What’s really great about the first season is that you get to see the writers trying to figure out what direction the show should take, this provides some interesting experiments as well as some classic episodes. Season 1 does not have a lot of amazing scenes or laugh out loud moments but it does have a sense of realism to it and can actually tackle some pretty dark themes, such as Lisa having depression or Homer trying to commit suicide.kalasIt really does feel great when there’s a happy ending because you do want to see these characters succeed, especially when you can relate to their problems and empathise with them. I really liked Homer’s characterisation here, he is just an average man who just happens to make a few honest mistakes and I think that he has a genuine charm to him. He never does anything hilarious but some of his one liners did get a chuckle out of me.The episodes revolving around Bart were probably the funniest. Although this season proves you don’t always need a lot of jokes to tell a good story, “Life on the Fast Lane” is a fantastic Homer and Marge episode that treats the audience with a lot of maturity and though I personally do not find it very funny, I am still invested in the plot.MV5BMzk4ZDU2OTMtZjM0NC00ZWIyLWFmNmQtMjcyZGQ1OWE0ZWMyXkEyXkFqcGdeQXVyNTAyODkwOQ@@._V1_Even though the plots and characterizations are a lot more subtle when compared to later seasons, there is still a sense of wackiness to it, the best example being “The Call of the Simpsons” where Homer is mistaken for Bigfoot. Obviously in the first season of any show not every episode will be a success but when Season 1 does things right, it can be a pretty damn good season with just a few hiccups here and there.

Season 2 is basically a new and improved version of season 1, the tone is still very similar but now the characters are more developed and the plots have started to become a lot more intelligent. One of the best things about this season is the way it portrays Homer and Marge’s relationship, you never doubt even for a second that they truly love each other.MV5BZGY0N2RmNDYtNzIwNy00YTcxLTk3Y2YtMTAwNjVlMGRmODdhXkEyXkFqcGdeQXVyNTAyODkwOQ@@._V1_Even something so simple as Marge singing to Homer to cheer him up in “Simpson and Delilah” is very effective and I really do have to give credit to Dan Castellaneta and Julie Kavner for the amazing vocal performances. The voice acting in this season is brilliant and it does make the emotional scenes are a lot more powerful. This season also starts to develop the secondary characters, whenever Mr. Burns appears in an episode you know it’s going to lead to some very good moments and even Ned Flanders and Principal Skinner have a chance to shine.MV5BZDFiZGMxOTctZjNiZS00NzAzLTg0MjMtNjFjN2Q0MGY4ZDZmXkEyXkFqcGdeQXVyNTAyODkwOQ@@._V1_The wide variety of different characters and personalities was one the main reasons that the show was so good. The storylines are also great, tackling mature issues such as censorship or the corruption of government politics and the show never talks down to its audience. These writers are so talented that not only can they make us laugh, but they can also make us think as well.

This is my personal favorite season of The Simpsons. The first disc has it’s moments, Homer Defined”, “Bart The Murderer”, “Stark Raving Dad” and “When Flanders Failed” are all great episodes.MV5BOWJlYTI5NmEtY2NmZS00YTcwLWExZTYtNjExMzRjNjFlYTcxXkEyXkFqcGdeQXVyNjI2OTgyNTE@._V1_The Second Disc has classic such as “Treehouse Of Horror” which is almost as incredibly well written as the first, “Lisa’s Pony” and “Saturdays Of Thunder” are also great. “Flaming Moe’s” is on a different level altogether to all episodes mentioned previously. It is one of the best written, funniest episodes this show has ever produced and will remain an all time classic. From Disc 3 onwards, especially after “Lisa The Greek”, the episodes seem to run into each other, you can’t put the remote control down, you simply have to keep watching. For you are viewing classic episode after classic episode after classic episode. First you have “Homer Alone”. David Stern decided to use a “deeper vein in comedy” in this episode by focusing on Marge rather than Bart or Homer, as most of the other writers were doing. It’s a fantastic episode with lots of humour and lots goes on, it seems more than 21 minutes.MV5BMTY5MDI4MjE4N15BMl5BanBnXkFtZTgwMDQwOTQ2MjE@._V1_“Bart The Lover” is another fantastic episode. I love hearing the letters that Bart writes to Mrs. Krabappel. “Homer At The Bat” is probably the episode that made me laugh the most in the entire season. My favourite part was when Ken Griffey Jr. had gigantism. “Separate Vocatians” Is a very interesting episode and another one that you can’t fault. It’s as good as every one of the episodes mentioned in this paragraph. There’s so much great humour in this episode. As for the other episodeson Disc 3, “Radio Bart” is a very cleverly written episode and is one of the best to watch. “Lisa The Greek is also as good as everyone of those episodes. One of my favourite episodes of all time, “Colonel Homer”. I think it’s one of the only episodes where Matt Groening wrote the entire thing. Then there is “Black Widower” in which Sideshow Bob marries Selma, which is a great episode, with a hilarious ending. And then, there is my favourite Simpsons episode of all time, The Otto Show. Disc four has “Bart’s Friend Falls In Love” and “Brother Can You Spare two Dimes”, these two episodes are good episodes but not classed as classics compared to the other episodes in the season.MV5BMTY5MDI4MjE4N15BMl5BanBnXkFtZTgwMDQwOTQ2MjE@._V1_Season 3 was when the Simpsons hit it’s stride and became the animated juggernaut it is today.

