Kaley Cuoco and Melissa Rauch in The Big Bang Theory (2007)It is hard to believe that if it hadn’t been for CBS ordering a second pilot, The Big Bang Theory would have never existed. That first pilot was a disaster, as indicated by creator Chuck Lorre. Kaley Cuoco, Melissa Rauch, and Rati Gupta in The Big Bang Theory (2007)The original female lead of Katie, played by Amanda Walsh, was unlikeable and was not a motherly figure to the child-like geniuses, almost the exact opposite of Penny (Kaley Cuoco) who would appear in the retooled second pilot. It was the chemistry among the five actor ensemble that would convince CBS to pick up that second pilot with a 13-episode order for the 2007-2008 TV season that would later be expanded to 22, but due to a Writer’s Guild strike in late 2007, that order was reduced to only 17. The original cast consisted of Experimental Physicist Leonard Hofstadter (Johnny Galecki) and his room mate Theoretical Physicist Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons), Waitress/Actress Penny (Kaley Cuoco) as the girl across the hall, Aerospace Engineer Howard Wolowitz (Simon Helberg) and his best friend Particle Astrophysicist Rajesh Koothrappali (Kunal Nayyar) who at first is unable to speak to women unless he is inebriated.Mayim Bialik and Jim Parsons in The Big Bang Theory (2007)Over the twelve seasons, the characters would mature, Leonard and Penny would have an on and off dating relationship eventually leading to marriage, Howard would be given the opportunity to install his invention on the International Space Station and marry Microbiologist and pharmaceutical chemist Bernadette (Melissa Rauch), Sheldon would meet and after eight years eventually marry Neuroscientist Amy Farrah Fowler (Mayim Bialik) on a dating site after the gang creates a profile for Sheldon, and Rajesh would give up the monetary support from his parents and eventually gain enough self-confidence to give public lectures at the Griffith Observatory. The writers would also end the series on a high note with a fan-pleasing finale that brought closure to the series but not the characters, not making the mistake that some shows did, like Friends, with everyone disbanding and saying goodbye.Simon Helberg and Jim Parsons in The Big Bang Theory (2007)This show was incredible, and something fresh, even at times brilliant. and sad to see it end.

Johnny Galecki in The Big Bang Theory (2007)Leonard, Sheldon, Penny, Howard, Raj, Amy and Bernadette are all back for one of television’s funniest and most successful shows – The Big Bang Theory. Once again I’m here to remind you that I’m not just making that hogwash up either. It’s time to let the facts talk for themselves. In its eleventh season, The Big Bang Theory garnered an audience of nearly 19 million Weekly Viewers, solidifying its spot as one of the top sitcoms, and broadcast programs in general, across all demographics. Boom! How’s that for fact checking (thank you to our source the Nielsen National TV View). Thus you can now reasonably deduce that The Big Bang Theory continues to entertain and excite viewers and critics all over the world. Since it’s now September, fans will be able to re-live every laugh and enjoy The Big Bang Theory.

