fuller-house-final-seasonWhen Season 5 of ‘Fuller House’ began, Stephanie Tanner (Jodie Sweetin) and Jimmy Gibbler (Adam Hagenbuch) came back home with their baby girl after Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber) gave birth to Stephanie’s baby after being a surrogate for her. With the end looming, the first part also saw the heartwarming and beautiful proposal DJ Tanner-Fuller (Candace Cameron Bure) arranged for herself (she thought she was doing it for Kimmy) when Steve Hale (Scott Weinger), DJ’s high school sweetheart, asked her to marry him.1c0b3a5e-a84f-437c-a1e8-82638c434fa1-fh_508_unit_00203_rWith all three ladies finally engaged, the agenda for the final episodes were set — a triple wedding. As one character says in one of the episodes in Season 5B, pleasing one bride is hard enough — will they be able to pull off pleasing all three? If there’s one thing the ‘Full House’ reboot has shown, it’s that all three ladies — DJ, Steph, and Kimmy — often work as one unit, even with wildly differing tastes. Their mutual planning leads up to a beautiful wedding that’s put together at the last minute after plenty of things go wrong in the series finale.02tvcol-fuller-mobileMasterAt3xWe also get to see the return of the legacy cast, Danny Tanner (Bob Saget), Joey Gladstone (Dave Coulier), and Jesse Katsopolis (John Stamos) — with the noted exception of Jesse’s wife, Becky (Lori Loughlin) — in multiple episodes. All three of them walk the brides down the aisle and even give fitting toasts to end the series — something they did not get to do in the original series. Then there are the men of ‘Fuller House’, Steve, Jimmy, and Kimmy’s beau, Fernando Hernandez-Guerrero-Fernandez-Guerrero (Juan Pablo Di Pace) who get to spend more scenes together this time around as the men have their tuxedo fittings and their bachelor party in an ax-throwing club. More seasons might have meant further exploration of the “he-wolf pack.”Screen-Shot-2020-05-29-at-8.17.00-PMThe five seasons of ‘Fuller House’ have also seen the kids growing up — both the characters and the actors. Jackson Fuller (Michael Campion), Max Fuller (Elias Harger), Ramona Gibbler (Soni Nicole Bringas), and Tommy Fuller Jr (Dashiell and Fox Messitt) grow up to be pretty close siblings, and considering how they started out, it was sweet to watch. While fans of the ‘Fuller House’ series might be satisfied with the final episodes, perhaps fans of ‘Full House’ may not have felt the end was as befitting — after all, this is the second time we are bidding farewell to the Tanner household and even if it may be more than twenty years later, the impact of ‘Full House’ on viewers is evident as the reboot featured multiple throwbacks.1_Q8ZXsFJZk4wXjxTcwdqlrAEven so, the final episodes manage to do ‘Fuller House’ justice. Even if the reboot won’t be as beloved as the original, we still got to see DJ, Steph, Kimmy, and Steve all grown up and living their adult lives — something we don’t often get to see with many favorite childhood television shows. Perhaps Netflix might revisit bringing back the Tanner-Fuller-Gibbler families for another run to give these families a farewell with more closure.

