fuller-house-final-seasonWhen Season 5 of ‘Fuller House’ began, Stephanie Tanner (Jodie Sweetin) and Jimmy Gibbler (Adam Hagenbuch) came back home with their baby girl after Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber) gave birth to Stephanie’s baby after being a surrogate for her. With the end looming, the first part also saw the heartwarming and beautiful proposal DJ Tanner-Fuller (Candace Cameron Bure) arranged for herself (she thought she was doing it for Kimmy) when Steve Hale (Scott Weinger), DJ’s high school sweetheart, asked her to marry him.1c0b3a5e-a84f-437c-a1e8-82638c434fa1-fh_508_unit_00203_rWith all three ladies finally engaged, the agenda for the final episodes were set — a triple wedding. As one character says in one of the episodes in Season 5B, pleasing one bride is hard enough — will they be able to pull off pleasing all three? If there’s one thing the ‘Full House’ reboot has shown, it’s that all three ladies — DJ, Steph, and Kimmy — often work as one unit, even with wildly differing tastes. Their mutual planning leads up to a beautiful wedding that’s put together at the last minute after plenty of things go wrong in the series finale.02tvcol-fuller-mobileMasterAt3xWe also get to see the return of the legacy cast, Danny Tanner (Bob Saget), Joey Gladstone (Dave Coulier), and Jesse Katsopolis (John Stamos) — with the noted exception of Jesse’s wife, Becky (Lori Loughlin) — in multiple episodes. All three of them walk the brides down the aisle and even give fitting toasts to end the series — something they did not get to do in the original series. Then there are the men of ‘Fuller House’, Steve, Jimmy, and Kimmy’s beau, Fernando Hernandez-Guerrero-Fernandez-Guerrero (Juan Pablo Di Pace) who get to spend more scenes together this time around as the men have their tuxedo fittings and their bachelor party in an ax-throwing club. More seasons might have meant further exploration of the “he-wolf pack.”Screen-Shot-2020-05-29-at-8.17.00-PMThe five seasons of ‘Fuller House’ have also seen the kids growing up — both the characters and the actors. Jackson Fuller (Michael Campion), Max Fuller (Elias Harger), Ramona Gibbler (Soni Nicole Bringas), and Tommy Fuller Jr (Dashiell and Fox Messitt) grow up to be pretty close siblings, and considering how they started out, it was sweet to watch. While fans of the ‘Fuller House’ series might be satisfied with the final episodes, perhaps fans of ‘Full House’ may not have felt the end was as befitting — after all, this is the second time we are bidding farewell to the Tanner household and even if it may be more than twenty years later, the impact of ‘Full House’ on viewers is evident as the reboot featured multiple throwbacks.1_Q8ZXsFJZk4wXjxTcwdqlrAEven so, the final episodes manage to do ‘Fuller House’ justice. Even if the reboot won’t be as beloved as the original, we still got to see DJ, Steph, Kimmy, and Steve all grown up and living their adult lives — something we don’t often get to see with many favorite childhood television shows. Perhaps Netflix might revisit bringing back the Tanner-Fuller-Gibbler families for another run to give these families a farewell with more closure.