Kevin Sussman, Kunal Nayyar, and Swati Kapila in The Big Bang Theory (2007)The hit CBS sitcom stars series favorites Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting, Simon Helberg, Kunal Nayyar, Mayim Bialik, Melissa Rauch and Kevin Sussman are all back this eleventh season.. In Season 10 we saw guest star appearances from Katey Sagal, Jack McBrayer and Breaking Bad‘s Dean Norris. Big guest stars this season include Walton Goggins, Bill Gates, Teller, Kathy Bates, Mark Hamill and more. Those alone are some pretty heavy hitters, don’t you agree? The latter was really appreciative to be part of this show. Returning regulars like Stephen Hawking, Will Wheaton, Bob Newhart, Laurie Metcalf, Christine Baranski and others we all know and love revisit throughout this season from time-to-time too. And yes, there is a tribute episode to the late, great Mr. Hawking, the show’s most beloved guest star.Melissa Rauch in The Big Bang Theory (2007)With Leonard and Penny having officially tied the knot this season is all about Sheldon and Amy doing the very much the same. Quite honestly that topic is a little exhausting as the bulk of the episodes are about that subject. Nonetheless though those classic Big Bang Theory zingers thrown at you that will make your side and insides hurt in a good way through the power of laughter. The onscreen chemistry and charisma is still all there. We also find Raj still desperately looking for love while at the same time finding a new career in the cosmos. Then there’s the expanding family of Howard and Bernadette’s with one of my favorites still very much in the mix, Stuart. Howard has a son! Lucky man!Jim Parsons in The Big Bang Theory (2007)So as you can see all the major attractions of the show are very much still in play, but I do have to admit that the show is running out of steam a bit. It’s obviously not the same 4-guy nerdy, geek sitcom anymore. The show is very much about maturity and growth. It’s now all about the family and as we left off in Young Sheldon last year…the kids too. Rest assured though there are still those classic Big Bang Theory zingers thrown at you that will make your side and insides hurt in a good way through the power of laughter. The Big Bang Theory continues to provide the laughs throughout the eleventh season here, but sadly it’s all over after season 12.

Simon Helberg and Jim Parsons in The Big Bang Theory (2007)Relationships are a key element of the season, which starts with the socially-awkward Sheldon stuck in an Arizona railroad station without any pants, the victim of poorly-received changes in his life. What exactly is going on between him and Amy, as well as what is happening with Penny and Leonard and their extended engagement, are the engine of this run of episodes, as Sheldon faces the need to overcome his off-putting personality, and Leonard has to overcome Penny’s new-found success.Johnny Galecki, Simon Helberg, Jim Parsons, and Kunal Nayyar in The Big Bang Theory (2007)After seven seasons, the show hasn’t felt the need to artificially change its main characters and their lives, instead going in a more organic direction, choosing to highlight change that happens naturally in a relationship. That evolution also powers an impactful cliffhanger of a season finale.Johnny Galecki, Simon Helberg, and Jim Parsons in The Big Bang Theory (2007)The series did have a sudden change to cope with though, when Carol Ann Susi, the actress who gave voice to Howard’s unseen harpy of a mother, died, and her passing was written into the series, creating more change for Howard and giving a bit of a goose to the other characters, who took from her death in different ways.Mayim Bialik, Kaley Cuoco, Johnny Galecki, Simon Helberg, Jim Parsons, Melissa Rauch, and Kunal Nayyar in The Big Bang Theory (2007)Season 8 once again had excellent guest stars such as Laurie Metcalf, Christine Baranski, Billy Bob Thornton, Nathan Fillion, Wil Wheaton and Stephen Hawking. The Shocking Cliffhanger leaves fans wondering where certain relationships will end up.

This season picks up exactly where the last one left off. Leonard (Johnny Galecki) is on a ship in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean on a research trip. Back at home, the gang must learn to deal with his absence, especially his roommate Sheldon (Jim Parsons) and his girlfriend Penny (Kaley Cuoco). However, when he comes back, his desire to spend some time with Penny over Sheldon shows the beginnings of the first changes in the group, a theme that actually echoed through the season.Kevin Sussman and Jim Parsons in The Big Bang Theory (2007)Following up on the sixth season finale, Raj (Kunal Nayyar) is now able to talk to girls even when he’s sober. What didn’t change there is that he still isn’t a lady’s man, although it does open up a few new relationship possibilities for him. Speaking of relationships, Sheldon and Amy (Mayim Bialk) wind up taking what for them is a huge step forward in their relationship on a romantic train ride up to the Napa Valley. Penny makes a huge change to forward her career as an actress and finds herself in a less than desirable roll opposite a surprising co-star. I would argue that the only main characters not to have major changes this season are Howard (Simon Helberg) and Bernadette (Melissa Rauch), but since they adjusted to married life last season, maybe that’s for the best. They still get some great stories, like Howard’s drastic change after trying to help out his mother and how they deal with having Raj has a house guest for a week.Kaley Cuoco and Jim Parsons in The Big Bang Theory (2007)And the geekiness continues. Stuart (Kevin Sussman) and his comic book store regularly appear in the series. When the guys don’t get into Comic Con, Sheldon decides to start his own, leading to a day with James Earl Jones. Speaking of which, the show finally celebrates Star Wars day in what is a touching and funny episode featuring the third appearance of comedy legend Bob Newhart.