Kirsten Dunst in On Becoming a God in Central Florida (2019)“On Becoming a God in Central Florida” is such a clever, compelling, and thorough evisceration of American capitalism it’s shocking Elizabeth Warren isn’t listed as an executive producer. Created by Robert Funke and Matt Lutsky, Showtime’s new hourlong black comedy does feature a few well-known progressive producers in EPs George Clooney and Grant Heslov, but the ’90s-set story of lower-middle class Floridians put to ruin by a pyramid scheme isn’t solely a political statement; it chronicles a tragedy in action, as the promise of the American dream is ripped away from those who believe in it — and need it — the most. Like any great satire, you won’t be able to tell if you’re laughing so hard it hurts, or if you’ve just been punched in the gut.Kirsten Dunst and Théodore Pellerin in On Becoming a God in Central Florida (2019)The awesome Kirsten Dunst (also an EP) is the story here, bringing a captivating vitality and unflinching veracity to her lead character, Krystal Stubbs. A the beginning, however, the starry-eyed dreamer is embodied by none other than a mullet-sporting, profusely sweaty (like, Justin Theroux-level sweaty), and stunningly unfashionable Alexander Skarsgård. Travis Stubbs, husband to Krystal, is a frustrated insurance salesman who’s become discontented with his one-story house, compact car, and average lifestyle. His wife clocks in and out at the local water park while he slaves away at two jobs: his nine-to-five desk gig and spearheading his own company — well, not exactly his own company.Kirsten Dunst in On Becoming a God in Central Florida (2019)Though his FAM brethren would remind Travis he’s absolutely his own boss, the tall, lanky, former football star still spends his nights making door-to-door deliveries, stocking boxes in his garage, or recruiting new “downlines” — aka “independent contractors” who give part of their profits to Travis, who in turns gives part of his cut to his “upline,” and so on and so forth. They’re all hocking Founders American Merchandise, which is, of course, a pyramid scheme. It’s a cultish, multibillion-dollar pyramid scheme, but a pyramid scheme nonetheless. Sitting at the top is Obie Garbeau II (Ted Levine), a mustachioed millionaire whose deep voice fills the motivational tapes his FAM family is required to purchase. Obie is only accessible to those Jefferson-level members, and only then via crowded retreats where each FAM couple does a song and dance in the hopes of five minutes with the company founder.Kirsten Dunst in On Becoming a God in Central Florida (2019)If that sounds like a lot for anyone to take, rest assured the series depicts the obsessive fandom surrounding Obie quite well, illustrating a thorough and convincing mass brainwashing where there’s an answer to every question and an encouragement for every doubt. Even those who’ve avoided recruitment have a hard time keeping their brains from dreaming of the rewards these hucksters promise, in part because their enthusiasm is otherworldly. The most convincing member is Travis’ own upline, Cody (Théodore Pellerin), whose fanatical fandom over Obie and FAM is like seeing a DCEU Twitter troll spring to life: He’s so thoroughly bought into a sham, and yet he’s so impossibly joyous about his own gullibility.Kirsten Dunst in On Becoming a God in Central Florida (2019)Pellerin’s conviction is thrilling to behold, especially considering how much intensity he has to bring to each layer of Cody’s fragile psyche, just to keep his baseline state as a jubilant con man believable. The cast overall is working at a top level, with Skarsgård operating miles away from his Emmy-winning smooth talker on “Big Little Lies” and Mel Rodriguez mining new depths as the lovable, good-hearted family man audiences got to know in “The Last Man on Earth.” But this is Dunst’s series. From the start, you can tell there’s something special about her and Krystal; the latter doesn’t take any of Cody’s bullshit. She’s not some doting wife, worried about her husband’s work ethic while turning a blind (or oblivious) eye to the Sisyphean mountain he’s trying to climb. Krystal sees things clearly. She values what they already have and is trying to hold her family together while raising a newborn and making minimum wage. She speaks to Travis clearly and forcefully, telling him what he needs to hear in the only way he might be able to listen.Kirsten Dunst in On Becoming a God in Central Florida (2019)At one point in the premiere, Krystal says, “I will not be poor again,” and Dunst emphasizes the line so clearly, it defines her backstory and sets her path forward. You understand Krystal then, so that each choice that follows makes perfect sense. There are times when Dunst flaunts unexpected emotional nuance that deepens our ties to Krystal — in how she skins an alligator, for instance, or when she unveils a former, unparalleled dance routine — but the true power of her turn comes in how the actor is able to make the audience relate to Krystal as anyone and everyone. The fear of an indebted life — one controlled by lenders, collectors, and powerful institutions you can’t even put a face to — that’s a real fear, and Dunst acknowledges the trepidation while fighting tooth and nail against it every second of the way.Kirsten Dunst in On Becoming a God in Central Florida (2019)Set against the absurd splendor of the southeastern Sunshine State, “On Becoming a God in Central Florida” squeezes quite a bit of creative juice out of this particular orange. The locales are lively yet unexaggerated; the cast is quirky yet never to the point of distraction; the arcs are peculiar — at one point, a man wrestles a giant pelican with his bare hands — and yet they make a lot of sense as they’re happening. In that way, the series can resemble the very pyramid scheme its critiquing, but this story never feels like a lie. You don’t have to be well-acquainted with Florida, or to have just watched “The Florida Project” to see a struggling working class in this country.Kirsten Dunst in On Becoming a God in Central Florida (2019)Through some savvy narrative maneuvering, “On Becoming a God” connects the charlatans and con men of FAM to politicians, corporate overlords, and America’s 1 percent, as well — all the wealthy people up top, only working to keep their downlines in service. Showtime’s strong new series never forgets about the individuals who still think America is working for them, nor does it treat them with disdain. “Central Florida” understands how attractive the offer can look, and punches up at the liars instead of down at anyone eager to buy in. The surroundings might be pink and shiny, but the good folks like Krystal Stubbs, with their noses forever pressed to window of their dream home, are as real as they come. If only someone had a plan to fix things for ’em…

Two years after the episode “A Minor Problem”, Dr. David Banner has been gainfully employed at the Joshua-Lambert Research Institute (as David Bannion) where he and a team of scientists are putting the final touches on a Gamma Transponder, which he intends to use to cure him of his ability to turn into the Hulk. He has not changed into the Hulk for two years since he met a young widow, Maggie Shaw, with whom he is romantically involved. By chance, he is recognized by a former student of his, Donald Blake. Blake claims that, on an expedition in the Norwegian mountains, he found an enchanted hammer containing the soul of Thor, an immortal Norse warrior banished by Odin to Earth to earn worthiness into Valhalla.
