LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes: Aquaman - Rage of Atlantis (2018)At the Hall of Justice, Justice League newcomer Jessica Cruz is busy examining for suspicious activity when the Trouble Alert goes off, alerting Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and Cyborg about Lobo’s attack on a warehouse at Dread Lake storing alien technology. When Aquaman receives word of this, he attempts to join in. He soon realizes that Dread Lake is in fact a dry lake bed, leaving Aquaman’s abilities futile as he is repeatedly beaten by Lobo until the Justice League arrive. Although Lobo manages to escape with a glowing blue orb despite their efforts.92e34ab6883d49c5823c50a0812cb214_compressedWanting to lighten the mood, Aquaman invites the Justice League to a feast that Atlantis is hosting in honor of his anniversary as king. While attending the feast (using a spray Batman designed to help them breathe underwater), Aquaman’s brother Ocean Master soon gathers the inhabitants of Atlantis where the entire city is engulfed in a bizarre red light which begins to corrupt and enrage them (a force field created by Cruz prevents the Justice League from its effects). With Atlantis under his influence, Ocean Master reveals an Atlantean scroll which reveals a law that only a pure-blood Atlantean can be king. Since Aquaman is half-human, he reluctantly gives up the crown to Ocean Master.MV5BZWQ0NTA5NTctMDgyZC00Y2EzLTk2OTctMjA4OTA2ZGVlY2NiXkEyXkFqcGdeQXRoaXJkLXBhcnR5LXZpZGVvLXVwZGF0ZXI@._V1_CR0,45,480,270_AL_UX477_CR0,0,477,268_AL_Now in control, Ocean Master introduces his corrupted subjects to his new adviser Atrocitus, leader of the Red Lantern Corps (who was responsible for corrupting the Atlanteans) and demands the destruction of the Justice League. Attempting to escape the corrupted Atlanteans, Aquaman and the Justice League use a device known as the Atlantean Gateway (which can open portals to other water-based worlds) to escape. However, Cruz fails to enter the portal before it closes.AquaMan1The Justice League end up arriving on a desert world with a red sun (rendering Superman powerless) and find themselves in a factory of Red Lantern vehicles and robots. Noticing that this planet’s end of the gateway is being powered by the orb Lobo stole, the Justice League realize that Atrocitus plans to send his forces to Earth and have the Atlanteans invade the surface world. After escaping the factory, the Justice League have Aquaman (who is naturally drawn to water due to his Atlantean physiology) lead them to water where they find it in a bar known as the Watering Hole and learn that water on this planet has become scarce and expensive on this planet ever since Atrocitus drained it dry. Fearing that Earth will suffer a similar fate, the Justice League become determined to return home. Encountering Lobo, they learn that he was hired to steal the orb by Ocean Master and request his assistance in exchange for returning his beloved dolphin Fishy (who was also corrupted by the Red Lanterns) to him….an offer Lobo reluctantly accepts.mqdefaultBack on Earth, Cruz is rescued by Mera who initially attempts to aid against the corrupted Atlanteans only to be corrupted herself. Escaping on a Red Lantern vehicle, Cruz makes it to a seaside fair where the Atlantean invasion begins. Cruz, Robin and Batgirl do their best to fend off the invading Atlanteans led by an enraged Mera. Upon realizing that the entire world is watching her on the news, Cruz flees from the battle, but works up the courage to return and fight back when she sees Mera attempting to corrupt Batgirl and Robin. Using her power ring, Cruz is able to defeat Mera and negate the effects of the Red Lantern light, returning Mera to her benevolent self.aquaman_2Elsewhere, the Justice League attempt to return to Earth. They succeed in shutting down the Red Lantern’s factory and the Gateway, but not before Fishy, Red Lantern Corps member Dex-Starr and a handful of Red Lantern drones make their way through it. Upset for their failure, Lobo storms off. The Justice League manage to use some reserve power and new vehicles to temporarily re-open the Gateway and return to Earth, but are defeated by Ocean Master and Atrocitus and locked in a gold cage.aquaman_dclegoAt this moment, Atrocitus betrays Ocean Master and reveals his true intentions. Using a weapon known as the Submerged Limitless Underwater Rapid Pump (S.L.U.R.P.), Atrocitus plans to drain Earth’s water supply and spray it into space until Earth is as dry as a desert. Seeing the error of his ways, Ocean Master helps the Justice League escape and uses his magic to protect them from the Red Lantern’s light. Using the Trident of Poseidon (which can only be wielded by the rightful king of Atlantis), Aquaman is able to defeat Atrocitus and destroy the Red Lantern power battery (the source of his power), undoing the effects of its light. Surfacing, the Justice League, Batgirl, Robin and Mera attempt to destroy the S.L.U.R.P. but their efforts prove futile. Lobo (who has been reunited with Fishy) arrives to aid the Justice League. With Aquaman’s advice to work together, the combined efforts of the Justice League and Lobo destroy the S.L.U.R.P. while Superman pushes the water that was already drained (which had frozen into a brick of ice) back into Earth’s atmosphere where it melts into rain and is restored to Earth’s oceans.7b2e53fe53b7ec92With Atlantis the peaceful and happy kingdom it once was once more, Ocean Master apologizes for his actions and even admits to falsifying the law which dethroned Aquaman in the first place. This, coupled with the fact that Aquaman was able to wield the Trident of Poseidon allow Aquaman to be reinstated as King of Atlantis. Atrocitus and Dex-Starr are handcuffed and acquired by Lobo who plans to head to Oa to collect the bounty placed on them. As he leaves with Fishy, Lobo states that when he returns he “might not be on his best behavior”. As the Justice League celebrate their victory, Cyborg receives word that Gorilla Grodd and his forces are attacking Kathmandu, forcing the Justice League into action.EQ9w2UsAquaman must battle foes in the air, on land and in the depths of the Seven Seas, along with some help from The Justice League, to save the day . As a big fan of DC’s Lego movies i was very excited for this but unfortunately although i was entertained for sure i was also disappointed and that was mostly with Aquaman which for at least the first 2 acts is a bit silly and dumb plus the villains were so cheesy and not as good as some previous Lego villains such as Joker and Reverse Flash. Overall decent Lego DC Film but it could have been better also.

