However, while the other Carrangers handle the Gorotsuki, Red Racer drives Signalman-remebering how he delt with a runaway gang of alien teenagers-to ahead of the cars to use his heart-warming song to guilt-trip the cars to return to Earth with Sutatanzo retreating. Later, after being forced to return to garage on foot, Kyosuke arrives to a hot spring where he finds a strange monster who is pursued by UAOH. The monster, Bara Mobile, manages to win Kyosuke over with a sob story of persecution as his teammates arrive. 600full-gekisou-sentai-carranger-vs.-ohranger-screenshot

The UAOH team is also gathered and, after questioning each other, both teams transform to battle it out. While the others pilot RV Robo and OHranger Robo in the fight’s climax, Red Racer fights OhRed to protect Bara Mobile. However, the Carranger’s transformation attracts the Bowzock who help the OhRed fight Red Racer before it escalates into a highway chase scene. After Red Racer learns that Bara Mobile is really evil, the villain revealing his insane plot to convert humans into Car-Humans, he stops Pegasus Thunder to hand him over to OhRed. Under Exhaus’s orders, while holding the regrouped Carrangers off, Gynamo has his men to take Bara Mobile back with them to the Baribarian with OhRed captured as well thanks to Sutatanzo’s high octane gas. The other Ohrangers arrive, learning of their leader’s capture with intent to report it to Chief Miura so Kyosuke would face the consequences.C9T9oAOWsAERyiyLater, Chief Miura arrives to the Pegasus Garage and offers not to press charges if the Carrangers rescue OhRed. But it requires them to undergo harsh special training to pilot OHRanger Robo, with Kyosuke being the most tortured among the group. Though the Carrangers passed, Exhaus expected the rescue attempt and had the Bowzock set up a trap so they be subjected to Bara Mobile’s experiment and become Car-Humans along with Goro. But Red Racer was not among the captured and he manages to save the others as they destroy Bara Mobile’s lab. Taking the fight back to Earth, the Carrangers and OHRangers take out the Wumpers before defeating SS Sutanzo and Bara Mobile with a Booster Cannon/OHren Bazooka combo. The two monsters then enlarge with VRV Robo and Ohranger Robo formed to fight them. However, the fight becomes more hectic when Norshirion-Extra appears before Sirender arrives to even the odds as the Sentai mecha use their signature attacks to destroy the three villains. Soon after, having buried the hatchet, the two Sentai teams celebrate their win on the beach.carrangerCarranger VS Ohranger is a pretty good team up, showing decent elements from both shows. It’s such a shame we never got a Zeo/Turbo crossover.

Emperor Bacchus Wrath and Prince Buldont hold a contest between them to determine who is more capable of destroying the Ohrangers. Bacchus Wrath creates Bara Gear to steal the Ohranger Robo, while Buldont summons a Youkai named Onbu-Obake. In Power Rangers Zeo, there was a 2-part episode titled Rangers Of Two Worlds. The episode featured the Zeo Rangers teaming up with the Alien Rangers to stop King Mondo and his machines. In my later years, as I discovered Sentai, I wondered what was cut out of the episode. It seemed that there wasn’t too much left out, which led to a little bit of disappointment. Unlike its succeeding team-up movies, this one doesn’t use the mecha from the previous series. Only the Ohranger mecha are seen. The movie plays like an episode of Ohranger, opening and closing as such with very little special treatment given. Kakuranger doesn’t even show up until the second half of the movie. Strangely enough, they’re the only ones who get a true henshin sequence in the movie. Still, it was cool seeing what was cut out and what was changed, specifically the nature of the odd pink monster. Still, for something that hadn’t been attempted since Goranger vs. JAKQ in the early days of Sentai, this was pretty good. Check it out if you’re a Sentai or a Power Rangers fan.maxresdefault

YogaHosersPoster_1200_1534_81_sThe movie begins with Buldont and Acha scouting the location for his film studio (Buldont Studio) and the film The Century of Baranoia that he is preparing to make. Camera Trick is dispatched to kidnap unwilling participants in the film. After a string of disappearances, Goro (Ohred) and Juri (Ohyellow) are sent to investigate. They discover that Acha is distributing flyers from a plane to recruit cast for the film. They also encounter Camera Trick after it kidnaps a girl reading the flyer. The two give chase, but are intercepted by a malfunctioning Barlo Soldier.