Power-Rangers-Beast-Morphe
Thor is reluctantly compelled to serve Blake, who is unnerved by this. Banner does not believe him, so Blake summons Thor into Banner’s laboratory. Thor damages equipment and angers Banner until he turns into the Hulk, who easily fights him off and leaves.Image result for the incredible hulk returnsIn the morning, Banner scolds Blake for setting back his experiment and demands that he and Thor make amends. Journalist Jack McGee, who once spent years chasing the Hulk, hears about the sightings of the Hulk and Thor and vows to expose them. Thor laments the misery of his banishment and he and Blake attend a tavern where he can fight, drink and embrace the company of women as he would do so in Valhalla. The two become friends and briefly entertain the possibility of Thor using his powers to fight crime. A criminal organisation within the Joshua-Lambert Institute seek to kidnap Banner and the Transponder, but the Hulk effortlessly dispatches them. The mob leader LeBeau targets Dr. Shaw instead of Banner. Mob members disguised as police officers ambush Banner and Shaw and kidnap Shaw despite the combined efforts of the Hulk and Thor.

LeBeau blackmails Banner into handing over the Transponder in return for Shaw’s life. Banner sabotages the Transponder so it cannot be used as a weapon, essentially destroying his chance of curing his condition. Lambert, a mob informant within the company, outlives his usefulness and is shot, but asks to see Banner, revealing where Shaw is being held, in an abandoned warehouse. Hulk, Blake and Thor ambush the warehouse and fight off a small army of gunmen to rescue Shaw. McGee is once again the subject of ridicule for his obsession with the Hulk and now Thor. Blake and Banner both agree that Shaw has likely figured out that Banner and the Hulk are one and the same and that Banner should leave to protect her. Thor and Blake, now at peace with each other, say their goodbyes to Banner. Banner is forced to end his relationship with Shaw and, as ever, walks alone into the distance.Bill Bixby once again delivers nothing short of superb excellence in his performance as Dr. David Banner (or David Banyon to everyone around him).

Lou Ferrigno was bigger and bulkier than ever as the Hulk and gave an outstanding performance. I enjoyed seeing Jack Colvin one more time as Jack McGee, but only wished he had been in there more. Noteworthy villains were Tim Thomerson and veteran Hulk guest actor Charles Napier. Lance Rubin was the right man to succeed Joe Harnell in the musical score and gave it a more technological late 80’s sound. What I didn’t care for was the addition of Thor and Donald Blake. This movie did not need that. But for what it’s worth, Eric Allen Kramer was fun and amusing as Thor, the Norse God and Steve Levitt’s Don Blake was pretty much a geek. It was like the Geek and the Jock as best friends.Image result for the incredible hulk returnsI would definitely recommend this reunion movie to anybody who has never seen it. Even though it’s a little more comic bookish in story than the old series, it’s still worth watching. I give it two thumbs up.