With lot’s of cameos from heroes and villains of the DC universe like Joker, Killer Croc, Penguin, Cheetah, Trickster, Krypto, Bat Hound and even Aquaman. The jokes are clever and super funny and the plot as a whole although we have seen it all before it was interesting and smart too. Batman gives the viewer a brief reminiscent of his early days as a crime fighter, his time with Robin, how he became Nightwing and how a new Robin came to be. In the present day, Batman and Robin begin chasing after Penguin and Harley Quinn and succeed in entrapping Penguin in a magnetic cage. After Harley and Poison Ivy are defeated, Batman leaves Robin with the defeated criminals and chases after a criminal who resembles a ninja. After cornering the criminal in an alleyway, Batman is able to deduce that the criminal is Nightwing, who used the ninja costume to try and lure Batman into a surprise birthday party, which disappoints Nightwing, along with the other attendees of Batman’s party (consisting of Superman, Wonder Woman, Cyborg, Robin, Batgirl, Beast Boy and Starfire). Batgirl, Robin and Nightwing reveal that as a present for Batman, they decided to take him on vacation. Superman is willing to serve as a temporary replacement of Batman, believing the criminals of Gotham would not be hard to defeat due to many of them lacking superpowers. The Justice League and Teen Titans are able to convince Batman to accept the vacation and Batman, Nightwing and Batgirl leave to their holiday plans. Robin stays behind to show Superman the ropes and give him advice on Gotham’s villains. Meanwhile at Arkham Asylum, Joker uses a spoon (which he drew a face on and calls “Spoony”) to dig himself out of his cell. Elsewhere, Batman easily figures out Nightwing and Batgirl’s vacation plans for him, to take him down Memory Lane by having him visit the dojo of his former martial arts sensei Madame Mantis. After a brief reunion battle with his former sensei, Batman discovers it was actually a disguised minion of Deathstroke. Batman, Batgirl and Nightwing then find Deathstroke and follow him into a cave. Meanwhile in Gotham, Superman finds out about Joker’s escape and ignores Robin’s warning about him. Unfortunately, this allows Joker to trick Superman into freeing Harley Quinn, Penguin, Poison Ivy and Scarecrow, from Arkham. Superman calls Cyborg in hopes of gaining assistance to stop the escaped villains. Back at the vacation site, Batman, Nightwing and Batgirl end up falling down a waterfall in the cave. During their time falling, Batman explains his past with Deathstroke, where Madame Mantis favored a young Bruce Wayne over him.eacd25dc-2102-4b51-bca1-ad171b740118Deathstroke ultimately dropped out due to the fact that Mantis believed Deathstroke was not ready to learn “The Forbidden Move”. At the bottom of the waterfall, Batman, Nightwing and Batgirl uncover an underground kingdom of Trogowogs (a hidden underground race of short, green humanoids which Madame Mantis did not introduce to humanity to avoid corruption). The primitive (yet optimistic, prim and proper) residents immediately attack Batman and co. and Batman ultimately surrenders to Deathstroke when the latter threatens to kill Nightwing and Batgirl.12_Flying_Now_or_Later_thumb_5785c508224eb7.17461214