The group of kidnapped kids are greeted by Locker Knight then led into Buldont Studio and shown around the bizarre soundstage where Acha introduces himself as Producer. They are given “Artificial Reality” goggles and are lead on a virtual train ride where they meet with Neko Signal. Goro and Juri meet up with Shohei (Ohgreen), Yuji (Ohblue), and Momo (Ohpink) who are waiting for them just outside of Buldont Studio. They break into the studio in their groups just as the kidnapped kids are lead away on a bus. Once on the soundstage Shohei, Yuji, and Momo are attacked by Kabochumpkin while Goro and Juri fight Neko Signal and Jagchuck. After their brief seperate fights, all three monsters vanish forcing the now rejoined Ohrangers to travel through a mysterious portal to a battlefield.

Once on the field they chase after the runaway bus with the kids, on horseback, after their driver is accidently shot. They manage to save the kids just in time before the bus explodes. They then try to escape, but are trapped on a suspension bridge which predictably breaks, causing the Ohrangers to fall and the kids to get kidnapped by Baranoia once again. The Ohrangers make it back to the battlefield where they discover that the masked grunts that the Barlo Soldiers have been fighting are really kidnapped people. The kidnapped kids are set up for execution but are saved by the Ohrangers just in time. After fighting off the Barlo Soldiers, they stun Locker Knight, Neko Signal, Kabochumpkin, and Jagchuck with a shot from the Big Bang Buster. All four monster combine into the gigantic Steampunk, which once again kidnaps the kids. Ohrangerrobo is summoned and the two begin fighting. Ohred enters Steampunk and retrieves the kids for the final time. Steampunk now transforms into a locomotive form to attempt to evade Ohrangerrobo. Ohrangerrobo does the Crown Final Crash while Steampunk is crossing a bridge which destroys the bridge and causes Steampunk to fall to his explosive death. Buldont, Acha, and Kocha abandon the studio and flee Earth.GoldenjaThe Ohranger Movie is possibly the most crazy bananas Tokusatsu feature ever made. On top of being straight up weird, it is delightfully entertaining. There are plenty of little skirmishes throughout and, despite it’s extended runtime, never a dull moment.

YogaHosersPoster_1200_1534_81_sIn the year 1999, the Machine Empire of Baranoia, led by Emperor Bacchushund, invades Earth with the intention of wiping out all human life and bringing about machine rule. Assembling pieces of a stone plate uncovered three years previously, he reveals the secrets of “Super Power”. Enlisting an elite five-man team of the United Airforce’s finest pilots, Miura builds a pyramid to generate Tetrahedron power in order to allow five UAOH officers to transform into the Ohrangers and stop Baranoia’s invasion.ohranger3Chouriki Sentai Ohranger is a special and also infamous moment in Super Sentai. The series aired during the 20th anniversary of the franchise in 1995 and brought Gorenger and JAKQ back into “the family” so to speak after years of being ignored as the first ever entries to commemorate the anniversary of Gorenger which debuted in 1975. The plan the staff of the series wanted to execute was bringing back the majority of veteran writers and have the advances of special effects and storytelling bring a darker reimagined concept of the original superhero military task force with the theme being an alien invasion and the horrors of war.Tumblr_n6zjfh5A9y1s5uxaeo2_1280However, 1995 was an awful year for Japan as they suffered one of the worst earthquakes ever in years which killed thousands and suffered a terrorist attack by a cult which killed even more civilians on a subway from sarin gas poison.Oh2Naturally, citizens watching a TV show featuring buildings blowing up and alluding to terrorist plots by the alien Baranoia villains made the network executives nervous so the original idea was shoved aside after episode 10. This led to tonal whiplash which plagued the series for a bit, the ratings going up and down wildly. Despite this, toy sales were outstanding for the show and that allowed the franchise to keep going but also shaped the aspect that toys and merchandise would be the dominant factor in determining whether a series was a success or a failure as shows would get more toyetic.740full-chouriki-sentai-ohranger-photoAnother great Super Sentai, yes it has it’s flaws but it’s still a fun show to watch and is a must to fans of Power Rangers of Super Sentai.

