Rick Skene in Silent Night (2012)A mysterious man dresses in a Santa Claus suit, complete with a mask. Once dressed, “Santa” captures and kills Jordan (Brendan Fehr), a police officer in the small town of Cryer, Wisconsin. Jordan is sleeping with the married Alana Roach (Ali Tartaryn) and is electrocuted with Christmas lights in his home. The following day, Christmas Eve, the Sheriff of Cryer, Sheriff Cooper (Malcolm McDowell), calls Deputy Aubrey Bradimore (Jaime King) in on her day off when Jordan doesn’t arrive at work. Aubrey is a new addition to the police force, and is still reeling from the unexpected death of her husband John. She doesn’t think she’s a good officer as she is trying to live up to her father, who is a retired cop. Aubrey was going to spend the holiday with her parents but instead goes out to check on Jordan, finding his mangled body and Roach torn apart later in the day. Sheriff Cooper decides not to tell Mayor Revie (Tom Anniko) until the case is solved.Jaime King in Silent Night (2012)Meanwhile, the masked Santa killer goes on a murder spree, killing those who have done something he considers ‘naughty.’ His next victim is a bratty teenage girl who he kills with a taser, then he makes his way to the local motel, murdering a group of people during a softcore porn shoot. One woman manages to escape and tries to hide inside a Christmas Tree farm, but the killer chops off one of her legs and throws her feet-first into a woodchipper. Sheriff Cooper calls in Deputy Stanley Giles (Andrew Cecon) and goes out to find the killer himself, but comes back empty handed. Aubrey starts to suspect Santa Jim Epstein (Donal Logue), a local drunken Santa portrayer, drug dealer Stein Karsson (Mike O’Brian), and the perverted Reverend Madely (Curtis Moore).Rick Skene in Silent Night (2012)Aubrey attempts to interrogate Karrson, but he flees. Aubrey gives chase, but is nearly killed and only saved by Cooper. That evening, during the town’s annual Christmas parade, Aubrey searches for the killer, but is unable to identify him among a crowd of men dressed in Santa Claus suits, though she arrests Jim when he flees from her. The killer Santa continues on his spree, murdering Mayor Revie, his porn star daughter Tiffani (Courtney-Jane White), and her boyfriend Dennis (Erik J. Berg). The killer then arrives at the church and kills Reverend Madely for stealing donation money. Aubrey goes to Karrson’s motel room to arrest him, and is forced to kill him when he draws a gun.Rick Skene and Cortney Palm in Silent Night (2012)Aubrey notices a gift box that contains a piece of coal, and recalls that both the station and her father had received the same gift. Aubrey arrives at her parents’s home, only to find her father dead. Meanwhile, the killer attacks the station, killing Cooper, Giles, and Jim. Aubrey, along with the station secretary Brenda (Ellen Wong), are cornered by the killer inside the police station, where the killer tries to burn down the place with a homemade flamethrower. Aubrey is able to overpower the killer Santa and sets him on fire, but in the end he manages to escape.Rick Skene in Silent Night (2012)It is later revealed that the killer Santa is Ronald Jones Jr., owner of a local chimney cleaning and repair service, and he survived the flamethrower attack. During the hunt for the killer, Aubrey learns from another Santa portrayer that Ronald Sr. had crashed his ex-wife’s Christmas party many years ago, burning her alive with the homemade flamethrower. Aubrey’s father was the police officer that responded to the situation and gunned him down, only to find out that Ronald Jr. was in his father’s truck watching the entire time. The tragedy caused Ronald Jr. to go insane and seek revenge, dressing as Santa so he would not get caught during Cryer’s Christmas festivities.Rick Skene in Silent Night (2012)Now this is not a straight forward remake of SILENT NIGHT DEADLY NIGHT, but it does pay homage in a few scenes, if you remember how Linnea Quigley dies in the original you’ll know what i mean….its a solid film based on its own merit and storyline, some great gore and death scenes, and good acting by the most of the cast..unfortunately apart from Malcolm Mcdowell, who plays the sheriff, terrible dialogue and terrible acting, that was the only issue i had with it, because all round a great seasonal slasher, this will definitely be on the slasher/ horror list to watch every Christmas with all the rest,