They are then introduced to the Trogowog leader, revealed to be Bane, who gained his position with the use of a pink crystal known as the Psyche Stone. Using the Psyche Stone, Bane was able to give the Trogowogs his fury and Deathstroke’s fighting skills. All he needs to make them unstoppable is the knowledge of the Forbidden Move from Batman’s mind since Madame Mantis has to strong of a will. Back in Gotham, Superman and Cyborg are easily defeated by Poison Ivy, so Superman reluctantly summons Wonder Woman, but Poison Ivy is able to coat all three of them in her pheromones to stun them. By the time the effect wears of, they have been taken to Joker’s funhouse where all the escaped villains are present and Scarecrow is able to douse the Justice Leaguers with fear gas, making them cowardly enough for the villains to torment them long enough to put them in molten kryptonite and more pheromones to boil them into soup. Robin notices this and goes to save the League.
Back in the Trogowog kingdom, Batman, Nightwing and Batgirl are held in the dungeon, stripped of their utility belts and imprisoned with Madame Mantis and the Trogowogs’ cowardly prince Grungle (the only trogowog not to fall victim of the Psyche Stone) who reveals that the Trogowogs were once a peaceful and friendly race, until Bane found out about their kingdom and used the Psyche Stone to teach them hatred and violence. In addition, he killed Grungles father and locked away Grungle. Luckily for the prisoners, Batman stashed away a brick separator and uses it to break them free. Unfortunately, they are recaptured after Bane threatens to kill them and Batman reluctantly succumbs to the Psyche Stone’s power (while repeatedly saying “Dance”) and reveals how to use the Forbidden move, which involves harnessing one’s own chi to create a projectile of destructive power. Back in Gotham, Robin is able to save the captive Justice Leaguers and they shake of the pheromones. Robin and the Justice League then leave the amusement park, causing the villains to believe that Gotham is now defenseless and theirs for the taking. Superman apologizes for ignoring Robin’s warnings and Robin teaches the Justice League the skills they need to defeat the villains. In the Trogowog kingdom, the trogowogs are fed with the knowledge of the Forbidden move, and Grungle is held hostage by Bane. When Deathstroke attempts to use the move to kill Batman, he immediately stops himself, believing that using it would be to easy. At that moment, Deathstroke regains his honour, helps Batman and co. to escape and allies with his former classmates against the Trogowog army. As the trogowogs are ready to kill Batman and Deathstroke, Batman utters “Batusi”, causing the trogowogs to dance uncontrollably. It turns out while Batman was under the power of the Psyche Stone, he applied a mental command in addition to the Forbidden move. At the same time, Nightwing and Batgirl arrive to free Grungle, but are pinned down by Bane’s use of a monolith.
12_Flying_Now_or_Later_thumb_5785c508224eb7.17461214This gives Grungle the courage to fight back against Bane and his small size allows him to avoid all attacks from Bane’s Venom-augmented physique. Freeing themselves from the monolith, Nightwing and Batgirl use the Psyche Stone to reveal Grungle’s battle with Bane to the other trogowogs. Grungle is able to defeat Bane by breaking the tubes of his Venom injector, reducing Bane to his normal form. In Gotham, one by one Scarecrow, Penguin and Poison Ivy are defeated by Robin and the Justice League and put back in Arkham Asylum. Joker and Harley Quinn have managed to tie Commissioner Gordon to the Bat-Signal until the Justice League arrive, free Commissioner Gordon and send Joker and Harley back to Arkham as well as confiscate “Spoony” so that Joker can’t dig his way out again. In the trogowog kingdom, Bane is locked in the dungeon, Grungle is made the new king and Deathstroke bids farewell to Batman (although he states that the team-up didn’t mean they were friends).lego-gotham-city-breakout-postBatman, Nightwing and Batgirl use the Psyche Stone to erase the Forbidden Move from the trogowogs memories and restore them to their normal, peaceful and friendly selves. They then leave back to Gotham and say their goodbyes. Back in the Batcave, The Justice League and Teen Titans discuss not to mention any of the events that happened while Batman was gone, but when Batman, Batgirl and Nightwing do return, Superman confesses. To his surprise, Batman actually congratulates him, Wonder Woman, Cyborg and Robin for putting them back in Arkham. The Justice League and Teen Titans then continue their party.MMPR_Turkey_JerkFantastic. Very funny and entertaining. This is Bat-centric and features all the Bat family -Robin, Nightwing and Batgirl. Kids and adults will love it.