College student Takeshi Hongo is abducted into terrorist organisation Shocker (Sacred Hegemony Of Cycle Kindred Evolutional Realm), at the hands of a cyborg Inhumanoid (Kaijin) known as the Bat. There, he undergoes painful reconstructive surgery, turning him into an Inhumanoid himself. Unlike the original series, he does not escape prior to mental condition by Shocker, and becomes one of their soldiers, nicknamed “Hopper”. He carries out a mission successfully, and meets Shocker’s Major Agents, including Dr. Shinigami. Hongo receives his orders— Kill those who have seen Shocker’s Inhumanoid soldiers. However, what he doesn’t realise is that the two witnesses are the journalist who had interviewed him prior to his kidnapping, Asuka Midorikawa (Rena Komine) and her fiancé Katsuhiko Yano (Hassei Takano). Attacking the two along with Shocker soldier Spider, it is here that Hongo remembers his humanity, and has an epiphany with regards to what he should do. Despite his efforts, Katsuhiko is killed by Spider, and Asuka finds Hongo next to the body. Blaming him for Katsuhiko’s death, she begins to follow him, attempting to ascertain why who she thought was a normal college student is a murderer.
Kamen Rider: The First movie scenes Kamen Rider Dragon Knight movie
Meanwhile, at Shocker headquarters, it is revealed that those who undergo Shocker’s treatment need periodic blood transfusions, lest they reject their cybernetic components. Though Hongo seems to lack the need for the transfusions, he is labeled a “traitor” by Shocker and must be destroyed. It is here that Dr. Shinigami reveals his plan to create a second soldier based on Hopper’s design to do the job. Hongo, having now abandoned Shocker, visits Tōbei Tachibana, who gives him his motorcycle, the Cyclone. He is then able to defeat Spider. Asuka meets Hayato Ichimonji, who is identical to her fiancé, who she thought was dead. He reveals that “Katsuhiko Yano” was an alias. What he doesn’t tell Asuka is that he has been kidnapped by Shocker and turned into the 2nd Hopper. His mission: defeat Hongo at any cost.
Kamen Rider The First
The film also features a subplot, interspersed throughout. It involves two terminally ill hospital patients, who get a chance to live after an offer by Shocker. The couple is taken to Shocker’s island base, where they laugh and play under the watchful eye of Shocker’s sinister bird logo. It is only then that it is revealed that this part of the film has been a flashback, taking place around a year ago. The two had undergone the reconfiguration and surfaced in the current story as Shocker soldiers Cobra and Snake, who branded Ichimonji a traitor for failing Shocker by putting his feelings for Asuka first.  Ultimately, the Riders team up after Bat attempts to kidnap Asuka and turn her into an Inhumanoid, which enrages Ichimonji enough to cause him to turn on his former masters. They defeat Shocker’s three cyborg soldiers at their island base, but Shinigami and other Major Agents have survived, and they’re already in the fashioning of a new base of operations while plotting a new scheme to eliminate Riders, once and for all.dekaranger10years

Overall if you were a fan of the original, I think The First is a must see, but still good entertainment if you just happen to like superheroes and anime. The First successfully captures that magic from the past, and relaunch it with modern film production values

The movie starts with the Legends War that was mentioned in episode one of Gokaiger as we see the Goseigers having issues with their fight. They try to retreat to rest for a while, but more of the Zangyack appear, but Akaranger and Big One appear! The two tell the Goseigers about the other sentai members giving up their lives to end the Zangyack as the Goseigers will join them. More troops appear though, but luckily the Extra Heroes appear so that the team could get to the final battle. There we see every sentai warrior excluding the Gokaigers fight the Zangyack and some scenes are from episode one, but they did insert some other scenes along with voice acting from the original actors.

Then it comes as every team tries to get rid of the Zangyack with one big blast as the Extra Heroes join as well as their powers explode and destroy the fleet. Luckily everyone survived, but now their powers have scattered into space as we see more veteran heroes talk to the Goseigers and we see Akared in space. Now time has passed as we see the Gokaigers fight the Barizorg and Insarn and this takes place after their first encounter with Basco. Of course the team take down the troops, but when they take out the Goseiger keys the original members come out and take them as they get their powers back. Insarn and Barizorg soon retreat as Alata tries to talk to the other team about GoseiKnight’s key. With no knowledge of past sentai teams they don’t know who Knight is. Also the Gokaigers don’t want any more keys taken from them as they soon fight. Everything ends at a draw when the two finishers collide and explode as both teams are blasted away. Meanwhile with the Zangyack Gill complaining again about his plans being ruined. Soon though a dark figure appears before them as it is Kuro Jujigun Soutou! He has come back from the dead for revenge on the Super Sentai and the people who believed in them as he will kill them off and has no attentions for Earth. The Zangyack agree with his terms as they make a pact.

I love how each member interacted with each other, but the best was Luka and Moune as they are very similar and it added some nice comedy to the movie. The fights were great as the higher budget does help with that as it can look a little nicer to see. Seeing veterans is always a plus even if they have short scenes as seeing past actors act as their roles once more brings iconic value and tons of nostalgia. This movie is over the top in a good way though as the fights are done well and have amazing moments like the all mecha fight!

This is a movie that is simply freaking amazing if you’re a Sentai fan as there are many references and past methods used in this movie. The fights are amazing with great choreography and many iconic things like past actors and even villains.
