853full-the-initiation-of-sarah----------------------------------(2006)-screenshot (1)Hasbro’s Power Rangers Beast Morphers, was a huge success when Season 1 aired, the moment the trailer for season aired fans were even more excited….. and Season 2 has not dissapointed.initiation-sarah6The storyline for Season 2 kicks off right after the Season 1 Cliffhanger, with the mayor taken over by Evox. Thou The rangers don;t know the audience does, and it creates a sense of tension and excitement among fans waiting for for the rangers to find out.Power-Rangers-Beast-Morphers-Season-2-Extended-Trailer-820x410The return of The Roxy and Blaze is awesome having them be able to get destroyed and rebooted is a genius way to them maintain a threat to the rangers whilst still having the human versions around, which gives us a chance to get to know the characters.power-rangers-beast-morphers-season-2-sneak-peek-1205851-1280x0The New Power upgrades/Zords are great as everyone knows its the mecha that people love and the new Beast X King Zord is a great addition seeing Devon’s  Zord ride it like a horse was a great scene.  image-assetThe series goes from strength to strength having Evox be a physical entity for the rangers to fight is alot better than the computer virus entity in the first season. This Season also has the big team up and the return of Austin St. John from MMPR, which is a welcome return. this team-up will air later in 2020 but it will be worth the wait along with the Return of Doctor K from RPM. This is season just goes from strength to strength and it looks like Hasbro has a winning formula.

One thing Beast Morphers shares in common with Ninja Steel is a supremely likable cast. By the end of the episode, you have a firm grasp on not only their personalities but also their motivations, giving them clear jumping off points to further develop their characters. It’s refreshing to see that, as previous series struggled to give the cast meaningful narratives consistently. Hopefully, this keeps up throughout the series, but so far we can’t help but love Devon (Rorrie D. Travis), Zoey (Jacqueline Scislowski), and Ravi (Jasmeet Baduwalia).

Also shoutout to Ben (Cosme Flores) and Betty (Kristina Ho), who made me laugh every time they were on screen. Their immediate charm helped balance out the slapstick, and it was a welcome mix.

Beast Morphers excels from a style perspective as well. From the fights to all the slick looking tech lying around the lab, the aesthetic of the series is top notch. It retains that Power Rangers vibe but gives it a modern flair, and those Grid Battleforce jackets are swaggy…okay, not sure I can pull that word off…well, they’re cool alright!

That said, there were some moments that elicited a wince or two. A few moments of dialogue were a little too cheesy, and some of the wirework stretched believability in a drastic way. Still, we are talking about people who can call upon the DNA of animals to battle a sentient virus that looks like a Cobra, so you know, I’m willing to suspend disbelief a bit. Plus, this show is aimed at a younger audience, so it’s always good to remember that this isn’t supposed to be Avengers: Infinity War either.

Overall this was a wonderful introduction to the Hasbro era of Power Rangers, and I personally can’t wait to enjoy the season-long ride that’s in store.

Those are my thoughts, but let’s see what the community thought of the big episode, which you can find on the next slide! Also, make sure to hit me up @MattMuellerCB on Twitter and let me know what you thought of the premiere!

In 1990, architect Frank Bannister’s (Michael J. Fox) wife, Debra, dies in a car accident. He abandons his profession, and his unfinished “dream house” sits incomplete. Following the accident, Frank gained the power to see ghosts and befriends three: 1970s street gangster Cyrus (Chi McBride), 1950s nerd Stuart (Jim Fyfe), and The Judge (John Astin), a gunslinger from the Old West. The ghosts haunt houses so Frank can then “exorcise” them for a fee. Most locals consider him a con man.

Soon after Frank cons local health nut Ray Lynskey (Peter Dobson) and his wife Lucy (Trini Alvarado), a physician, Ray dies of a heart attack. Frank discovers there is an entity, appearing as the Grim Reaper, killing people, first marking numbers on their foreheads that only Frank sees. Debra had a similar number when she was found.