Failing health and a chilling act of desperation prompted Bruce Wayne to give up Batman’s cape and cowl, and the corporation that had stayed in his family for generations has been wrest from him by a corporate raider named Derek Powers. Never married and abandoned by his sidekicks, the elderly, embittered Wayne lurks inside a sprawling mansion that seems more like a mausoleum than the stately manor of old. Derek Powers is using the remnants of WayneCorp to illegally manufacture an endlessly destructive but extremely profitable nerve gas, a secret that Wayne/Powers employee Warren McGinnis stumbles upon and pays for with his life.DziRsC4XQAEU01AHis troubled son Terry blames himself for the murder, but a chance encounter with Bruce Wayne results in the theft of a Batman suit brimming with cutting-edge technology and the revelation of the man truly responsible for his father’s death. By the time the two-part episode “Rebirth” is over, Bruce Wayne has agreed to guide Terry as the new Batman, and an irradiated Derek Powers is a walking fusion reactor.batman-beyondBatman: The Animated Series, Superman, and Justice League all drew heavily from the established mythos, but Batman Beyond is a largely original creation. Sure, there are quite a few nods to the original series — it’s still set in Gotham City, Barbara Gordon has taken the mantle of police commissioner, and there are winks to fans like the Grey Ghost costume in the Batcave.MV5BMjI4Nzg0NTQ4OV5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTgwNzY5OTQ1MjE@._V1_Terry McGinnis is a very different lead character than Bruce Wayne was in Batman: The Animated Series. In the previous series, it seemed more as if Batman was who this man really was and Bruce Wayne was just an occasionally convenient mask for him to wear. Terry is seen out of costume much more frequently than Bruce ever was and feels like more of a fleshed-out character. He has friends, he has family, and he has a life outside of the pointy-eared hood. Gotham City is still teeming with bad guys, but even though Batman has been transplanted to the future, he’s not squaring off against Joker II or The Riddler Redux. The rogue’s gallery of this futuristic Batman doesn’t lift much from the previous animated series or even from the comics. The only familiar faces are Mr. Freeze, The Royal Flush Gang, and, briefly and unrecognizably, Bane. The other villains are original creations with some striking character designs, such as the amorphous corporate saboteur Inque, sound-engineer-with-a-power-suit Shriek, and the hypnotic Spellbound. This season also doesn’t rehash the same villains over and over again, with Inque being the only baddie other than Derek Powers’ Blight to strike more than once.MV5BMTQ0ODcyNjYwOF5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTgwOTU5OTQ1MjE@._V1_Several of the supervillains aren’t costumed-threats-of-the-week, but ordinary people in extraordinary situations: Willie Watt in “Golem” is a nerdy high schooler who seizes control of a two-story-tall construction robot to exact revenge on the bullies who torment him, and “The Winning Edge” is about high school athletes using steroids yet deftly avoids playing like ‘a very special episode of Batman Beyond’. One thing Batman’s adversaries, costumed and plainclothes alike, have in common is their origins. Nearly all of the villains in Batman Beyond are born of tragedy or greed, and that gives these episodes more of a resonance than something like The Joker pumping Gotham City with laughing gas for no reason in particular.AscensionAnother stand-out is “Shriek”, pitting Batman against an enemy whose technology enables him to manipulate sound. One of the most inventive sequences in the entire run of the series is set in a car factory where Batman starts setting off every piece of equipment in arm’s reach as a distraction. Shriek uses his technology to block out the noise and isolate Batman’s movements, resulting in an almost entirely silent battle with no dialogue, few sound effects, and a sparse, subtle score.126915This first season of Batman Beyond is remarkably consistent, offering perhaps the strongest debut of any DC animated series to date.