This is awesome!!! I have been a DC and Batman animated series for well over 2 decades, and I can honestly say I loved this movie. My kids were cracking up every few seconds. This just made the movie better for me, as it was a movie the whole family could enjoy. The characters are more child friendly and the including Batman’s costume design. They are using the blue cape and cowl instead of the black. However the best thing they did is that they keep the characters true to their core. cosmicclash3The characters. Superman is the most powerful character, but also the best liked they play up his good manners and naivety, (which is the opposite of how he is in the current New 52 comics); this is the way I remembered Superman growing up. Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) is always jumping into battle head first simply to prove how fearless he is. Long-time fans will appreciate the continuity touch of him and Batman’s personality clash. Wonder Woman is the team protector and diplomat till you make her angry then the warrior Amazon comes out. Cyborg is inventor but still looking for acceptance from the teams big guns. Flash is portrayed as hyperactive and impatient, all the things that come with super speed, in the Lego universe he does not seem to be able to turn his posers off. I would love for the next move to focus more in him. Super girl has all of Superman’s powers but is a teenage worse a super powered teenage cheerleader. Batman is the main character in this story. Yes they do make him more kid friendly but they keep his dark, intensity, brooding, suspicious and workaholic personality that make him a bit of an outsider even to his friends in the justice League.
cosmicclash6After blasting the 3 most powerful members of the Justice League to different point in time shrinking the Earth and cataloguing it should be a breeze for the supercomputer that is Brainiac, right the only one left are the junior members and the Batman who does not even have any powers. This is great movie with lots of colourful characters and special attacks and moves for the youngsters, and then it has enough of a story and engagement and continuity to keep older/mature fans happy as well including appearances from “Elseworld” versions of characters. All in all a great movie for all fans of Lego or DC.

A great film. carrying on were Lego Justice League: Bizarro World left off we see the first union of the baddies in the Lego universe. Although the Bizarro World film was good, it wasn’t fantastic. This time however Lego hits the nail on the head with plenty of laugh out loud moments, an entertaining and gripping storyline that’s easily graspable for its target audience, a fantastic cast of voice actors including the legendary Mark Hamill and to top it all off a really cool mini figure of the Trickster (Just need the rest of the Rogues to be released now).

Theres loads of potential in this Lego DC Universe and plenty to develop on and to introduce new and exciting ideas. Fun for all the family, adults and kids alike will find entertainment in the Justice Leagues first show down with the Legion of Doom and be left hungry for the next installment.

Lego JusticeLeague vs BizarroLeague

After a Bizarro makes a disastrous attempt to save kids on a playground who don’t need saving, Superman decides to take Bizarro to a new world he’s discovered which he has named Bizarro World. Flash forward one year and an attack on Lex Corp brings the Justice League to investigate, only to discover that Bizarro has stolen the duplicate ray and makes twins of the entire League. Now the heroes and their twisted twins must team up to defeat Darkseid and save Bizarro World.