MV5BMTAyMDAwNzQwMTVeQTJeQWpwZ15BbWU4MDg1MDI4NzIx._V1_Two and a Half Men was a television situational comedy (sitcom) about a carefree, womanizing bachelor whose life is turned upside down when his neurotic bother and son move in. The series first aired in 2003 and was widely received by audiences, as well as critics — winning the People’s Choice award for Favorite New Comedy Series. The show’s success is an excellent rounded cast, witty dialogue, and all-around goofy storylines. What it boils down to is that Two and a Half Men is a fun-filled sitcom that is nonstop with laughter.MV5BMTUyMzU3MTAxOF5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTgwMzMzMjg3MjE@._V1_In the series’ pilot episode introduces one of the three main characters, Charlie Harper (Charlie Sheen). He is an easygoing bachelor with a fabulous house on the beaches of Malibu. For work, he is a successful composer and writes jingles. Life is perfect for Charlie, with little responsibility, lots of money, and oodles of women. While spending an exotic evening with a female friend, Charlie’s life is disrupted when his brother Alan (Jon Cryer) shows up. Alan was married to Judith (Marin Hinkle) for twelve years. They have a son together named Jake (Angus T. Jones). Alan comes to Charlie in a time of need, after Judith kicked him out.MV5BMjI4MzcyNTk2Nl5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTgwOTkzMjg3MjE@._V1_Charlie reluctantly lets his brother stay with him, but agrees on a temporary basis. Unfortunately for Charlie’s wild social life, Alan and his son Jake turn a short stay into a permanent one. Joining the two and a half men are Evelyn (Holland Taylor), the Harper boys’ domineering and loving mother, Rose (Melanie Lynskey), the crazy next-door neighbor who had a one night stand with Charlie and has been stalking him since, and Berta (Conchata Ferrell), the tough house keeper who is more than willing to put Charlie in his place.MV5BMjE3NzQwMzAzM15BMl5BanBnXkFtZTgwODEzMjg3MjE@._V1_After the season one pilot episode, the series continues with Charlie, Alan, Jake, and company getting used to their new lives together. The show’s comedy follows two primary avenues. First, Charlie and Alan have opposite personalities. While Charlie is carefree and easygoing, Alan is neurotic and compulsive. They have different expectations of life and their personality clashes make for some fun moments. Second, the formulation of the Charlie-Alan-Jake relationship is constantly at the fore. Charlie’s hip lifestyle isn’t exactly the best influence for a 10-year-old boy, but Jake, on more than one occasion, takes after his uncle. And it drives Alan crazy to no end.In general, the comedy comes off rich. The three primary characters (Charlie, Alan, Jake) have a great chemistry together. Sheen’s character Charlie resembles his role of Charlie Crawford from Spin City. He has a quick and dry wit that plays well against Cryer and Jones. Cryer is especially good with his neurotic character and delivers a convincing performance. Jones brings a youthful innocence that compliments Sheen’s womanizing personality and Cryer’s neurotic behavior. The supporting characters offer decent additions to the cast, but are as strong as the three lead characters.MV5BMTQxMjk1NTIyNV5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTgwNTgzMjg3MjE@._V1_For fun season one episodes, some of the best deal with Charlie’s lifestyle shaping Jake. “If They Do Go Either Way, They’re Usually Fake” is a classic episode and a perfect example of the wonderful chemistry between the three lead actors. While having breakfast, Jake witnesses the undressed half of one of Charlie’s female friends. The incident peaks his interest in the female form (to Alan and Judith’s dismay). The result is several fun moments with a sexually-charged boy, a supporting Charlie, and two unhappy parents. “Big Flappy Bastards” is another fun one, where Jake rebels against Charlie’s authority and he learns what it means to be a parent.MV5BMGZjMTg2NWEtZjczYS00NjI0LWJkNWQtYzY5MTEyYThjNmFjXkEyXkFqcGdeQXVyNTQ0NDExMjQ@._V1_Other fun episodes include “The Last Thing You Want Is to Wind Up With a Hump”, a solid episode with sex at the fore and a few desperate soccer moms, “Camel Filters And Pheromones”, Berta’s attractive granddaughter sets a (metaphorical) fire in the house, “An Old Flame With A New Wick”, Charlie’s ex-girlfriend resurfaces as a man and it is an awkward situation for the two and a half men, and “Can You Feel My finger?”, Charlie has a pregnancy scare and considers having a vasectomy.MV5BMjM5NzkxMDYxOV5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTgwMzYzMjg3MjE@._V1_Overall, Two and a Half Men is a fun sitcom with a strong leading cast and solid writing. The season one episodes are a great collection of episodes that will leave you laughing at every turn.