Image result for leprechaun 2On March 17, 994 A.D., The Leprechaun is a thousand years old. Since that is his birthday, he can choose any woman to be his bride. He picks a young girl of the O’Day family. The Leprechaun describes the girl he has chosen to O’Day, but when O’Day sees that the girl is in fact his daughter, he intervenes with “God bless you” therefore denying the Leprechaun his bride, as the creature can marry any girl who sneezes three times, provided no one says “God bless you.” The Leprechaun captures, tortures and tells O’Day that he will marry his descendant in a thousand years time on St Patrick’s Day, before killing O’Day.Image result for leprechaun 2One thousand years later, St Patrick’s Day in modern-day Los Angeles, a petulant sixteen-year-old girl named Bridget Callum, a descendant of the O’Day bloodline, has gotten into a fight with her boyfriend, Cody Ingalls. Cody frequently has to break their dates in order to support Morty, his alcoholic scam artist uncle. The Leprechaun steals some whiskey and a gold tooth from a homeless man and a gold ring off the finger of Tim Streer, a talent agent. After all of this, he follows Bridget to her house, where a boy named Ian attempts to persuade her into letting him in; she refuses with a swift elbow to his ribs. The Leprechaun then creates an illusion that fools Ian into believing that Bridget is asking him to kiss her, while in actuality, they are a pair of lawnmower blades that start up after Ian shoves his face into them.Image result for leprechaun 2Shortly afterwards, Cody knocks on the door and apologizes, offering flowers, which causes Bridget to sneeze all over his shirt. The third time she sneezes, Cody begins to say “God bless you,” but is unable to complete the blessing when the Leprechaun attempts to strangle him with a telephone cord. After a struggle, the Leprechaun disappears with Bridget, losing one of his gold coins, which Cody soon finds. The police soon arrive, find Bridget missing, Ian dead, and a note from Cody at the scene, leading them to get an arrest warrant out for him. Cody returns to Morty’s house and tells him what happened; Morty says he’s crazy until the Leprechaun breaks in and they barely escape. Morty and Cody then go to a bar, which is filled with people celebrating St. Patrick’s Day. While there, Cody is given a piece of chocolate in a gold wrapper by one of the bar’s patrons. The Leprechaun appears and Morty challenges him to a drinking contest. While the Leprechaun downs whiskey, Morty is actually drinking soda and water. The Leprechaun eventually becomes extremely drunk, so much to the point he can barely use his magic. He distracts Morty and Cody by turning on a jukebox with his powers, leading him to get away. He goes to a coffee shop, where he sobers up. Upon being asked for payment for the coffee, the Leprechaun thinks the waiter wants to take his gold and kills him. Meanwhile, Cody and Morty break into the go-kart racetrack since the office contains a huge safe on wheels made of wrought iron, the only thing that can harm the Leprechaun. Cody traps the Leprechaun inside, but Morty takes advantage of the opportunity to claim three wishes and locks Cody in a store room.Image result for leprechaun 2His first is for the Leprechaun’s pot of gold, which appears in Morty’s stomach, grotesquely stretching it. Morty wishes for the Leprechaun out of the safe for help, and, for his third wish, asks for the pot of gold out of him. The Leprechaun cuts Morty’s stomach open and pulls out the pot, killing Morty. Just then, as Cody breaks out of the store room, a security guard, who has responded to a silent alarm that Morty tripped, enters. Before he can arrest Cody, however, the officer is lured onto the track by the Leprechaun’s impersonation of Bridget and is run over twice and killed by the little green man in his own custom go-kart.Image result for leprechaun 2He attempts to kill Cody for his gold coin, but Cody realizes that as long as he holds it, the Leprechaun cannot harm him, leading him to run to the Leprechaun’s lair to attempt rescuing Bridget. Before he can find Bridget, however, Cody is attacked by the skeleton of William O’Day carrying out the Leprechaun’s bidding. After he defeats the skeleton and overcomes many illusions, he finally stumbles upon Bridget in the Leprechaun’s room with a gold collar on her neck. Suddenly, the Leprechaun corners Cody, demanding that he return his coin. Bridget, who has been picking at her collar with a broken awl, breaks it off, throws it at the Leprechaun’s head, and runs, as Cody follows. The Leprechaun dusts off his hat and pursues them both. In their mad dash to find an exit, Bridget and Cody get separated. When they meet up again, Bridget convinces Cody to leave the coin behind. When Cody is reluctant to part with the coin, the only thing that is keeping the Leprechaun from harming them, Bridget kisses him, so Cody hands her the coin.Image result for leprechaun 2The Leprechaun, who was pretending to be her, knocks Cody across the room and then goes after Bridget. Suddenly, Cody jumps up and shoves an iron crowbar through the Leprechaun’s chest, pointing out that the gold coin was actually the gold-covered milk chocolate. Together, Cody and Bridget run out of the lair, and the Leprechaun explodes behind him. Bridget asks Cody how he knew that the illusionary Bridget wasn’t really her kissing him, and Cody informs her that her kisses are different. She then asks him whether he’s going to keep the coin. “It’s not worth it,” Cody replies and tosses it on the ground. They then share a laugh and walk home.Image result for leprechaun 2Leprechaun 2 has much more great humor, like the scene where he and Cody’s uncle are drinking, and it was just so hilarious to see a leprechaun drunk. “Drink all you want… drink all you can… you can’t beat me… ’cause I’m a lepre-can! Mmmph! Chaun!” LOL! I loved that line. Watch this movie if you are in the correct mood or enjoy the series. Don’t take it so seriously, otherwise, you’re looking for the wrong kind of movie.