Mayim Bialik, Kaley Cuoco, and Melissa Rauch in The Big Bang Theory (2007)Season 6 starts off with 5 overarching plot episodes based around Howard’s trip to space and return to Earth with a less than warm welcome. These are some very good episodes, the premiere has some nice moments during Amy and Sheldon’s anniversary. Another highlight in the first 5 is when Game night turns into Men vs Women. These episodes put quite a bit of spotlight onto Howard and his accomplishment that no one else acknowledges, and I enjoyed them immensely, some character developing episodes for him.The season has some great highlight episodes.Kaley Cuoco and Jim Parsons in The Big Bang Theory (2007)We get a very good dramatic episode  called “The Closet Reconfiguration” where Sheldon being Sheldon, he cleans out Howard’s closet and comes across an unopened letter sent to Howard from his father who abandoned him. They all get to show off their acting chops in this episode (especially Helberg). We get another appearance from Wil Wheaton in “The Habitation Configuration” (Which Jim Parsons just won an Emmy for his work in) that turns into another fantastic episode when Sheldon has to choose between his friend or his girlfriend. “The Closure Alternative” involves one of Sheldon’s favorite shows being cancelled, and lastly “The Proton Resurgence”, which features Bob Newhart in an Emmy award winning guest appearance as Sheldon’s childhood hero, Professor Proton.Mayim Bialik, Kaley Cuoco, Johnny Galecki, and Jim Parsons in The Big Bang Theory (2007)As for the relationships, this season was a huge one. Leonard and Penny finally take the next step in their relationship. Sheldon and Amy continue to move forward at a Snails pace, with Sheldon finally considering more. Raj gets some much needed character development when he finally finds a girlfriend, who is essentially A reflection of himself, named Lucy. The cast is as great as ever, with their chemistry remaining tip top…Parsons again steals the show with his excellent physical comedy and strong delivery of his dialogue.Simon Helberg and Melissa Rauch in The Big Bang Theory (2007)Galecki plays off perfectly against Jim. Simon Helberg gets some meat to chew on this season and he kills it, especially the episode where he finds the letter from his father that was sent years earlier. The writing remains witty and top notch, that is conveyed perfectly on screen through the excellent performers. The writers need to continue with this great writing, The Big Bang Theory proves here why it’s still one of the funniest shows on TV.