Frank’s ability to foretell the murders puts him under suspicion with the police and FBI agent Milton Dammers (Jeffrey Combs), who is convinced Frank is responsible. Frank is arrested for killing newspaper editor Magda Rees-Jones (Elizabeth Hawthorne), who had attacked him in the press.

Lucy investigates the murders and becomes a target of the Grim Reaper. She is attacked while visiting Frank in jail; but they escape with the help of Cyrus and Stuart, who are both dissolved in the process. Frank wants to commit suicide to stop the Grim Reaper. Lucy helps Frank have a near-death experience by putting him into hypothermia and using barbiturates to stop his heart. Dammers abducts Lucy, revealing that he had been a victim of Charles Manson and his “Family” in 1969.

In his ghostly form, Frank confronts the Grim Reaper and discovers that he is the ghost of Johnny Bartlett (Jake Busey), a psychiatric hospital orderly who killed twelve people 32 years earlier, before being captured, convicted, and executed. Newspaper reports reveal that his greatest desire was to become the most prolific serial killer ever, showing pride at killing more than contemporaries like Charles Starkweather. Patricia Bradley (Dee Wallace-Stone), then a teenager, was accused as his accomplice, although she escaped the death penalty due to her underage status. Lucy resuscitates Frank and they visit Patricia. Unknown to them, Patricia is still in love with Bartlett and on friendly, homicidal terms with Bartlett’s ghost, and eventually kills her own mother, who had been trying to monitor her daughter’s behavior. Lucy and Frank trap Bartlett’s spirit in his urn, which Patricia has kept. The pair make for the chapel of the now-abandoned psychiatric hospital hoping to send Bartlett’s ghost to Hell.
image-w856Patricia and Dammers chase them through the ruins. Dammers throws the ashes away, releasing Bartlett’s ghost again before Patricia kills him. Bartlett’s ghost and Patricia hunt down Frank and Lucy. Frank realizes that Bartlett’s ghost, with Patricia’s help, was responsible for his wife’s death and the number on her brow, and that he is still trying to add to his body count (and infamy) even after his death.
Image result for the frightenersOut of bullets, Patricia strangles Frank to death, but Frank in spirit form rips Patricia’s spirit from her body, forcing Bartlett to follow them. Bartlett grabs Patricia’s ghost, while Frank makes it to Heaven, where he is reunited with Cyrus and Stuart along with his wife Debra. Bartlett and Patricia’s spirits claim they will now go back to claim more lives, but the portal to Heaven quickly changes to a demonic looking appearance, and they are both dragged to Hell by a giant worm-like creature. Frank learns it is not yet his time and is sent back to his body, as Debra’s spirit tells him to “be happy.”

Frank and Lucy fall in love. Lucy is now able to see ghosts as well. Frank later begins demolishing the unfinished dream house and building a life with Lucy while the morose-looking ghost of Dammers is riding around in the sheriff’s car. Frank and Lucy then enjoy their picnic.a738d528-8aa4-4a8f-b8d1-5566fc118b64Frighteners might not make you believe in ghosts, but it will make you laugh, shiver, and maybe even shed a tear or two. Wildly funny, weird, gross, and sometimes really peculiar, this is Jackson’s splatter-gore at its best.