Hale's Kitchen (2019)After months of anticipation, Part A of ‘Fuller House’ Season 5 finally released on Netflix, and you better get your tissues ready. When Season 4 ended, the makers of the series revealed that they would be returning for Season 5. The final episode of Season 4 ended with a cliffhanger that left us with many questions: Will Steejay finally happen? Will Kimmy Gibbler and Fernando ever get married? What about Stephani Tanner and Jimmy Gibbler now that they have a baby? What will happen to Lori Loughlin? Will DJ stay with Steve or will she go back to Matt? Will Steve and DJ get their most deserved happy ending or not? These were just a few questions that were lurking in our minds when the series announced that season 5 will be the final one.Andrea Barber, Candace Cameron Bure, and Jodie Sweetin in Family Business (2019)But, worry not. It looks like the makers have found a way to address all our questions and more. The tissues will still be needed, not for sad moments but for happy ones—at least in Part A. Season 4 ended with Kimmy giving birth to Stephanie and Jimmy’s baby girl. Season 5 begins with Stephanie and Jimmy coming home with their newborn but they still don’t have a name for the little one. The first episode revolves entirely on Stephanie getting used to motherhood. Not wanting to ask help from DJ, she gets a doula who gets on everyone’s nerves. Stephanie finally reconciles with DJ and kicks the doula to the curb. Coming back to the name of her baby in season 2, when Uncle Jessy and Aunt Becky adopted a little girl, they named her after Danny’s wife and Jessy’s sister Pamela. Paying tribute to the family seemed to be a tradition as Stephanie follows the same ritual and honors her entire family while choosing the name for her baby.Candace Cameron Bure, Scott Weinger, and Elias Harger in Family Business (2019)She named her Danielle after her father Danny and the middle name Jo if anyone would like to call her DJ in the future. She even honored Kimmy by naming her the godmother. Ramona also seemed to have found her first decent boyfriend in Ethan after Popko and the Japanese boy band singer. Throughout the season, we also witnessed some unexpected moments and shocking ones when Matt returns from Las Vegas, married to Gia. That’s not the most shocking part, the one that will leave your jaw on the floor is Gia joining the She-Wolf pack. Matt tries to bond with Rocki and tries to be the step-father she never had. What we see throughout this season is a lot of bonding between the family members. DJ takes up gaming to get closer to Jackson and get him to open up to her. Meanwhile, we see Steve and Max bond when DJ isn’t at home by watching their favorite show ‘Real Housewives’. Yup, you read that right.Marla Sokoloff, Andrea Barber, Candace Cameron Bure, and Jodie Sweetin in Moms' Night Out (2019)That’s not the only part where we see the two bond, one might say we can see Steve and Max spend more time together than Steve and DJ themselves, and it literally is the cutest sight to see in the series. That’s not all, folks. We even witness two celebrity appearances this season. One by Lisa Loeb, which was already revealed in the teaser. She visits the vet with her cat, which DJ uses as an opportunity to introduce Stephanie and her music to Lisa. The second celebrity cameo is by Kirk Cameron. Kimmy tries to date again after getting confused about whether Fernando is the one for her. In the end, she goes on a date with Kirk Cameron but comes back to her one true love Fernando after.Candace Cameron Bure in Ready Player Fuller (2019)Overall, though the entire season was filled with happy moments which always seems to be the only thing that goes on in the Tanner-Fuller house, the last episode is the tear-jerker where DJ gets busy trying to prepare the best proposal for Kimmy. Yup, you read that right, Steve finally proposes to DJ, and we might be seeing a triple wedding when the season returns for Part B of the series finale. And for those of you worried about Joey and Uncle Jessy, sadly, we will not get to see them throughout the series except in the end when Steve proposes to DJ. Hopefully, we will get to see more of them in Part B of the season finale. As for Aunty Becky, the series didn’t address her at all, it was almost like she didn’t exist. And we needn’t be shocked about that. It was almost a known fact that Lori’s character will not be mentioned in the season. Overall, Part A of the series wasn’t disappointing. It seemed like the makers were trying to fill all the cliffhangers and give fans and viewers just what they wanted. We just have to wait and see if Part B will manage to tie up all the loose ends.

2.9) OUR VERY FIRST CHRISTMAS SHOW

The family is on a flight to Colorado to spend Christmas with some relatives, and this is a trip that Danny has spent months planning – but on the way to Colorado, a blizzard forces an emergency landing at an unfamiliar airport. The family is forced to spend Christmas in the baggage claim room, where everyone thinks Christmas is ruined this time around. Among the things that happen here are: Jesse’s father Nick tries to get Jesse to kiss Becky under a mistletoe, D.J. is upset that the gifts that the family brought along on the flight with them are missing, and Michelle is afraid of Lionel (Sorrell Booke), a man who made her cry on the airplane because of his toupee. Jesse, becoming ever so frustrated by everyone’s sour attitudes, speaks to the people in the baggage claim room about the real meaning of Christmas. Then Santa Claus shows up and shows the family where the missing gifts are, and it turns out that Lionel is Santa Claus.

3.11) AFTERSHOCKS

In the wake of a frightening earthquake, Danny is initially willing to deny Stephanie’s excessive clinginess. It all seems relatively harmless to him at first, but Danny finally recognizes the seriousness of the situation when his distraught daughter won’t even let him go on a business dinner for a few hours. Unable to get Stephanie to share her feelings with him, Danny reluctantly agrees that this is not something that a dad can handle on his own. Meanwhile, D.J.—who wakes up one morning with a zit on her nose—nervously anticipates her role in a school play.

At the end of the show, Vicky arrives and tells Danny that she accepted a job as a network anchor in New York City. IT’S NOT MY JOB

Jesse has made his first sale of an advertising jingle. As a result, Jesse tells his father, Nick Katsopolis, that he wants to leave the pest exterminator business that is run by Nick, and Nick is severely disappointed by this – so disappointed, that Nick loses his temper with Jesse and says that he is out of the family. Jesse and his mother Irene manage to talk some sense into Nick, who realizes that Jesse has a dream about making it in the music business, and Nick and Jesse work things out. Meanwhile, Stephanie is afraid to go to the dentist to get a tooth filled, and she is even more nervous when she is actually sitting in the examination chair. Joey helps her beat her fear.