Watchmen is a bold, ambitious show. There’s no mistaking it for some wallflower or small, quiet drama. This is a big-budget, high-profile production that declares its presence. You can’t ignore it and you wouldn’t want to because it’s extremely compulsive viewing. The latest offering from HBO, the nine-episode Watchmen is based on Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons’ iconic and beloved 1980s comic book series of the same name.Jeremy Irons in Watchmen (2019)Before you roll your eyes and chuck a Scorsese or Coppola and go, “oh, it’s a comics thing,” know that Watchmen strikes a hard-to-achieve balance between spectacle and groundedness. And you don’t need to be familiar with the comics or the 2009 Zack Snyder movie adaptation to dig in. Created for TV by Lost and The Leftovers’ Damon Lindelof, this version of Watchmen has been described as more of a companion series. Lindelof explained it as, if the comics were the Old Testament, then this series is the New Testament — and there are still plenty of Easter eggs and direct references for old fans. The original comics were set in the mid-1980s and the TV show time jumps to our present day, 2019. So it’s set some 30 years after the events of the books, and only carries over a handful of the characters. The world of Watchmen is similar to ours except there’s no internet, throngs of tiny squid sometimes rain from the sky and Robert Redford has been the US president since the 1990s.The early focus is on Angela Abar (Regina King), a Tulsa, Oklahoma police detective whose masked persona is known as Sister Night. To the outside world, she’s a retired cop after a calamitous event some three years earlier. But in reality, she’s one of legion of masked cops who now have to hide their identities for fear of retribution against them and their families — despite the fact vigilante heroes are now outlawed.Yahya Abdul-Mateen II in Watchmen (2019)The villain(s) of the series is a white supremacist group called The Seventh Cavalry who have co-opted the now-dead anti-hero Rorschach’s image on their masks. They’re the ones who are violently targeting police in Tulsa. But when both the good guys and the bad guys wear masks, who can you really trust? In Watchmen, the police go too far, meting out extrajudicial justice with little hesitation. At one point, one character says to another, “You know how you can tell the difference between a masked cop and a vigilante?” to which the other responds, “No”. While the show exists in an alternate version of our world and many of its markers feel heightened and exaggerated, it feels very resonant of America in 2019. The series is racially charged and declares itself so in the opening sequence which is a dramatisation of the real-life Tulsa race riots in which white mobs killed hundreds of African-Americans and injured even more.Regina King in Watchmen (2019)Watchmen plays in the grey space between black and white with its moral complexity. While we follow Angela, she also commits acts we personally wouldn’t approve of from our own law enforcement. This constant negotiation of our empathies is the kind of layered storytelling Lindelof excels in, having done so previously in The Leftovers, another HBO series. Watchmen is packed with striking visuals — the first two episodes are directed by Nicole Kassell — and the production values are extraordinary, including a visceral score by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. Clearly a lot of money has been spent and it shows. The pilot episode is strong and has a great twist that guarantees you’ll be back for more. It also features compelling performances from Oscar winner King, Don Johnson as Tulsa police chief Judd Crawford, Tim Blake Nelson as Looking Glass and Louis Gossett Jr as the mysterious Will Reeve. These are new characters to the Watchmen world.Among the comic original characters, there’s Jeremy Irons as Adrian Veidt, also known as Ozymandias, who is now exiled (as it were) in a luxurious country estate where he delights in strange games with his strange servants. But it’s Jean Smart as Laurie Blake/Silk Spectre who steals the third episode, which is her first appearance. The former superhero is now working for the FBI in the anti-vigilante squad and her combination of no-bullshit tenacity, concealed vulnerability and killer instincts make her a magnetic character. The very blue-hued and powered Doctor Manhattan will also appear. Watchmen is a thrilling and scintillating series that is sure to find armies of fans, old and new, who will undoubtedly be besotted. You might as well see for yourself what they’re all going to be obsessing about.

Both are comforts to Kyle when his father, unable to deal with his transformation, has abandoned him.Vanessa Hudgens and Alex Pettyfer in Beastly (2011)As spring nears, Kyle finds himself infatuated with Lindy Taylor (Vanessa Hudgens), a former classmate he had avoided. He rescues her drug-addicted father from two dealers, shooting one; the other vows to kill Lindy. Kyle persuades Lindy’s father to allow her to move in with him. At first, Kyle uses a false identity, refuses to see Lindy, and hides from her, which angers her to the point that she stops speaking to him. Kyle eventually reveals his face and the two begin to warm up to each other. Kyle writes a letter professing his love for Lindy but does not give it to her for fear of rejection. He visits Kendra to plead for more time; she refuses, but agrees to restore Will’s vision and grant green cards to Zola’s three children in Jamaica if he gets Lindy to fall in love with him.Vanessa Hudgens and Alex Pettyfer in Beastly (2011)The surviving drug dealer lands in jail. Kyle’s former self is restored but Lindy does not recognize him and tries to call Hunter but Kyle’s phone rings instead. When Lindy realizes what happened, the two share a passionate kiss on the side of the street. After the curse is lifted Will wakes up with the ability to see, and Zola receives the green cards. Kendra approaches Rob Kingson’s office as a new intern, implying that she will test Rob like she did Kyle.Vanessa Hudgens and Alex Pettyfer in Beastly (2011)Beastly is a modern fairytale of “Beauty and the Beast.” I have not read the book, but there is no need. This movie definitely did it justice. If you enjoy the fairy tale then this is a must see to see the story told in the modern time.

