyrion of House Lannister, a noble-born dwarf cursed by the hatred of his proud father but blessed with an unmatchable wit and intelligence.

Martin’s fantasy literature is about believability and realism; it is completely unlike Tolkien in that way. Whereas Tolkien favoured Orcs, Goblins, castles and wizards, Martin prefers the medieval touch, dealing with knights, lords and priests. One good thing is that Martin had a very close hand in the production of this series which means very little tinkering has been done. If you compare it to The Pillars of the Earth for example, parts of the tv series didn’t even come close to representing what happened in the book leaving hardcore fans a little bewildered, and not a little irritated. Martin’s books though are so jam-packed with plot and character building that there really isn’t much room for artistic license for the directors. They have a lot of story to get through, and only 10 episodes to do it in!!

If you have never read Martin before then, what can you expect? Well, it is fantasy first and foremost . Without spoiling or giving anything away the main plot is basically this: the continent of Westeros, ruled by king Robert Baratheon, falls into turmoil amidst a hungry power struggle between the realms nobles and knights. Expect a lot of plot twists and cliffhangers at the end of each episode. I would highly recommend people to take the time to see this series and get into the number 1 fantasy series of the modern era.

In 1200 BC ancient Greece, King Amphitryon of Tiryns invades Argos. Amphitryon eventually fights rival King Galenus in personal combat, killing Galenus and seizing his kingdom. Queen Alcmene is disgusted by her husband’s thirst for power and warmongering. She prays to Hera for guidance and Hera, wife of Zeus, tells her that she will allow Zeus to impregnate Alcemene with the savior of her people, a demi-god son to be named Hercules. The only other witness to this is Chiron, the queen’s loyal adviser. Amphitryon names his new “son” Alcides, though Alcmene secretly acknowledges his true name as Hercules. Twenty years later, Prince Alcides (Hercules) is the lover of Princess Hebe of Crete. Hercules and his older brother, Prince Iphicles, are attacked by a lion, which Hercules wrestles and kills. Iphicles takes all the credit and arrives at a royal banquet wearing the lion’s pelt as a cloak and calls his brother a coward, though Hebe sees through this lie. At the banquet Amphitryon announces the engagement of Hebe and Iphicles, while Hercules is sent away to a military campaign in Egypt.

Alcemene tells him of his true lineage and that his name is Hercules, not Alcides. Hercules vows to return to Hebe in three moons, before her impending nuptials. He joins the command of Captain Sotiris in the Egyptian desert, where their small company is ambushed, leaving “Alcides” and Sotiris as the last survivors. When the leader of the ambush demands to know where the prince is, Sotiris gestures to the body of a slain soldier, while Hercules finally uses his gods-given name to conceal his identity as the prince. It is revealed that Amphitryon arranged the ambush to eliminate Hercules. The two are sold off as slaves to a promoter of gladiator style fights, where they excel. The two ask the promoter to take them to Greece to fight in an arena battle, where the two will fight six undefeated gladiators and potentially make the promoter a wildly rich man. When Sotiris is injured in a battle before leaving for Greece, Hercules convinces the promoter to set Sotiris free and he will fight all six gladiators himself. Sotiris secretly follows him to Greece.

Alcmene and Hebe mourn the death of Alcides/Hercules. When Alcmene seeks guidance from Hera, Amphitryon discovers her and learns the truth of Hercules’ parentage and that he is fated to overthrow him. Amphitryon stabs Alcmene with her own dagger, then tells Chiron that the Queen committed suicide in her grief. Meanwhile, Hercules arrives in Greece and easily beats the six gladiators in battle. The people celebrate his victory and deserters of Amphitryon’s army join him and Sotiris.Hebe is in anguish after the death of Alcides and dreads her pending wedding to Iphicles She tries to leap off the roof of the palace but is saved by Chiron who brings her to Hercules. Amphitryon’s army begins to desert him, forcing him to hire foreign mercenaries when Hercules and Sotiris begin a fight against Amphitryon’s campaign of tyranny. Iphicles threatens Sotiris’ son’s life, forcing Sotiris to lead him to Hercules. Iphicles is surprised to discover that Hercules is Alcides. Hercules is chained and publicly flogged, then watches in horror as Iphicles murders Chiron under Amphitryon’s orders. In anguish he acknowledges Zeus as his father and calls upon him for strength. Hercules breaks free from his chains and kills Amphitryon’s guard, though Amphitryon and Iphicles escape.Hercules and Sotiris raise an army and storm Amphitryon’s palace. Amphitryon’s palace guard join Hercules and his army and they battle Amphitryon’s mercenaries. Hercules calls upon his father who infuses his sword with the power of lightning. Hercules defeats the mercenaries with his lightning sword, then meets Amphitryon in personal combat. Hercules nearly defeats Amphitryon but Iphicles holds Hebe hostage and threatens to kill her if Hercules does not let Amphitryon go. Hercules hesitates but Hebe thrusts the dagger through her shoulder, killing Iphicles. Hercules finally avenges Alcmene’s death and kills Amphitryon with the same blade that killed his mother. Hercules rushes to Hebe’s side as she slowly drifts into unconsciousness. Nearly a year later, the cries of a baby are heard, Hercules’ and Hebe’s baby boy. That night, he watches over his kingdom, finally fulfilling his destiny. After listening to all the bad reviews and press this movie has had, I didn’t fancy it much. Having watched it, I’m glad that I did. It may not have big named stars but it is of no consequence as the movie is entertaining and action packed.