DIVORCE COURT

Family discord is not usually in high supply within the Tanner household, but trouble begins when D.J. and Stephanie-who haven’t been getting along too well recently-duke it out over privacy issues in their shared bedroom. Frustrated that her big sister doesn’t appreciate her, Stephanie impulsively moves in with little Michelle, a decision she soon regrets. Of course, the kids aren’t the only ones at odds with each other; Danny, Jesse, and Joey go on live air with Wake Up, San Francisco, challenge one another to a footrace, and set out to prove who is the most physically strong. After the race the boys attempt to play court to mediate the situation between Stephanie and D.J.

These episode may not be fully Halloween as the Halloween theme is mostly a wrap round for the shows but they are still good fun episodes and bring back that nostalgic theme that we all fondly remember from Full House.

When I found out that they were making this I had mixed feelings of happy nostalgia and preemptive disappointment. While the child in me wants this to make it due to fond memories of watching the original, another part of me was sure it would be horrible. It turned out to be great after binge watching season 1 I was stoked for season 2 and once again it did not disappoint.  The episodes this season are

3rd Rock from the Sun is a tough act to follow. The Neighbors does a pretty good job, but uses wit and timing instead of zaniness and slapstick comedy to get its laughs. That makes it consistently funny, just not side-splittingly funny. Naming all of the aliens after sports heroes was an inspired choice– they’ll never run out of funny names (a tot named Dick Butkus?), and the fact that the aliens are dorky doubles down on the running gag. So are all their matching outfits/uniforms that remind us of golf clothes from the 1970s.

Also on the upside, some of the cast members are real gems. I don’t know where Toks Olagundoye has been up til now, but she’s got real movie star power as the glamorous alien mom. Her rapid fire back and forth with alien husband Simon Templeman, who has perfect comedic timing and never wastes a good line, are my favorite parts of the show. Jami Gertz and Max Charles are good enough as the earthling straight man/woman, but I think maybe too much of the plot compares their unfunny ordinariness to the aliens’ backwards/upside down view of what humanity is like. The child actors are pretty good, too, even if the show relies a little too much on alien child Ian Patrick’s precociousness. Clara Mamet is exceptional as the brooding, frighteningly calculating and cynical teenager.

I was worried that after a few episodes the running gags would wear thin and they’d run out of ideas. Not so at all! It was a series that went from strength to strength but put on in American in the Friday night death slot, so sadly only 2 seasons were made.

Full House is a great show for anyone of any age. It will make you laugh, it will make you cry, it will amaze you. True, some people feel that there are some cheesy aspects to the show, but, the positive aspects out weigh all of the cheesy aspects. Full House ran it’s first episode on September 22, 1987 entitled “Our Very First Show” and ran it’s last episode on May 23, 1995 entitled “Michelle Rides Again Part II”.
The plot of the show is very believable. Danny Tanner (Bob Saget) losses his wife, Pam, in an accident involving a drunk driver. Danny has his brother in law, Jesse Katsopolis (John Stamos), which is Pam’s younger brother, and Danny also brings in his best friend Joey Gladstone (Dave Coulier) to help him raise his three daughters. Danny’s daughters are named DJ (Candice Cameron-Bure), Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin), and Michelle (Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen).Joey and Jesse plan on moving in with Danny and his three girls for a few months just to help out and end up living with them for eight years; which is the number of years the show ran for.
The only negative thing that I can say is how Full House became The Michelle Show towards the end. I think it was to focused on her towards the end. Especially when I think Jodie and Candice were much better at acting. Full House is a great show for everyone. It can teach you a lot. One of the biggest things it can teach you is that everyone can live a great life even if a tragedy, such as loosing a family member, occurs. Full House continues to attract new fans. With all this said, there is only a couple things left to say; Full House will never die, and, thank you, the cast of Full House, for giving everyone a show that they can enjoy

With the sequel series Fuller House on Netflix and renewed for a second season now is the perfect time to watch the original series.

Before I started watching Fuller House, I read a bunch of reviews and was so disappointed that it was getting ripped to shreds that I almost didn’t give it a chance, but curiosity got the best of me and I started watching. To echo some of the other reviewers, yes, the first episode is incredibly cheesy and feels more like an homage to the old cast than an introduction to a new show, but after just the main cast of Fuller House is left, I found it actually quite fantastic.  Some say that it’s just rehashing the original show and in a lot of ways, they have taken an extremely similar storyline, but beyond that it is totally its own. But what I absolutely love about it is that it feels like a 90s sitcom. I grew up watching Full House, Fuller House can stand on its own two legs without their Full House background and I have been very pleasantly surprised.

Nowadays there really isn’t much family friendly material on TV; there are very few shows that aren’t filled with innuendo, language, sex, and so on. But Fuller House stays true to the Full House values and while it may be cheesy at times, each episode has a moral to the story where someone learned something and is better for having learned it. It teaches the audience what’s really important in life and how much families really matter. If you’re looking for a Modern Family type of show, you will not find that in Fuller House, but if you’re missing the sitcoms of the 90s that you could comfortably watch with your whole family, you will love Fuller House.