While this short film follows LEGO Batman: The Movie , it’s not a direct sequel to those and doesn’t include anything related to the Brainiac tease that ended that film. It is more of a sequel to the Batman Be-Leagured TV special (more on that in the special features.) Between that first Lego Batman movie and The Lego Movie, there are some pretty big shoes to fill and this film does an admirable job. The voice work is good, with Troy Baker returning to play Batman and Tony Todd as Darkseid. While Lex Luthor is a minor character, I did miss Clancy Brown’s take on the character.

The rest of the cast rounds out the heroes and villains nicely so it’s a small gripe. The animation is once again very well done and we get a good mix of heroes and villains in bit parts. While the main cast is comprised of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Cyborg and Guy Gardner’s Green Lantern as well as their bizarro counterparts, we’re treated to Hawkman, Flash, Green Arrow, Plastic Man, Gorilla Grodd, Penguin, Deathstoke, Captain Cold and Giganta. It’s one of my favorite parts when all the characters keep popping in, making me wonder who else they might include, but at that point it’s off to Bizarro World and there aren’t any more surprise guests (well, I won’t spoil the end for you).

The special features are pretty decent, with a large selection of audio and subtitle languages, the usual trailer they squeeze on for other releases and three short pieces. Me Am Bizarro: The League of Opposites is a behind the scenes with some of the principles behind the film and a history of Bizarro and some insights into the production. Batman: Be-Leagured is the TV special that the main feature follows. It’s inclusion is important, it’s seems like it’s been relegated to a bonus when you should watch it first if you haven’t seen it. The final short is Be-Leagured Bloopers, which is just some goofy “out-takes from the TV special.

Overall it’s a pretty good release with the film being solid and thankfully keeping it brief at 49 minutes. Any longer and it would have overstayed it’s welcome. It’s a good addition if you’ve enjoyed the other Lego movies and the Batzarro mini-fig pack in is a cool extra.

The Flash travels around the world with Batman following in the Batwing until they find Captain Cold trying to steal hieroglyphics. Flash and Batman fight him, but Flash disappears mid fight while Batman is frozen solid without his utility belt. Batman thaws and defeats Cold, but he and the hieroglyphics disappear. Batman then asks Aquaman for help in the Batboat, but they find Black Manta and his robot sharks trying to steal the Trident of Poseidon. Batman once again wins the fight, but Aquaman, Black Manta, and the trident all disappear.Batman then goes to Metropolis, where Wonder Woman and Cyborg are fighting Lex Luthor, who is trying to steal the Daily Planet Globe for an anonymous buyer. Once again, the Justice League members disappear, Batman defeats the villain, but Lex and the globe disappear. Batman deduces that Bat-Mite is behind it, and travels to the Justice League headquarters at the Hall of Justice (the last place he wanted to go) where Bat-Mite prepared a trap for the Justice League including all of the stolen items. Batman does nothing which Bat-Mite did not expect. But he did hint them that since the cage was immune to their powers, they shouldn’t use them, and they escaped by opening the door. Batman promptly accepts the invitation to the Justice League. Bat-Mite summons the villains, but they are easily defeated by the combined might of the Justice League, so Bat-Mite decides that instead of cheering on one hero, he should cheer on an entire team. Composer Tim Kelly could have made this felt a bit more cohesive by using the familiar themes but once again he just gives us a cartoon score. Definitely worth watching, if unremarkable.

untitledThe episode begins with Robin’s alarm clock going off at 8:00 AM, and all the Titans run to the living room, expecting presents under the Christmas tree. In the past two years (soon to be three), they have gone without presents, and today, they find themselves receiving no presents again, so the Titans get suspicious. Robin says there is only one reason why they weren’t getting presents…they were on the Naughty List! They journey into the North Pole, sneak into Santa’s workshop and disperse. Raven and Starfire ask a gingerbread man where the naughty list is, but after a while, they start devouring everything in his house. Surprisingly, it doesn’t erase as he expected, so he tries rubbing out the Titans’ name first, uses white out and then a mini bomb, but eventually gives up from the failures. He is then interrupted by Santa’s dog, which intentionally barks to get Santa’s attention. Santa comes over and scolds Robin for his actions, but the other Titans eventually arrive to complain about how they didn’t get their wish for presents for the past three years. Santa states that presents are not the true meaning of Christmas, resulting in the Titans blowing up his toy factory. Forced against his will, Santa quickly confesses that the true meaning of Christmas is presents, and ends up taking the Titans in his sleigh, who help him give all nice and naughty people presents.