Charlie Hinton is a food products marketing executive whose wife Kim Hinton has just gone back to work as a lawyer. They enroll their child, Ben Hinton, in Chapman Academy, a very academic pre-school headed by a woman named Miss Harridan. But when Kim finds out how much the parents have to pay per month, she takes Ben out of Chapman and looks for other daycare facilities. Some time later, Charlie and his best friend, Phil Ryerson, are laid off. Unable to find either a suitable daycare or new employment, Charlie decides to open up a day care center in his home with the help of Phil, and calls it Daddy Day Care. At first, the local parents are suspicious of men wanting to work with kids, but as Daddy Day Care is cheaper and more child-centered than Chapman Academy, the latter begins to lose students.Unwilling to accept the presence of competition, Miss Harridan attempts to shut down Daddy Day Care by notifying child services that Charlie and Phil are not following the relevant regulations. Mr. Dan Kubitz, a director of child services, notifies them of the codes that need to be fixed, which Charlie and Phil quickly correct. Daddy Day Care grows in popularity and attracts more children. Mr. Kubitz informs Phil and Charlie that they need another employee to keep an appropriate ratio of children to caregivers. Luckily, Marvin, a nerdy former co-worker, had dropped by, and after seeing how good he is at entertaining the children, Phil and Charlie ask him about joining. Marvin is unsure at first, but then finds himself falling for Kelli, the single mother of Dylan and agrees.Later, Mr. Kubitz tells them they have too many kids to stay at Charlie’s residence. They find an abandoned building with potential, but do not have the money to buy it. They hold a fund-raising event called “Rock for Daddy Day Care”, which Miss Harridan finds out about. She and her assistant, Jenny, wreck the festival by unplugging a bouncy castle, filling the food with cockroaches, switching face paint with glue, releasing animals from the petting zoo, and turning on the park sprinklers. Daddy Day Care does not raise enough money. Shortly after, Charlie and Phil are offered their old jobs back, accepting Miss Harridan’s offer to take the kids back to the academy. Marvin, heartbroken by the closing of the day care, declines Charlie and Phil’s offer to be on board their marketing panel.Charlie soon realizes during a cereal pitch that the time he has given to his new life, and the increased bond with his son is “the most important thing”, and starts to question the morality of his current assignment (which involves marketing high-sugar breakfast cereal to children). He quits his job and tells Phil to quit with him. Then he and Phil pick up Marvin before heading off to Chapman Academy. During the confrontation between Miss Harridan and Charlie, Jenny makes the comparisons between the two. She discovers that unlike her boss, Charlie and Phil actually took the time to get to know the children to understand their needs. They successfully convince the children and their parents to return to Daddy Day Care, making it a raging success, causing Chapman Academy to shut down for good. Marvin is now in a relationship with Kelli, Miss Harridan gets demoted to a crossing guard, and Jenny joins Daddy Day Care at the new facility. The movie is harmless and fun. Not a great film, just a fun one to pass the time.