.The first Power Rangers episode of the Hasbro era kicked off today with Power Rangers Beast Morphers, and to say it set a high bar for the rest of the series would be an understatement.power-rangers-beast-morphersThere are several differences between this and the last outing at Saban, Super Ninja Steel, but one of the biggest involves attention to detail. In the first episode of the season, we already have references to the greater Power Rangers universe, with Mayor Daniels (Kevin Copeland) referring to previous villains, Power Ranger teams, and other dimensions. That’s a big deal, especially so early on in the series, and what’s more impressive is it was done with a relatively small amount of time and felt organic to the character and the plot, as opposed to some ham-fisted reference just to appease fans.x720One thing Beast Morphers shares in common with Ninja Steel is a supremely likable cast. Frodo Baggins and Samwise Gamgee continue their journey to Mordor to destroy the One Ring by throwing it into Mount Doom. They are attacked in the night by Gollum, former owner of the Ring, but they capture him. Sympathising with Gollum for their shared burden, Frodo asks Gollum to lead them safely to Mordor, despite Sam’s objections. Meanwhile, Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli pursue the Uruk-hai who kidnapped their friends Merry and Pippin. The Uruk-hai are slaughtered by the Rohirrim army of Rohan, but the two Hobbits escape into Fangorn Forest where they meet the Ent Treebeard. Aragorn’s group later meet the Rohirrim who have been banished by their king Théoden, who is manipulated by Saruman’s servant Grima Wormtongue. Tracking the Hobbits in Fangorn, Aragorn’s group encounter a resurrected Gandalf who perished in Moria, but was revived to help save Middle-earth.Gollum leads Frodo and Sam through the Dead Marshes whilst evading the Nazgûl. They reach the Black Gate to Mordor but Gollum stops them, saying it’s too risky and that there is another entrance, finding himself becoming loyal to Frodo for his kindness. The trio later are captured by the Rangers of Ithilien, led by Faramir, brother of the late Boromir. When Faramir discovers Frodo has the Ring, he intends on taking him to Gondor, capturing Gollum when Frodo exposes him. Aragorn, Gandalf, Legolas, and Gimli travel to Rohan’s capital Edoras where Gandalf releases Théoden from Saruman’s power and Wormtongue is banished. Learning Saruman plans on wiping out Rohan with an army of Uruk-hai, Théoden decides to move his citizens to the protection of Helm’s Deep, but Gandalf departs to find the Rohirrim led by Théoden’s nephew Éomer. Aragorn strikes up a friendship with Théoden’s niece Éowyn who quickly falls in love with him. During a Warg attack, Aragorn falls off a cliff into a river, but is found by his horse and taken to Helm’s Deep.In Fangorn, Merry and Pippin attend an Ent council but learn Treebeard and the others will not participate in the war. They convince them otherwise when they show the destruction Saruman has unleashed on the forests around Isengard. The Ents storm Isengard and imprison Saruman in his tower. The Uruk-hai army arrive at Helm’s Deep, finding a makeshift army of peasants and Elves from Rivendell waiting for them. A great battle follows with Théoden losing hope until Aragorn convinces him to ride out and meet them. Gandalf and the Rohirrim arrive, turning the tide of the battle and destroying the Uruk-hai.Frodo, Sam, and Gollum are taken to the fallen Gondor city Osgiliath but they are attacked by the Nazgûl and Mordor army. Sam informs Faramir of how the Ring nearly drove Boromir mad, stunning Faramir. Frodo is nearly captured by the Nazgûl but Sam tackles him down a flight of stairs, saving him. After the attack ends, Faramir frees the trio and sends them on their way. Gollum, hurt by Frodo’s seeming betrayal, decides to reclaim the Ring by leading Frodo and Sam to a creature he refers to as “her”, leading them away towards Mordor. The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers Extended Version might rasie a few eyebrows when one sees how long the extented version is, however the extra 40 minutes added to the theatrical cut actually make the ‘The Two Towers’ a better film to enjoy as a lord of the rings and/or film fan. The extra footage, adds depth and suspense to the story, which makes it more gripping, particularly during some of the extended scenes during the battle of Helm’s Deep. There is more character evolution, which gives one a more indepth view of the more mystical sides of the main characters (their backgrounds and their power), particularly Aragon and Gandalf.Furthermore, the extended material gives a larger role to Merry and Pippin, to which many hardcore lord of the rings fans is a great boost to the story. They are a greater aspect of the story and unlike in the theatrical cut, don’t just sit in a tree all the film. What I enjoyed most however, was the realism of the film that the extented edition gave to Tolkein’s writings, though true some aspects were not entirly accurate to the The Two Towers book, the extended editon gave one the feeling more that they were in Middle-Earth, than the theatrical cut.The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers Extended Version is an ideal viewing for any lord of the rings fan, but furthermore, it is a great epic to watch of any person, even those who saw the theatrical cut, before reading the book.