SECOND CHRISTMAS

The episode starts with the day being Christmas morning. The Titans get up and start celabrating. First they open their presents having Cyborg getting robot parts, Robin gets some capes, Starfire gets a Tamerain toy, Beast Boy gets a yarn ball, and Raven gets a golden, limited edition, Pretty Pretty Peguses doll. Next, everyone puts some “Ugly Christmas Sweaters”. They all commet on how ugly they are, and Raven says yet there still festive. Beast Boy notices that it’s snowing out. And everyone goes out to play. At night, everyone pigs out on a Christmas dinner. Everyone then yells “WE LOVE CHRISTMAS!”
But the next day, as soon when Christmas ends, Robin takes down all the Christmas decorations and tells everyone that he has a workout ready for them. As he removes the Christmas tree, Beast Boy tells him that Christmas isn’t over, but Robin breaks free of his grip, rudely tells him that it’s over, and walks off. The other sad Titans decide they don’t want to wait 364 days again until Christmas. Starfire announces that she plans to return to her home planet to celebrate the great Kergoff, as she does every year the day after Christmas. She says it is like a Tamaranean Christmas and is the most important holiday for her people. As soon as she leaves the room, Beast Boy, Cyborg, and Raven complain about how jealous they are that she gets to celebrate a “Second Christmas”.
When Starfire hears them say the the words “Second Christmas”, she pops back into the room, asking them if such a holiday really exists. The Titans decide to lie to her and tell her it does exist, and make her do all of the preparations for “Second Santa”. They say if she truly believes, Second Santa will come and give them a Second Christmas Miracle. Robin walks into the room, and Starfire asks him if all of this is true. He tells her that no, it is not true, but Beast Boy convinces her that he is just a grouch who hates Second Christmas. Every time Robin tries to tell her that the Titans are playing a trick on her, she should punch him in the face, which she does.
After a day of celebrating, Starfire lights up the entire front wall of the Tower with neon Christmas lights. Robin tells them that they are insane, and the Tower’s generator can’t handle that much energy. Nobody listens, however, and Starfire punches him in the face again calling him “the grouch.”

Later that night, Cyborg, Raven, and Beast Boy are proud of themselves, and decide that it is time for bed. Starfire decides she wants to stay up to see Second Santa. The three start to feel bad, but decide to go to bed anyways. Starfire goes to the roof, waiting for Second Santa by flying the Second Christmas kite and singing a Second Christmas song. Starfire begins to blame herself for Second Santa not coming, and nearly cries. The other Titans appear on the roof, and Robin forces them to tell her the truth. After hearing that they made her miss her home planet’s festival, Starfire begins crying, and when Raven asks if she’s okay, she becomes furious, and starts throwing starbolt-enhanced snowballs at them in a rage. Even Robin is attacked for “being the grouch”. While the battle on the roof ensues, the Tower’s generator finally overheats, with a gigantic explosion lighting up the entire island. The Titans lay unconscious in the hospital in their beds and in hospital gowns (expect Cyborg and Raven) while the Tower was being rebuilt.
The Titans and Silkie wake up in the hospital, confused. Robin checks the clipboard at the end of his bed, and realizes that the tower’s explosion put all six of them in a coma for 363 days. Starfire claims that she was a fool for believing in a Second Christmas but Robin comforts her by saying that it was a Second Christmas miracle. They are all suddenly filled with excitement, realizing that tomorrow is Christmas Eve, and they didn’t have to wait a whole year after all. Starfire looks out the window to see the real Second Santa, who provided them with a Second Christmas miracle.

Teen Titans was always a love it or hate it series and this reboot series is the same. The Christmas episode is funny and sweet in places. Being only a little over 10 mins it gets to the story straight away and is quite well paced. its a decent special to watch at Xmas.