Elle hires a detective to find Bruiser’s mother, only to discover that the owner of her dog’s mother is C’est Magnifique, a cosmetics company that uses Bruiser’s mother for “testing”. She finds out that her law firm represents the C’est Magnifique Corporation.Elle decides to leave Boston, where she and Bruiser have settled with her fiancé Emmett, and go to Washington, D.C., to work on Bruiser’s Bill. Elle is upset that her dog’s mother is in a make-up testing laboratory, and decides to take it upon herself to be the “voice for those who can’t speak” and to outlaw animal testing. While working for Congresswoman Victoria Rudd, Elle is met with skepticism and other barriers common to Washington politics. Rudd’s member of staff, Timothy, sarcastically calls her “Capitol Barbie”. After a variety of ups and downs including a failed attempt to improve her work environment by having her co-workers write compliments about one another and place them in the “snap cup”, Elle starts to lose her faith in Washington politics. As the story moves along, Elle discovers that Bruiser is actually gay, after she is paged by “The Paws that Refreshes: A Doggy Day Spa”. Bruiser has been affectionate with Leslie, a Rottweiller owned by Congressman Stan Marks, the Chairman of the Committee on Energy and Commerce which has jurisdiction over Bruiser’s Bill. Elle also finds that Congresswoman Libby Hauser, the Ranking Member of the same committee, was a member of Elle’s sorority Delta Nu. As a result, both Marks and Hauser warm to Elle and eventually come to support Bruiser’s Bill.Elle also discovers that Congresswoman Rudd has actually been working against her. Rudd has been doing so in an effort to satisfy the interests of a major campaign donor named “Bob” (who is never seen, but with whom Rudd has several telephone conversations). However, Rudd is eventually blackmailed into supporting Elle’s petition, because Rudd’s Chief of Staff, Grace Rossiter, eavesdrops on a recorded conversation during which Rudd admits to Elle that she has been working against Bruiser’s Bill in order to help Rudd’s sponsors who want to continue with tests on animals. As Grace is appalled that Rudd lied to Elle and blamed it on her, Grace and Elle eventually reach a place of mutual respect, especially after Grace admits she came to Washington D.C. with an enthusiasm not unlike Elle’s, but later lost that idealism when she discovered how dirty politics could really be.With the help of her friends, Elle’s discharge petition is successful, and Bruiser’s Bill is brought to the floor of the House. Bruiser’s mother and the rest of the dogs are released by C’est Magnifique Corporation. Elle and Emmett get married in a park in D.C., albeit not at Fenway Park as they had planned, but standing on the home plate which has been delivered to D.C. by the UPS Guy. In the final scene, Emmett asks Elle whether they want to live in Beverly Hills, Washington D.C., or Boston. As Elle has many legal and political job offers after the successful discharge hearing, she responds, “Oh, I think I know just the place,” and winks as they drive by the White House. Not as good as the original but still a good flick. Still some good laugh and well worth a watch.

Three weeks after the events of the first film, FBI agent Gracie Hart (Sandra Bullock) has become a celebrity after she infiltrated a beauty pageant on her last assignment. Her fame results in her cover being blown while she is trying to prevent a bank heist.

To capitalize on the publicity, the FBI decide to make Gracie the new “face” of the FBI; Gracie, who is hurt after being dumped by her boyfriend, fellow Agent Eric Matthews (who is relocated to Miami), agrees to the reassignment. Ten months later, she begins appearing on morning television giving out fashion advice and promoting her book.MV5BODM1NjIyNzg5MF5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTcwNzc0ODA4Nw@@._V1_SX1499_CR0,0,1499,999_AL_However, when Cheryl (Miss United States, played by Heather Burns), and Gracie’s friend Stan Fields (William Shatner) are kidnapped in Las Vegas, Gracie is prompted to return to her old ways. She goes undercover to try to rescue Cheryl and Stan accompanied by her bodyguard Sam Fuller (Regina King), whom she despises. This puts her at odds with the FBI, as they are unwilling to lose their mascot and are unsure if she’s still up to the tasks. Brian Cosford (Ross Adam), Gracie’s closest confidant help assure her that she is still “armed and fabulous.”Regina King is terrific as the partner/antagonist and Diedrich Bader hams it up convincingly as an over-the-top style guru (the successor to the character played brilliantly by Michael Caine in the first movie). But most of the truly hilarious moments are down to William Shatner. Sandra Bullock is at her most daring comedic genius.