Jack of All Trades is the direct creation of Eric Morris, who wrote much of the show himself, but largely the product of what some may call the “Holy Trinity” behind a cult favorite, the Evil Dead Trilogy: Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert (executive producers) as well as the star of the show, Bruce Campbell. It ran for two seasons and a total of 22-episodes in 2000, forming the latter half of the “Back2Back Action Hour” alongside Cleopatra 2525.193500093It’s 1801, and the American Revolution has just been won. As a result, Jack Stiles (Bruce Campbell) is assigned by Thomas Jefferson to thwart any and all attempts by French Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte (Verne Troyer a.k.a. Mini-Me from the second and third parts of the Austin Powers Trilogy) to colonize the New World, particularly concerning the tiny East Indies island of Pulau Pulau. Here, he is teamed up with the stunning British secret agent and inventress Emilia Rothschild (Angela Dotchin) with the cover of being her personal attaché. In addition to playing the part of man-servant, Jack must occasionally take on the role of the legendary folk hero, the Daring Dragoon. This allows him more freedom in his thwarting of the French, although because the costume’s mask only covers up part of his face and his voice remains unchanged, it’s puzzling how the residing French Governor Croque and his compatriots time and again fail to uncover the masked hero’s true identity! An array of historical figures make appearances on Jack including, but not limited to: Thomas Jefferson, Blackbeard (the infamous pirate), Benjamin Franklin, the Marquis de Sade, Lewis & Clark, a relative of Leonardo Da Vinci and, of course, Napoleon Bonaparte himself, cleverly portrayed by Verne Troyer. While Jack is hardly historically accurate, its historical references make for entertaining subject matter for Jack and Emilia to interact with throughout the show in a myriad of situations.
Jack of All Trades is a funny show, one which is enjoyable to watch. The cast seems natural, and the chemistry between Bruce (Jack) and Angela (Emilia) is particularly strong. Their back-and-forth banter coupled with the undeniable sexual tension between the two of them keeps the show going. Unfortunately, Jack’s series finale seems rather abrupt, leaving something to be desired. There is this lingering sense of a lack of closure; nevertheless, the show still manages to hold itself together in the end. It’s just too bad that the end had to come sooner than later.