An adult Andy Barclay returns home after a bad date and is revealed to have the original Chucky’s head, which is still conscious and deformed after being repeatedly tortured by Andy in retribution for his crimes. Meanwhile, Nica Pierce has spent the past four years in a mental institution after being framed by Chucky for the murders of her family. After years of intense therapy, she now believes she was responsible for the murders and that Chucky was just a manifestation of her psychosis. As a result of her “breakthrough”, her doctor, Dr. Foley, has her transferred to a medium security mental institution. Andy presents Chucky’s severed head to Dr. Foley to convince him of Nica’s innocence, but he dismisses the head as “special effects”.After arriving, Nica becomes part of a regular group therapy session, which is composed of Malcolm, a man with multiple identity disorder, Angela, an old woman who believes herself to be dead, Claire, a woman who burned her house down and Madeleine, a disturbed patient who smothered her infant son to death. Dr. Foley introduces a new therapy technique which involves a Good Guy doll to the group. Most of the patients are deeply unsettled by the doll except for Madeleine, who takes the doll and treats it as her baby.Nica is visited by Tiffany Valentine, who reveals that Nica’s niece, Alice, has died and leaves her a Good Guy doll, which she claims was a gift from Alice. That night, Chucky awakens and finds Nica only to discover that she had attempted suicide by slashing her wrists with one of the spokes of her wheelchair. The next morning, Nica awakens to find that her wrists have been stitched up and that a message stating “not so fast” has been left in a puddle of her blood. She then discovers that Angela has died, apparently of suicide after having her wrists cut and the message “Chucky did it” left in her blood.download (7).jpeAngela’s death leaves the group shaken and after realizing that Valentine was the last name of Charles Lee Ray’s girlfriend, Nica begins to believe that Chucky is real. Believing Madeleine is in danger, Nica has Michael pursue her out to the institution’s graveyard in order to warn her. However, Madeline throws both the doll and Michael into an empty grave. The orderlies rescue Michael, but it is heavily implied that Chucky has transferred his soul into his body. After Claire tries to get rid of the other doll, it bites her leaving Dr. Foley and the orderlies to believe that she is self-harming. Claire becomes hysterical and Dr. Foley and Carlos sedate her and strapping her to a Gurney. After Claire is left alone, one of the Chucky dolls kills her by smashing the skylight in the room and decapitating her with shards of broken glass. In a private session with Dr. Foley, Nica agrees to be hypnotized in order to regain any repressed memories about her involvement in the murders. While hypnotized, it is revealed that Foley has been sexually abusing Nica during their previous sessions. Foley is then hit from behind by Chucky with a glass bottle and offers Nica one of the shards to kill Foley, although she doesn’t go through with it. Foley believes Nica is the one who assaulted him but is willing to keep quiet in order to blackmail her for sexual favors. Meanwhile, Madeleine takes her Good Guy doll and smothers it with a pillow forcing her to confront the repercussions of her real child’s death. The orderlies bury the doll as a form of catharsis for Madeleine.Andy learns about the murders online and realizes that Chucky has somehow managed to transfer his soul into multiple bodies at once. He hatches a plan to end the carnage by sending a Good Guy doll to the facility with a gun inside, cutting its hair so he can tell the difference. Andy arrives at the institution and commits himself by assaulting one of the security guards. Madeleine is visited by her doll, who has risen from the grave and allows him to kill her so she can finally be with her baby again. Foley returns to his office and finds Nica tied in a straight jacket. He attempts to assault her again but is knocked out by one of the Chucky dolls. The other Chucky doll enters, and upon seeing the Good Guy doll Andy sent, awakens him. The three Chuckys reveal that the original Chucky found a voodoo spell on the Internet which allowed him to separate his soul from multiple host bodies. He then reveals that Alice was one of his hosts, but was killed after one of Chucky’s victims fought back against her. Carlos suddenly appears in Dr. Foley’s office and watches Nica surrounded by the three Chucky’s. All the dolls kill Carlos by stabbing him, cutting his stomach open with the broken glass bottle and stabbing him with a screwdriver as Nica looks on in horror. While the short-haired Chucky leaves to kill Andy, one of the other Chucky’s transfers his soul into Nica, granting her body the ability to walk, and stomps Foley’s skull in with the red high heels Foley had earlier placed on her, as retribution for his treatment of Nica. Chucky/Nica wanders the hospital and stumbles upon Michael who shows her the body Ashley claiming that he killed her. Chucky/Nica refuses his claim as he had never actually transferred his soul into his body. Michael breaks down and states that he takes on so many personalities as a way of trying to be someone who matters before being killed by Madeline’s Chucky who cuts through