I have loved Mike & Molly since the pilot, and thoroughly enjoyed every episode all the way through the series finale. There was a special magic that the series had. A genuine mix of hardcore laughs and real heart that made the show’s characters multi-dimensional and downright entertaining. They were characters you wanted to watch, wanted to see in their greatest moments and darkest defeats. Mike & Molly delivered so many memorable moments over its much too short six season run. It’s a series that I will definitely miss. When I heard the series was being cancelled and that the final season would be cut down to only 13 episodes, I was a bit surprised. It’s a solid Chuck Lorre series, the man who brought us Two and a Half Men, The Big Bang Theory, and Mom, had yet another feather in his cap with Mike & Molly. It had even earned star Melissa McCarthy an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.Mike & Molly mixed edgy, broad comedy with heartwarming moments from flawed, outspoken characters. It was unapologetic in its approach to getting laughs, much like Two and a Half Men. But while Two and a Half Men was joke-joke-joke, Mike & Molly had the ability to balance the joke-joke-joke formula with many touching and even tear-inducing moments over the course of its run. I think it’s what made it easier to connect with them: they weren’t just joke machines; they came across as real people in a lot of ways.Watching such a talented cast bring 110% to each episode was always a treat. Melissa McCarthy and Billy Gardell brought us Molly Flynn and Mike Biggs, two strangers who met at an Overeaters’ Anonymous Meeting. Their story grew from first date, to moving in together, to engagement, to marriage, to trying to have a baby, to changing careers, to deciding to adopt all in six short seasons.Along for the ride were Mike’s best friend Carl (Reno Wilson); Molly’s mom and sister, Joyce and Victoria, (Swoosie Kurtz and Katy Mixon); Carl’s eventual roommate, Samuel (Nyambi Nyambi); Joyce’s husband, Vince (Louis Mustillo); Mike’s mom, Peggy (Rondi Reed); and Carl’s Grandma (Cleo King). And, of course, we can’t forget Peggy’s dog, Jim (Suzie Q).When you have a supporting cast like these performers, it’s no wonder the series had as many laughs as it did. All of them were spot-on with their characters, never missing a beat, always on their game and ready to play comedy hardball. I feel the sign of a great cast is when you can mix random characters together and the comedy still plays. The Mike & Molly cast is one of these ensembles. You can have any character paired with any other character and there will be guaranteed laughs.Baby BumpI would like to add a note about Melissa McCarthy. She is amazing as a sitcom actor. It’s definitely a medium she is comfortable in and I would love to see her back doing it again. Her ability to not only deliver great comedic lines but also her penchant for physical comedy and her no-fear attitude puts her in the  book of great sitcom comediennes. So, what did I think of the final season? I loved it. It was short, but I loved every minute of it. I guess it’s better for the series to end on a high note than to end and people ask “Was that still on?” I have to admit I did shed a tear during the final moments of the finale.107713_wb_0168bI love it, I’ll miss it, but it’s on DVD forever so at least it’s not gone forever! Thank you, Mike & Molly cast and crew for six great seasons of laughs!

The boys go on a road trip when they discover there is only one designer who makes the dress that Michelle wants. They go to Chicago looking for “Leslie Sommers”; Stifler unwittingly walks into a gay bar, and his raucous behavior gets him into a dispute with several patrons. Stifler challenges Bear to a dance-off, wins, and Bear offers to provide strippers for the bachelor party. Leslie reveals “him”self and agrees to make the dress for Michelle. Michelle’s parents, who were initially skeptical of Jim, agree to have a preliminary dinner with him.Michelle’s younger sister, Cadence, flies in for the wedding. Both Finch and Stifler are attracted to her, and in an effort to win her over, they each adopt the other’s personality and mannerisms. Stifler arranges the bachelor party, including strippers, for everyone at Jim’s house except Jim, who unknowingly has arranged dinner with Michelle’s parents there. The party is abruptly halted by the unexpected return of the three. With assistance from Bear, who poses as a butler named “Mr. Belvedere”, Jim nearly succeeds in keeping the activities a secret, until Michelle’s mother opens a closet door and is shocked to find Kevin inside, stripped to his boxers and tied to a chair. The boys explain that it was an attempt to make Jim seem like a hero that went wrong, and Michelle’s parents accept this and tell him that if he puts that much effort into the upcoming marriage, she can give her blessing.Michelle has doubts regarding that Jim’s paternal grandmother dislikes Michelle for not being Jewish, and about Stifler’s invite to the wedding. Previously, Stifler, unaware