Power Rangers Super MegaforceThe Power Rangers defeated the Warstar villains, but now the ruthless Prince Vekar has arrived with his armada  to conquer Earth. To face this threat Gosei gives the rangers special keys, they also have the amazing new ability to morph into any rangers from the past and use the past power. The series begins with the aftermath of Megaforce, the armada is in full swing and the rangers must activate the new Legendary Powers. Though this season will never be as good as the japanese counterpart Gokaiger, it’s still fun seeing previous ranger costumes such as Mighty Morphin, Zeo and Lost Galaxy.Silver-RangerThis Season we are introduced to a new Ranger, The Silver Ranger who is able to call upon the past powerrs of the sixth rangers. we do get to see the Return of Jayden (Samurai Red) and Casey *Jungle Fury Red). It would of been nicer to get more cameos, but it is what it is.silverrangermainEmma seems to be the ranger through Megaforce and Super Megaforce that gets the most episodes dedicated to her where as Gia gets none. It’s nice to see a return to the RPM dimension even thou we don’t. but lets face it the real highlight of the season is Legendary Battle.Orion believes that Earth is now completely safe, and decides to return to his home planet Andresia. Ernie and the Rangers (especially Emma) are sad to see Orion go, and gives him a bag of mementos. Orion then leaves Earth on his Armada ship. Meanwhile, in order to destroy the Rangers and conquer Earth, Emperor Mavro decides to send every Armada ship in the galaxy to attack the planet. Levira is given a chance to redeem herself, so she creates her own Megazord and goes after the Rangers. When Gosei tells the Rangers about Mavro’s plans, Troy says that even though they will have to face thousands of enemies, they have every Power Ranger in history fighting beside them. The Rangers, with the help of Legendary Ranger mode, easily defeat Levira and the Royal Guard with no major trouble at all, but it is revealed that Emperor Mavro used Levira to buy the Armada ships time to reach Earth.Armada ships then fully cloud the sky, and begin to destroy the city with powerful laser beams. The Rangers combine every Legendary Zord they have in their arsenal and effectively destroy most of the ships, but a bigger second wave of ships arrive, and destroys all of the Rangers’ Zords before sending their Legendary Megazord crashing to the ground. The Armada Mothership then delivers a final strike on the Megazord, blowing it to pieces. At the same time, Orion listens to Mavro’s threatening messages in his ship. With the Rangers knocked out, Emperor Mavro sends a final message to humanity, telling them that the Armada will be taking over the planet once and for all because of the Earthlings’ strong resistance against the Armada. He then declares that the Armada will finish the job the next day at dawn. With the city in ruins, many civilians question whether or not Mavro’s claim to have destroyed the Power Rangers is true. As the Megaforce Rangers regroup, several Legendary Rangers – including Tommy Oliver, Cassie Chan, T.J. Johnson, Leo Corbett, Carter Grayson, and Dana Mitchell – are seen throughout the city helping citizens out of dangerous situations. As the citizens prepare for the Armada’s attack at dawn, other Legendary Rangers – including Damon Henderson, Karone, and Wesley Collins – are seen amongst the crowds as well.HistoricrangersThe Rangers contact Gosei, who expresses his confidence in their ability to succeed despite the loss of their Zords. While the Rangers are initially despondent, Troy rallies them with an encouraging speech, and a familiar Armada ship soon descends with a welcome addition to their forces: a returning Orion. The next day, Redker leads a force of Armada robots to attack the city, only to be challenged by the Rangers. After briefly helping the others fight him, Troy and Orion determine that their only hope of defeating the Armada for good is to infiltrate the Armada flagship and challenge Emperor Mavro head on. Leaving their four friends to continue the battle, they board Orion’s ship and manage to crash it into the flagship and make their way aboard. While their friends defeat Redker, the pair challenge Mavro, but he proves a formidable combatant.42However, they manage to turn the flagship’s firepower on the rest of the Armada fleet, decimating the entire force in less than a minute. Using their full power, they then defeat Mavro and send the flagship plummeting towards Earth. Much to the horror of their friends, they apparently perish in the crash as the vessel explodes. However, using the powers of the Red and Silver Space Rangers, the two manage to get out of the ship before it crashes. Unfortunately for the Rangers Mavro has survived as well and proceeds to attack them. The rangers then go all out, using nearly all of their legendary powers. Using their legendary power-up modes, they deal the final attack and finally destroy Emperor Mavro. The group celebrate their victory, only to spot one final menace: a massive army of X-Borgs and Bruisers marching towards the city, summoned by Mavro in his final act of villainy. Despite being vastly outnumbered, the six Rangers are determined to fight, and then receive one final surprise: the Legendary Rangers all appear to aid them in this final confrontation. The Megaforce Rangers gladly welcome their new allies, and refrain from going into Super Megaforce mode due to their confidence about the outcome of the battle. After a furious struggle, all the robots are defeated, and the veteran Rangers-led by Tommy-bid farewell to the Megaforce, assuring them that the older Rangers will always be with them. With that, the Legendary Rangers disperse, and the Megaforce Rangers decide to celebrate their victory, with Troy leaving his sword behind at the site of the final battle.