his skull with the screwdriver. The short-haired Chucky attacks Andy in his cell, but after a brief struggle Andy reaches into Chucky’s chest and pulls out the gun, and shoots the doll repeatedly before stomping its head. Andy attempts to shoot Chucky/Nica, but had wasted all of his ammo. The institution is sent into lockdown resulting in Andy being locked inside his cell, Madeline’s Chucky going into hiding, and Chucky/Nica escaping. Chucky/Nica reunites with Tiffany and kiss passionately before driving off together with the Tiffany doll, hinting that the eighth film might be revealed in the future. In a post-credits scene, Andy’s former foster sister Kyle from the second film enters Andy’s house, having been sent by Andy to continue torturing the original Chucky’s severed head.Don Mancini has created another interesting entry in the franchise and there is plenty on offer here for the fans. I would say that whatever Don has planned for the next installment will be more interesting as this one is very much a build up with a lot going on. After the two revelations at the end, one I don’t know what to think because I suppose the loss of innocence plays a part in it and another that breaks new ground and is interesting but I am not sure how Don will play it out. He sets this one up to make you really want to see what happens next and on that note, the film works and is a clever addition to the franchise

Twenty-five years after the events of the first film, Chucky (voiced by Brad Dourif) mysteriously arrives in the mail at the home of paraplegic Nica Pierce (Fiona Dourif) and her mother Sarah (Chantal Quesnel). Later that night, Sarah is found dead from a stab wound, and her death is ruled as a suicide. Nica is later visited by her sister Barb (Danielle Bisutti), accompanied by her husband Ian (Brennan Elliott), their daughter Alice (Summer H. Howell), live-in nanny Jill (Maitland McConnell), and Father Frank (A Martinez). Alice finds Chucky and is allowed to keep him. That evening, while Alice and Nica are making soup, Chucky secretly pours rat poison into one of the dinner bowls. Father Frank eats the poison and, after leaving the house, is decapitated in a car accident. That night, Nica investigates Chucky on the Internet and finds news articles about the murders tied to both the doll and Charles Lee Ray. Elsewhere, Chucky kicks a bucket of rain water onto the floor’s power outlets, electrocuting Jill and causing a blackout. Barb gets up to check on Alice and is attacked by Chucky, who stabs her in the eye with a kitchen knife. Nica hears Barb’s cries but has to crawl up the stairs. Once upstairs, Nica discovers that Barb is dead and Chucky is alive. When Chucky flees, Nica wakes Ian up in a panic.Ian takes Nica to the garage but is unable to find Alice. He disarms Nica, believing her to be responsible for the murders. Nica tries to explain that Chucky is alive, but Chucky acts like a lifeless doll when Ian looks at him. Ian decides to review the footage from a hidden camera that he planted on Chucky earlier (to get evidence of Barb’s affair with Jill) and learns that Alice is locked in a closet and that Chucky truly is alive. Exposed, Chucky kills Ian with a hatchet before he can act. Nica manages to break out of her restraints and tries to kill Chucky, but Chucky pushes her over a balcony onto the ground floor. When Nica asks why Chucky is doing this, he explains through flashbacks that as Charles Lee Ray, he was a friend of her family and in love with Sarah. Ray killed Nica’s father and kidnapped Sarah while she was pregnant with Nica. When Sarah betrayed him, he stabbed her in the stomach (which resulted in Nica being born paraplegic) and escaped. Ray’s flight from the police ultimately led to his death as a human, which is why he came back to Sarah for revenge. Before Chucky can kill Nica, she fights back, leading to an extended scuffle. Officer Stanton (Adam Hurtig) arrives at the house, but sees Nica holding the bloody knife after finding Barb’s body. A motionless Chucky watches from a nearby chair. Some time later, Nica is found guilty of the murders and sent to a mental asylum. Chucky is retained by the police as an exhibit for her trial. The arresting officer gets in his car and sees Chucky breathing in the bag. He is killed by Tiffany, who had been hiding in the backseat. Tiffany collects Chucky and asks, “Who’s next?” Meanwhile, Alice, now living with her grandmother, comes home from school to find Chucky waiting for her. Chucky persuades Alice to play “Hide The Soul”, and starts the infamous voodoo chant to transfer his soul into Alice’s body. The grandmother, who Chucky has attacked but did not kill, sits up suddenly, suffocating in a plastic bag, shortly after Chucky begins the chant. In a post-credits scene set six months later, Chucky, still in his doll body, is delivered to the now-adult Andy Barclay (Alex Vincent). When Andy turns his back to answer a phone call from his mother, Chucky cuts his way out of the package with a knife. Andy, who had anticipated Chucky coming after him again, shoots Chucky with a gun.The story does take the series full circle linking it to the original and other sequels, plus we get a few nice cameos towards the end. Overall its really worth checking out if your a fan, its fits in so well with the rest of this amazing horror gem of a franchise