Alex Shaw is on a motorcycle chase after a vehicle with stolen goods. He eventually catches the driver of the vehicle, but his girlfriend Annie runs into him during her driving test. She finds out that Alex is on the SWAT team after he lied and told her he was a beach cop. As an apology, Alex surprises her with a Caribbean cruise on Seabourn Legend.

Aboard the ship, passenger John Geiger hacks into the ship’s computer system, and the following evening, he destroys the ship’s communication systems and kills the captain by throwing him overboard. After remotely shutting down the ship’s engines, Geiger calls the bridge to tell the first officer, Juliano, that the captain is dead and Juliano is now in charge. He is ordered by Geiger to evacuate the ship, during which Geiger steals jewelry from the ship’s vault. As passengers evacuate, Drew, a young deaf girl, becomes trapped in an elevator, and a group of people become trapped behind locked fire doors in a hallway filling up with smoke. Annie and Alex try to board the last lifeboat, however, Geiger programs the ship to start moving and the winch lowering the lifeboat gets jammed. Alex jumps onto the boat to rescue the passengers falling off, and Annie and Juliano use the ship’s gangplank to get the passengers back onto the deck.

Alex realizes Geiger is controlling the ship and goes with Juliano to Geiger’s cabin armed with skeet guns, but Geiger remotely sets off explosives inside the room. Annie and Dante, the ship’s photographer, notice the people trapped behind the fire doors, and Annie uses a chainsaw to cut the door open and let them out. Meanwhile, Alex orders the navigator, Merced, to flood the ship and slow it down by opening the ballast doors. As the ship floods, Alex sees Drew on a monitor after she climbed out of the elevator, and runs to save her. Alex notices Geiger exiting the vault and holds him at gunpoint, but Geiger escapes by closing the fire door in front of Alex. Using the ship’s intercom, Geiger explains that he designed the ship’s autopilot system and is taking revenge against the cruise line after getting fired once he got sick from copper poisoning. Geiger again escapes from Alex by attaching a grenade to a door.
488a110df732b3bc7b95e1a4d847a55cThe crew notice that Geiger has set the ship to crash into an oil tanker off the coast of Saint Martin. Alex decides to stop the ship by diving underneath it and jamming the propeller with a steel cable. Geiger realizes Alex is trying to stop the ship, so he jams the cable winch while Alex is underwater, causing it to break off the ship and free the cable. Geiger takes Annie hostage and escapes with her on a boat from the back of the ship. To avoid collision with the oil tanker, Alex and Dante go into the bilge pump room and use the bow thrusters to turn the ship. The ship screeches down the side of the tanker, but manages to withstand the damage, and heads straight into a marina.17xp-anderson1-articleLarge

It then crashes into a Saint Martin town, which eventually brings the ship to a halt. Alex jumps off to rescue Annie and hijacks a speed boat from Maurice, forcing him to chase after Annie. Geiger takes Annie onto a seaplane, and Alex shoots it from the boat with a speargun and reels himself in through the water. Alex climbs onto the plane and rescues Annie, and both escape from the plane on one of its floats, which falls onto the water. Geiger loses control of the plane and crashes into the oil tanker, causing it to explode. The tanker crew however are safe, because they launched their lifeboat just in time. Annie and Alex travel back to shore in Maurice’s boat, and Alex gives Annie an engagement ring, asking her if she will “wear it for a while”, and she accepts.

Speed 2:Cruise Control 1997 was a desperate attempt by the filmmakers to cash in on the original, even Sandra Bullock later regretted it on being part of this film