of Cadence’s presence, had revealed his true rude and obnoxious personality. When Stifler later returns, the flowers are dead. Enraged, Jim asks him to leave, and all the others, including Cadence, support Jim’s decision.Feeling guilty for his thoughtless behavior, Stifler convinces the florist to put together a new batch of flowers, and he enlists the help of his football players and Bear. As a gesture of remorse, he also gives a rose to Cadence, much to the amazement of Jim and Michelle. Moved by his actions, Cadence agrees to have sex with him in a supply closet before the ceremony, but Stifler’s presence is delayed by a brief thank-you meeting Jim calls among his groomsmen, citing how he is grateful to have friends like them to back him up. Quickly returning to the hotel, Stifler hears someone in the supply closet and steps inside, unaware that Cadence was interrupted by wedding preparations and that the ushers placed Jim’s grandmother in that closet to sustain her hostility about the wedding; Stifler only realizes this upon walk-in by Finch and the ushers. She becomes pleasant, particularly towards Stifler, making Michelle and Jim’s dad unknowingly happy.Despite the chaotic events leading up to it, Michelle and Jim get married. At the reception, the couple dances while Stifler dances with Cadence. Finch is sitting by himself when Stifler’s mom arrives. At a Detroit theater showing kung fu films, Alabama Whitman strikes up a conversation with Elvis Presley fanatic Clarence Worley. The two later have sex at Clarence’s apartment in downtown Detroit. Alabama tearfully confesses that she is a call girl hired by Clarence’s boss as a birthday present, but has fallen in love with Clarence. They later marry. An apparition of Elvis appears to Clarence and convinces him to kill Alabama’s pimp Drexl. Clarence goes to the brothel where Alabama had worked, shoots and kills Drexl, and takes a bag he assumes contains Alabama’s belongings. Back at the apartment, he and Alabama discover the bag contains a large amount of cocaine.

The couple visit Clarence’s estranged father, Clifford, a former cop and now a security guard, for help. Clifford tells Clarence that the police assume Drexl’s murder to be a gang killing. After the couple leave for Los Angeles, Clifford is interrogated by Don Vincenzo Coccotti, consigliere to a mobster named “Blue Lou Boyle”, who wants the drugs. Clifford, realizing he will die anyway, mockingly defies Coccotti, whereupon Coccotti angrily shoots Clifford dead. A note on the refrigerator leads the mobsters to Clarence’s L.A. address. In L.A., Clarence and Alabama meet Clarence’s old friend Dick, an aspiring actor. Dick introduces Clarence to a friend of his, actor Elliot Blitzer, who reluctantly agrees to broker the sale of the drugs to film producer Lee Donowitz.

While Clarence is out buying lunch, Coccotti’s underboss, Virgil, finds Alabama in her motel room and beats her for information. She fights back and kills him with his shotgun. Elliot is pulled over for speeding and arrested for drug possession. In order to stay out of jail, he agrees to record the drug deal between Clarence and Donowitz for the police. Coccotti’s crew learn where the deal will take place from Dick’s roommate Floyd. Clarence, Alabama, Dick, and Elliot go to Donowitz’s suite at the Ambassador Hotel with the drugs. In the elevator, a suspicious Clarence threatens Elliot at gunpoint, but is persuaded by Elliott’s helpless pleading.

Clarence fabricates a story for Donowitz that the drugs were given to him by a corrupt cop, and Donowitz agrees to the sale. Clarence excuses himself to the bathroom, where a vision of Elvis again appears and reassures him that things are going well. Meanwhile, Donowitz and his bodyguards are ambushed by the cops and mobsters and a shootout begins after Elliott accidentally reveals himself as an informant. Dick abandons the drugs and flees. Almost everyone is killed in the gun battle, and Clarence is wounded as he exits the bathroom. He and Alabama escape with Donowitz’s money as more police arrive. They flee to Mexico where Alabama gives birth to a son, whom she names Elvis.True Romance is one of those great films that was rather unfairly and bizarrely largely ignored on it’s original theatrical release but it’s really hard to know why. It’s not because of the script/screenplay, that was written by the great Quentin Tarantino, with all the trademark flourishes you’d expect, with witty dialogue and great set-pieces that leave you quoting them for weeks. It’s not because it’s got a poor cast or poor acting. Apart from the leads, Christian Slater and the wonderful Patricia Arquette (in undoubtedly their greatest screen performances), this movie has a cast list like a whose who of great screen actors; Dennis Hopper, Gary Oldman and Christopher Walken. It also boasts a great cameo performance from Brad Pitt and a superb supporting performance from James Gandolfino. Val Kilmer and Samuel L. Jackson even turn up too in blink and you’ll miss it performances. a True great movie.