In 1974, at the Glensville Sanatorium, West Virginia, Dr. Brendan Ryan (Arne MacPherson) shows local psychiatrist named Dr. Ann Marie McQuaid (Kristen Harris) around the psychiatric hospital. He shows his three deformed patients, Three Finger, Saw Tooth and One Eye, who all have the ability to sustain injury and not feel it. While Dr. Ryan and Dr. McQuaid move on, one of the mental patients grabs Dr. McQuaid’s hair and rips out her hair clip, which she does not notice. The patient gives the hair clip to Saw Tooth. The Hillickers use the clip to pick the lock and escape from their cells. They release the other patients and together they kill the orderlies and the doctors, including McQuaid and Ryan. Twenty-nine years later in 2003, nine Weston University students: Kenia (Jennifer Pudavick), Jenna (Terra Vnesa), Vincent (Sean Skene), Bridget (Kaitlyn Leeb), Sara (Tenika Davis), Claire (Samantha Kendrick), Kyle (Victor Zinck, Jr.), Daniel (Dean Armstrong) and Lauren (Ali Tataryn), are snowmobiling, on their way to their friend Porter’s cabin in the mountains. However, they get lost in a snowstorm and are forced to take shelter in the Glensville Sanatorium, where the surviving cannibals (The Hillickers) settled.

The teens explore the asylum and decide to wait out the storm. Lauren remembers her brother’s stories about the sanatorium and The Hillickers, but her friends do not believe her. After the group go to bed, Vincent, suffering from insomnia, begins strolling around the asylum. After he finds Porter’s corpse, he is murdered by Saw Tooth before he can alert the others. The next day, as the storm continues, the teens notice that Vincent is missing and begin to look for him. While searching for him, Jenna witnesses The Hillickers butchering Porter’s body, and she runs back to warn the others. After they find Porter’s severed head, Claire is caught around the throat with a strip of barbed wire and lifted up to a nearby balcony. Kyle attempts to save her, but The Hillickers pull the wire tighter, decapitating Claire. The group flees, but The Hillickers have stripped off the spark-plug wires on their snowmobiles. Lauren skis down the mountain to seek help, while the others barricade themselves in a doctor’s office.Later, Sara, Daniel and Kyle go to the basement to find weapons. After discovering an arsenal of knives and other tools, they return to the others, but The Hillickers capture Daniel. The rest of the group overhear his screams and runs back to save him, but they arrive too late and Kyle finds The Hillickers eating Daniel alive. The group chase The Hillickers successfully trapping them in a cell. They begin to kill them but Kenia refuses, saying that they will be just like the cannibals if they resort to execution now that they have them at bay. The girls leave Kyle to guard The Hillickers as they set off to find the spark-plug wires. While Kyle is asleep, The Hillickers use Dr. McQuaid’s hair clip to escape and attack him. Giving up their search for the spark-plug wires, the girls return to the doctor’s office. During the night they mistake Kyle for a cannibal and accidentally stab him to death.
Realizing that they are locked in the building, Sara breaks a window and digs a tunnel through the snow. The girls escape, but Jenna is killed before she can reach it. As Kenia, Sara and Bridget attempt to get away, the cannibals chase them on snowmobiles. The girls are separated and The Hillickers attack and kill Bridget. As the day dawns, Lauren has frozen to death in the storm. Kenia is still searching for the road when One Eye reappears on a snowmobile. Sara arrives and saves Kenia, knocking One Eye off the snowmobile and allowing the pair to steal it. As Kenia and Sara drive away, they accidentally run into a strip of barbed wire and are decapitated. Three Finger picks up their heads and puts them in a tow truck, before moving away with his brothers.
This is a prequel to the last three wrong turn movies, if like me you’re a massive fan of these movies then you wont be disappointed, its your similar set up a bunch of teens end up taking a wrong turn in the middle of no where after getting lost in the snow and find an abandoned psychiatric hospital home to the freaks we all know and love saw tooth, one eye and 3 finger!! Then the bloody massacre begins, theres lashings of blood and gore as usual to keep horror fans happy, lots of imaginative and gross painful deaths, great fun slasher movie, check it out.
